Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath 2nd Floor Condo, Direct Beachfront Pool/Tennis

Welcome to Coral Bay Village, your beachfront paradise. Located right on a secluded beautiful white sand beach, close enough to Georgetown and the airport for your convenience, but far enough to enjoy the quiet and beauty without the crowds and rowdiness of seven mile beach. For less than the price of a reasonable hotel room you can enjoy a two bedroom condo with a full kitchen and plenty of space, beautiful grounds and a stunning white sand beach that will feel like its all your own.

Relax on a lounge chair under a palm tree and listen to the gentle waves lapping on the virtually private beach. When looking for activity, grab your tennis racket and play a few games on our newly resurfaced tennis court, or take a dip in our pool. Adventure awaits right off our beach. Bring your snorkeling gear--snorkel right off our beach and see many different types of fish and coral, and sea turtles! Our reef protected area is a popular feeding ground for sea turtles, and while many are timid and stay away from snorkelers, some are curious and let you swim above or along beside them.

Cayman is famous for scuba diving, and our central location is perfect for heading out in a different direction each day to explore new dive sites. If you are not a certified diver, but have always wanted to dive let me know and i can recommend a training center for certification, or a place where you can take an introductory course and do a same day 'resort dive'. If you enjoy fishing, there is a pier just down the beach so bring your gear.

Coral bay village is a complex of 30 units, spread out over 4 buildings. We are on the second floor of a 2 story building, with direct beachfront views. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home, with one bedroom on the main floor and one loft bedroom. The 1300 square foot condo has vaulted ceilings in the living room area and glass doors out to the patio. Amenities such as groceries, liquor store, bank, etc are about 1.5 miles away, and you have a reserved parking space right outside the unit.

We have a property manager to assist with check in/check out and any problems that may occur during your stay to ensure a stress free holiday. In addition to bath towels, we have plenty of beach towels for your use, so no need to waste suitcase space on packing your own .Our condominium has been inspected by the department of tourism and is a non-smoking unit for your health.

Recent upgrades include fresh paint, some new furniture, new dishes, glassware and flatware, many new towels and high thread count linens.

More Recent upgrades include : New easy slide patio doors, New complete AC system including new air handling system and new ducts. New Gas Grill, Privacy curtains added to the loft. Pack n Play Playard provided

**New Nov 2016: rollaway cot in the loft has been replaced with Bunk beds with very nice mattresses.

About Tom Goodwin

We are Canadians, we live in Ottawa, Ontario. We love to spend as much time as possible in the Caribbean! We have bounced around the Caribbean a bit, and had properties in the Bahamas and Dominican Republic, and each had their drawbacks. We have settled in Cayman for the combination of reliable weather, year round warm water, low crime, safety, and the abundance of diving and snorkeling sites.

Tom Goodwin purchased this condo in 2012

Why Tom Goodwin chose Cayman Islands

We chose our condo in Coral Bay Village for several reasons: We were looking for direct beachfront, but prefer quiet areas. We wanted to be able to grab our masks and jump in the water without having to drive anywhere. We like that the restaurants and services of Georgetown are close enough to be convenient. yet far enough away to truly enjoy the quiet sounds of the ocean. We enjoy tennis, and the pool is great for the kids.

Little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

The condo was immaculately clean, the beds very comfortably and the AC was icy (in a good way). While you will need to rent a car, I think the location of this condo is perfect. It is far away from the tourist trap that is Seven Mile Beach. Since all of our activities were on the North or East End, we didn't even notice what days the cruise ships were in port. Everything was within a 20-30 minute drive. The only time we ran into traffic was rush hour at the end of the day. Even then, traffic was laughable at Spott's beach and the East/North side of the island compared to the west side of the island. The property manager was very helpful. We loved how many beach towels there were and the local cell phone was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this condo and this location if you want a quiet piece of paradise.

Perfect family vacation- THANK YOU!!

