About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath 2nd Floor Condo, Direct Beachfront Pool/Tennis

Welcome to Coral Bay Village, your beachfront paradise. Located right on a secluded beautiful white sand beach, close enough to Georgetown and the airport for your convenience, but far enough to enjoy the quiet and beauty without the crowds and rowdiness of seven mile beach. For less than the price of a reasonable hotel room you can enjoy a two bedroom condo with a full kitchen and plenty of space, beautiful grounds and a stunning white sand beach that will feel like its all your own.

Relax on a lounge chair under a palm tree and listen to the gentle waves lapping on the virtually private beach. When looking for activity, grab your tennis racket and play a few games on our newly resurfaced tennis court, or take a dip in our pool. Adventure awaits right off our beach. Bring your snorkeling gear--snorkel right off our beach and see many different types of fish and coral, and sea turtles! Our reef protected area is a popular feeding ground for sea turtles, and while many are timid and stay away from snorkelers, some are curious and let you swim above or along beside them.

Cayman is famous for scuba diving, and our central location is perfect for heading out in a different direction each day to explore new dive sites. If you are not a certified diver, but have always wanted to dive let me know and i can recommend a training center for certification, or a place where you can take an introductory course and do a same day 'resort dive'. If you enjoy fishing, there is a pier just down the beach so bring your gear.

Coral bay village is a complex of 30 units, spread out over 4 buildings. We are on the second floor of a 2 story building, with direct beachfront views. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home, with one bedroom on the main floor and one loft bedroom. The 1300 square foot condo has vaulted ceilings in the living room area and glass doors out to the patio. Amenities such as groceries, liquor store, bank, etc are about 1.5 miles away, and you have a reserved parking space right outside the unit.

We have a property manager to assist with check in/check out and any problems that may occur during your stay to ensure a stress free holiday. In addition to bath towels, we have plenty of beach towels for your use, so no need to waste suitcase space on packing your own .Our condominium has been inspected by the department of tourism and is a non-smoking unit for your health.

Recent upgrades include fresh paint, some new furniture, new dishes, glassware and flatware, many new towels and high thread count linens.

More Recent upgrades include : New easy slide patio doors, New complete AC system including new air handling system and new ducts.

New gas Grill, 2016, Privacy curtains added to the loft. Pack n Play Playard provided

**New Nov 2016: rollaway cot in the loft has been replaced with Bunk beds with very nice mattresses.

About Tom Goodwin

We are Canadians, we live in Ottawa, Ontario. We love to spend as much time as possible in the Caribbean! We have bounced around the Caribbean a bit, and had properties in the Bahamas and Dominican Republic, and each had their drawbacks. We have settled in Cayman for the combination of reliable weather, year round warm water, low crime, safety, and the abundance of diving and snorkeling sites.

Tom Goodwin purchased this condo in 2012

Why Tom Goodwin chose Cayman Islands

We chose our condo in Coral Bay Village for several reasons: We were looking for direct beachfront, but prefer quiet areas. We wanted to be able to grab our masks and jump in the water without having to drive anywhere. We like that the restaurants and services of Georgetown are close enough to be convenient. yet far enough away to truly enjoy the quiet sounds of the ocean. We enjoy tennis, and the pool is great for the kids.

Hidden Gem! Amazing Condo on a Fantastic Beach

  • 5 of 5

We have made several trips to Grand Cayman, but usually go the hotel route and stay on seven mile beach. We are so happy we booked this condo and stayed on Spotts beach. The condo is perfect. All the amenities of home, and centrally located on this amazing island. The beach was perfect! Very clean and quiet. There were many times we had the whole stretch of sand to ourselves. Snorkeling is also amazing. We saw sea turtles every day down by the dock. Tons of fish in the area too. The condo complex was very quiet and well maintained. Dedicated parking was helpful (a rental car is a must). Unit was very clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. This unit is direct beachfront, second floor with amazing views and a private balcony. Places to go are : Turtle Centre, Crystal Caves, Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park, Pedro St James, Seven Mile Beach, and Georgetown for shopping and great restaurants. Places to eat are XQs, Bread & Chocolate, Rackams, Cayman Creperie, Paradise, Casanovas, and Dukes. Jennifer, the property manager was fantastic and very responsive. We left some snorkel gear for kids and adults behind, so be sure to book this unit with Tom for a vacation you will never forget! Thank you so much for use of your condo. You set the bar very high and we will definitely return to you soon. - Jason, Wendy, Michael, & Callie (Monroe Twp, NJ USA)

