About Diana Rondinelli

We are a blended family - Vic is from Bluefield, WV, and Diana is from Newport News, VA. They joined forces in 1989 with their 6 children. And survived - to now enjoy 11 grandchildren. And all of them LOVE this home!

Diana Rondinelli purchased this house in 2004

Why Diana Rondinelli chose Duck

Diana grew up vacationing in OBX - and Vic came to love the place when he visited in 1975. And neither of us ever lost our love for the beach, the towns, the people. We own two homes currently - and had another one that we sold in 1989. We will always have a home on the Outer Banks of NC!

What makes this house unique

It is just the most relaxing place - and when you read the guest book and the wonderful words written about our home away from home - you will understand. The rocking chairs on the deck - the screened in porch - and the great kitchen with the tiki-bar. It just felt like home the first time we walked in the door.

Exactly What we were hoping for!!

  • 5 of 5

Wow, the owner was SO helpful answering questions and making us feel very welcome. Great location with easy access to the ocean and the sound. Our trip was a birthday celebration and fit the whole family very comfortably. With 2 living spaces plus the 2 decks we had plenty of room to spread out and the upper kitchen/dining/living area was big enough for all 11 of us to come together and hang out!! Over all a great place and AMAZING vacation!

Great location, amenities and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at The Sweet Life II!!! My four year old son loved the kid's room and the "yellow house" as he called it. The pool is a stone's throw away and it's a nice, clean and well kept pool...we had it to ourselves whenever we went since it was the week of Labor Day. The town of Duck is one mile away and we loved the boardwalk, the pizza place, watching the sunset and while we didn't have time this time, we love walking around Scarborough Fair. We went to the H2OBX waterpark the last day it was open for the season and it is amazing! We had so much fun and it is really great for all ages. The beach is a short drive or ten minute walk from the house (15 with a child!) and it was a great section of beach...clean and less crowded than the Nags Head area. We have always stayed in Kill Devil Hills or Salvo but discovered we really love this area. The house has all we need and while the beds aren't like a memory foam matress at a five star hotel, they are clean and comfy and I slept well. The layout of the house is perfect and the seating is comfortable too. We LOVED our time and will be back! Thank you for an amazing trio!

July at the beach

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at The Sweet Life II. A very easy walk to the beach and a very easy drive to many different interesting sites in the surrounding area. We had additional family renting a house in the same community so the living spaces in the house were spacious enough to accommodate a large group. Traffic can be very heavy but the town of Duck is a short walk or bike ride away. We golfed at a number of local courses and all were in good shape. Nags Head Golf links was a favorite.

Perfect for a family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at your rental. The kitchen, big table, cable, proximity to the ocean and pool were the main features we took advantage of. This house has all the cooking supplies you will need to ensure a delicious and relaxing vacation. Our 4 year old cried when we folded up the sofa bed. I recommend this house for your next vacation. Thank you!

Car: recommended

The town of Duck is less than 5 min drive - first you will see an art gallery, awesome shopping and restaurants. Further down Duck Road you will find wind surfing, jet skis, etc - lots of fun for everyone! Another 10 -15 min and you can see the wild horses in Corova! Take a chance - you will enjoy the drive. And if you go 'the other way' - back to Kitty Hawk - there is even more fun waiting. Fishing piers, shopping, restaurants, miniature golf, etc. You will love it!
