About Diana Rondinelli

We are a blended family - Vic is from Bluefield, WV, and Diana is from Newport News, VA. They joined forces in 1989 with their 6 children. And survived - to now enjoy 11 grandchildren. And all of them LOVE this home!

Diana Rondinelli purchased this house in 2004

Why Diana Rondinelli chose Duck

Diana grew up vacationing in OBX - and Vic came to love the place when he visited in 1975. And neither of us ever lost our love for the beach, the towns, the people. We own two homes currently - and had another one that we sold in 1989. We will always have a home on the Outer Banks of NC!

What makes this house unique

It is just the most relaxing place - and when you read the guest book and the wonderful words written about our home away from home - you will understand. The rocking chairs on the deck - the screened in porch - and the great kitchen with the tiki-bar. It just felt like home the first time we walked in the door.

Perfect for a family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at your rental. The kitchen, big table, cable, proximity to the ocean and pool were the main features we took advantage of. This house has all the cooking supplies you will need to ensure a delicious and relaxing vacation. Our 4 year old cried when we folded up the sofa bed. I recommend this house for your next vacation. Thank you!

How Sweet It Is~! Water Water Everywhere - The Ocean, the Bay, and the Pool

  • 4 of 5

Our large extended family stayed at The Sweet Life II the end of July - early August. With 4 adults, and 5 teenagers - there was the perfect space for everyone; to be together, and also to relax quietly. All appliances worked perfectly; AC, washer/dryer, fridge, etc - everything in order. The porches were morning favorite spots for lounging and coffee, while the cook of the day made breakfast in the large kitchen. The teens loved the flawless wireless reception, and everyone loved having the ocean - or the bay - just a few blocks away; private access - very nice. The darling town of Duck so close was terrific. We highly recommend Ducks Donuts for the perfect end-of-day treat. A week of sun drenched relaxation with loved ones was wonderful - thank you.

Duck Adventure

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed the beach, sound and pool. An easy walk to all as well as an easy drive to the 4WD beach in Corolla. We got to see the wild ponies and the lighthouse.

LOVED IT! Would absolutely recommend!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a fantastic property. We were two families (one family of 5 and one family of 4). Big common areas, but also plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have space when needed. Large dining room table as well as two spacious decks (off main floor and top floor). When we arrived, everything was immaculate. Walls and carpets look great so as to look recently renovated. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need. The outdoor shower is AMAZING - hot water with very high pressure, which was great to come back to after the ocean. A beautiful doe and her fawn clearly live close by as we saw them in the yard several times. Beach and Sound (with crab trap - FUN - kids caught their own crabs and we cooked them) are each a 8-10 minute walk from the house (pool and tennis court are less than 5-minute walk). If you'd rather drive, there are parking passes for both beach and sound, and we were never unable to find a spot. Downtown Duck is within walking distance 1-2 miles, but there's plenty of parking there too. When researching the trip, we had a hard time figuring out which town would be best. For us, it was definitely Duck. If you're familiar with the Northeast, Duck has a Bar Harbor-like feel. Very laid back and friendly people. Cool shops and restaurants. It's also close to everything in other towns (Wright Brothers Museum, Wild Horses, etc..). If you go to Wild Horse Adventures, ask for Ryan. He's great. We did not see the landlords at all, so you don't need to worry about them hovering if that's a concern, but I'm sure if we needed them, it would have been a quick response.

Map

Car: recommended

The town of Duck is less than 5 min drive - first you will see an art gallery, awesome shopping and restaurants. Further down Duck Road you will find wind surfing, jet skis, etc - lots of fun for everyone! Another 10 -15 min and you can see the wild horses in Corova! Take a chance - you will enjoy the drive. And if you go 'the other way' - back to Kitty Hawk - there is even more fun waiting. Fishing piers, shopping, restaurants, miniature golf, etc. You will love it!
