About Tom Goodwin
We are Canadians, we live in Ottawa, Ontario. We love to spend as much time as possible in the Caribbean! We have bounced around the Caribbean a bit, and had properties in the Bahamas and Dominican Republic, and each had their drawbacks. We have settled in Cayman for the combination of reliable weather, year round warm water, low crime, safety, and the abundance of diving and snorkeling sites.
Tom Goodwin purchased this Condo in 2012
Why Tom Goodwin chose George Town
We chose our condo in Coral Bay Village for several reasons: We were looking for direct beachfront, but prefer quiet areas. We wanted to be able to grab our masks and jump in the water without having to drive anywhere. We like that the restaurants and services of Georgetown are close enough to be convenient. yet far enough away to truly enjoy the quiet sounds of the ocean. We also enjoy tennis, and the newly surfaced court is top quality. Tom & Megan
What makes this Condo unique
Direct beachfront is what we cherish about this property. So many 'beachfront' properties are second row, third row, side view etc. We love that we can sit on our lanai and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean. Speaking of our lanai, it is very private. Even though in a condo you have neighbours in close proximity, with the walls of the lanai we have fully privacy sitting outside, something we value. The reef protected waters off our beach are a popular feeding / breeding area for sea turtles, which makes this the best spot on the island for seeing turtles in their nature habitat.

A beautiful waterfront oasis
We had the strange luck of staying at this property during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic... so our stay was probably far from typical. That said, the condo itself was everything that was advertised and more! There were plenty of supplies, from towels, to linens, to kitchen staples. The beach was beautiful, the water was amazing, and the view was incredible. We rented a car and felt that the location was just about perfect as a "home base" from which to explore the island. Georgetown and the Seven Mile beach area were a short drive away, as were other locations such as the blowholes and the Botanic Gardens.
The property manager made herself available whenever needed and gave some much appreciated recommendations for restaurants, grocery stores, and attractions.
This was our first time in the Cayman Islands and based on this experience we're hoping it's far from our last!
Great week @ Coral Bay
Tom’s property was perfect for the 3 of us. Plenty of snorkeling and relaxing. Always able to get a chair in the shade to read. Easy to get to the grocery store. Played tennis and finished 2 books. Loved it!
Great rental with awesome beach and central location
Really enjoyed our stay here. The beach was perfect for relaxing and snorkeling (turtles practically guaranteed, just watch the water for a while and you'll see a head poke up). The section in front of the building was very quiet and we often had this part of the beach to ourselves. The condo was clean and well appointed, with just the right touch of Caribbean flavor.
The best part of this rental, though, was the central location. We never felt far from anywhere, and that was a huge plus for our first visit. Kids appreciated the short drives too.
Cruise ships did anchor out front the last two days as George Town was too rough, but it was a neat change on the horizon. That said, glad they weren't there the whole week!
Didn’t know what to expect staying on the “other side” of the island but I liked it. I had a great view, nice beach. My only problem was getting grocery store-I’d recommend car rental. I will definitely return.
Great Pre-Wedding Getaway
We came down for the first time to Cayman for a Family vacation and chose Tom’s place on the recommendation of a friend that stayed there previously. It did not disappoint. We had such a fabulous time and the location was perfect for making visits to either side of the island easy. Definitely rent a car. Melinda was wonderful in setting everything up before and when we arrived. Such a great stay!
Thanks for the great review! I am pleased to hear you had a great holiday, and happy wedding!!