Spotts Beach Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We owned the beach. It may be because we went in July but we would go for hours not seeing anyone at all. Never was more than 6 people at a time. Saw turtles and lots of fish around each of the coral reefs daily. I snorkeled 3 to 4 times a day. The only problem we had was finding anything around the island without the use of a GPS. Street signs only show cross streets, billboards are none existent. To find out what road you are on, can take a while before a sign pops up. We tried to go to Stingray City and wound up at the Turtle Farm. We tried to go to Seven Mile Beach and wound up back at Spotts Beach, lol! We decided to give it up and stay at our piece of paradise. We did all our own cooking while there, going out is very expensive. The grill on the balcony works great! The first night we were there we ordered 2 large pizzas from Dominos, the bill was $35, but then came reality, that was Cayman dollars, so it was really around $49, so I wound up paying $60 for pizzas. Liquor is even more expensive, Jim Beam, 750ml was $35 Cayman, so about $50 US. This is a great unit on a quiet beach, if that is your kind of paradise, you will love it!

Awesome rental with best beach!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled around most of the island and did a lot of the "tourists" attractions, but continued to come back to the condo and snorkel with the turtles. This condo is located in the perfect area which allows you to drive to local tourist attractions but to also enjoy some of the local flavor! I would highly recommend this condo to families who enjoy the beach and snorkeling. Make sure to visit the local brewery Cayman Island brewery for the best local beer prices of one dollar per beer. Rackums is a great restaurant in Georgetown and they feed the large tarpon at 7:30. Make sure that you visit stingray city and Smith's Cove. We would definitely stay in this rental again!

A little piece of paradise

  • 4 of 5

This was my second stay at this location. We had a couple minor problems which Tom had addressed right away. I loved the addition of the BBQ grill, we used this almost every night. I also loved that the privacy curtain was added to the loft area upstairs. The open air lanai was nice durning the day but I found that if you had the light on outside at night it got pretty buggy. I love the location of this condo. For me it was in the middle of where we wanted to be, away from the crowds of seven mile beach. I loved snorkeling with the sea turtles it's one of my favorite things to do. This condo has everything you need to feel right at home.

Your personal piece of Caribbean white sand beach and turquoise blue water away from the crowds

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay. Condo was very much as described, very clean, everything functioning. Jennifer, the manager, met us shortly after we arrived and was very helpful, as was Tom. This is an upstairs condo, with very easy steps from the parking spot, and equally a few easy paces to a gorgeous beach, with palm trees for shade and beach chairs waiting for you, complete with shower. The balcony is a great place to eat and relax looking out over the beach and the water. You will certainly see turtles in the sea directly in front of the condo. Yes, there are a few stones/rocks and some banks of sea grass as you enter the water, but not a big deal. The snorkeling is quite nice, but you'll want to go other places, too. There is one head of coral just a few strokes out in front of the condo, which attracts nice fish, otherwise you'll need to keep going out to where the waves are breaking. (Heed the advice on currents if you go further out.) The location was exactly what we wanted - a little outside George Town, but an easy enough drive in. It's definitely away from the crowds, with not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity, and very safe ( well, the whole island felt very safe anyway). Some favorite activities apart from lounging on the beach: I completed my scuba training at Ocean Frontiers in the East End (literally the east end of the island) - a 25 minute drive. Highly recommended. Great people and the dive sites they take you to are amazing. On the way there is the famous Lighthouse restaurant. Unfortunately the weather was grey and very windy when we wanted to eat there, so the outside dining areas were closed. But the inside is nice, too. We enjoyed a few trips into George Town and Seven Mile Beach - particularly liked the tiki bar at the Cracked Conch opposite the Turtle Farm (take your snorkel and jump right in from the bar), Cemetery Reef Beach little further south, Rackhams, a pub/grill place near the port that also has steps down into the water, Smiths Cove near the famous Grand Old House restaurant. We also followed Tom's advice and bought fresh fish from the guys in the port to cook in the condo. One week was too short. We definitely hope to be back.