  • 5 of 5

THANK you, THANK you!! We had an A-MAZ-ING trip! We loved the location of this condo. It was perfect for us. Tom was easy to work with and Jennifer was a joy to meet when we arrived. We are a family with 3 teenagers- 20, 18, and 15. The condo truly is exactly as described. The private beach was beautiful- we snorkeled everyday. We seen a variety of fish, conch shells, and 4 sea turtles over the week. We rented a car and explored the whole island. Arrived on a Sunday so found a Subway- a couple blocks away, and got our groceries the next morning. Key things we enjoyed the beach, Georgetown for shopping, Rackham's & Tukka for dinner, Horseback riding with Coral Stone Stable- such a unique opportunity to ride the horses in the ocean as they swam. Amazing... I thought they were near condo, but they moved to West Bay in Jan, so we booked 10am, and then went down Seven Mile beach throughout the day- snorkeling at cemetery beach, and back to Rackham's to snorkel with the Tarpons. Visited the Blow Holes and Botanical garden- disappointed in the gardens as it was off season, and super humid out. 7am String Ray City with White Sands out of Rum Point- HIGHLY recommend! It goes out before any tourist boats- only 16 people allowed, so we got to feed them, hold them, swim with them, then went snorkeling at beautiful reef. AWESOME that was everyone's favorite, as we left the tour boats arrived so several hundred people were in the water trying to look at them. Starfish point, beautiful waters, and so many starfish. Thank you for sharing your condo with us. A place we would love to return to again.

Perfect secluded condo on Spotts Beach

  • 5 of 5

What a great little secret! This condo is away from the crowds and cruise ship tourists of Seven Mike Beach, on its own private space at Spotts Beach. Can't say enough how nice it was to have our own Beach with chairs, sun, and palm trees for shade...all just steps away from the condo. This is exactly what you see in the photos, and takes less than 1 minute to walk from your door to the water. All the amenities are here. Sadly, we were t able to enjoy the back patio as several iguanas camped out there during our entire stay...so we just used the beach instead :) Thanks Tom for the use of your amazing place!

Lived Up to Name

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week in a clean, well-furnished condo on a very quiet beach. A/C malfunctioned during our visit -- kudos to management for quick repair! Balcony is immediately above beach sunbathing area, so convenience is a plus. We would consider a return visit.

Paradise Found

  • 5 of 5

This property is all it promised, and more!

To start with, Jennifer, the property manager, was delightful and helpful. While we never had a problem while there, she was great before we arrived and at our check in.

The location on the second floor was really fantastic - spacious balcony on which we took all of our meals. The condo is in great shape, has everything one would need for their stay with a well-equipped kitchen where we cooked breakfasts, lunches and a couple of dinners, utilizing the great grill on the balcony.

There are lounges on the beach which we did not have to compete for against others as there were a few condos being used, but for the most part we had the beach to ourselves A LOT! The snorkeling is as advertised: just put on your gear and get in right out front. You're apt to find a sea turtle with little effort. We snorkeled every day and found them every time. Sometimes 1, sometimes 8+. It was the best!

The sea is rougher on Spotts than it is on 7-mile, but with the break well off shore, it was fine for snorkeling regardless of if the tide was in or out. We did go over to 7 mile for lap swimming and many activities available, but it was always a joy to return to our own oasis.

While we were just one couple in the condo, you could have a family of 5 or two couples.

We will come back!

Ideal location - private beach, amazing snorkeling

  • 4 of 5

Great relaxing week getaway for our family - 2 parents, 3 girls (ages 13-19). There were never more than 2-3 others on the beach besides us. Every day we went snorkeling in front of the condo and saw sea turtles and colorful fish around the coral heads each time.

Condo was perfectly adequate for a family of 5. A little dated and very spotty WiFi internet coverage; but well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Nice balcony overlooking beach equipped with gas grill. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the beach.

Renting a car is a must - to get to grocery store, restaurants, and other activities. Be cautioned that traffic during rush hour (7-9 am & 4-6 pm) to and from George Town is as horrendous as LA or NYC! We had several 8 am scuba dives scheduled out of the Westin on 7 Mile beach. If we left at 7 am it took us 30-45 minutes to get there, but if we left at 7:30 it took us 60-75 minutes (normally would take 20 minutes with no traffic).

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We don't typically think about traffic on an island in paradise, but there is traffic in Cayman--it's part of being a 'first world' island, however it is worse right now as they work to alleviate the problem. They are widening the Lynford Pierson Hwy, widening the Esterly Tibbetts Hwy, as well as building a bypass at Camana bay. The end result will be reduced congestion, however in the short term the construction actually makes it worse! Should be better soon! Thanks for staying with us!
