It is hard to beat the location or size of this loft. Located just off of boulevard St. Laurent and Duluth, the loft is surrounded by nightlife, restaurants, shopping, spas, and lots of kid-friendly places, literally in every direction!
The loft has a total of three bedrooms, one of which can be divided into two with a curtain; each side has its own entrance through an antique rolling door. The loft has two private bedrooms, each with queen beds. The bunk room can be divided with a curtain to make two rooms; it has a double bed and a double over double bunk bed, for a total of three double beds in one very big room. Each side of this room has it's own entrance through antique, industrial, rolling wood doors.
There are two couches in the living room; one is a pull-out. All beds are provided with quality, clean linens and plenty of pillows; all mattresses are less than a year old and everything is encased in protective guards. Half of the mattresses are memory foam and the other half are conventional spring mattresses, so every sleeper can find their comfort zone. It isn't a vacation without good sleep!
There are two bathrooms. One is a luxury bath with both a large shower and a claw foot tub; the other bathroom has a toilet and small sink, making this location more comfortable for three or four mature students or a family.
Spacious, renovated, the loft is two blocks from boulevard St. Laurent and in between Rachel and Duluth (famous for bring your own wine restaurants). The loft also boasts a flats screen TV with Apple TV, Netflix, a DVD/BlueRay player (please bring your own). No cable or phone is provided. Formerly an industrial space in a residential building, the loft is located on the 1st floor (5 interior stairs up), with a large entry way opening into a kitchen stocked with all the necessary cooking gear. There are two tables that can be used to eat at or grab a bar stool. A welcoming space with everything you need to enjoy your time in Montreal, including wireless internet, washer, dryer, dishwasher, kitchen, towels, and an iron. Most importantly, this space has a great energy. Everyone notices it.
The location is ideal, at least from the perspective of this Montreal resident! The loft is located in the Plateau just off St-Laurent and Duluth, near downtown and McGill University, within blocks of Montreal's world-renowned festivals (Just for Laughs, International Jazz Festival, St. Laurent Street Fair, etc.) and surrounded by Montreal's best restaurants, shopping, cafes and nightlife. Within 10 minutes of two metros and minutes from many major bus routes, this loft is central but not in the tourist centre. A short walk to the famous Sunday Tam Tam, Schwartz’s famous smoked meat, Moishes steakhouse, Le Resevoir, and Romados chicken, and the neighborhood street festivals that happen all summer, the location is ideal for different adventures in Montreal on foot, by public transport, bixi bike (many stands nearby) or one of Montreal’s famous bike tours.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Marie's loft! It was perfect for us. We were a group of friends traveling to Montreal for New Years. We were there about a week. Having the kitchen made a huge difference... and the location was perfect for us. Easy to get to bars/restaurants and the metro stations. I'd highly recommend Marie and her loft!
We stayed here at the start of July while Montreal was undergoing a mini heat wave with our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids). The loft is set up with a great use of space, as everyone had their own bed. There was lots of place to lounge about in the living room and kitchen, and the apartment was very well equipped with everything you might need. Air conditioning worked great. The apartment truly was an easy walk (less than 30 minutes) from everything you might want to see, from Old Montreal to St. Laurent (the main). Bixi station was at the end of the block, couldn't be easier. Marie was also a kind and helpful host. Would totally recommend this place! PS It looks much cooler in person than it does in the pictures; they really don't do it justice.
Great location, within walking distance of anything you could possibly need and a short 10 minute cab ride to downtown.
Comfortably slept 9 guys. Marie is very accommodating with any needs. Highly recommended for a stay in Montreal.
The loft has lots of space and can easily accommodate large groups. The location is also great!
This funky and fun "loft" (only 5 interior wide steps and one exterior step) is perfect;y located in the Plateau area. A lot of restaurants, shops and parks are a 5 - 20 minute walk away. Downtown and the Old Port are short cab rides as is the Jean Talon Market. Our family of 6 adults, plus 3 adult partners (arriving and leaving) , plus Grandma who uses a walker and needs help with stairs, as well as various visiting friends had ample space for eating, playing board games and watching movies. The kitchen has everything needed to cook good meals. ie blender, good pots and pans, various coffee makers and a decent size fridge. Two full bathrooms and a very good washer / dryer makes life easy. Three big sofas and a large coffee table as well as lots of occasional chairs provide seating for many. We put two tables together and easily seated several for Christmas dinner. The bathrooms are well stocked with many great fluffy towels and and a large selection of shampoos, soaps and body washes, hair dryer and many sundries. (great shower water pressure) Very good pillows and bed linens too! There is also basically no noise from any apts around you. There is no outdoor area which in winter doesn't matter. Beautiful, huge Parc Lafontaine is a 12 minute walk away. Parking is scarce but we managed quite well, even in the face of a storm that dumped 40 cms in a day, with our large GMC Sierra Crew Cab truck and a medium sized Hyundai SUV. Fold your side mirrors in! Seriously. Marie was perfect at emailing us lots of handy info in a very timely fashion and is very friendly and helpful person. We really couldn't have selected a better place for our 10 day stay.
8 of us went to Montreal for a long weekend and this loft had everything that we needed! It slept all of us comfortably, was very clean and had a great open room for hanging out. It was in a great location just off one of the main streets in Montreal (Saint Laurent) which had many bars, pubs, shopping and great restaurants. It was about a half hour walk to Old Montreal but we took MontrealUber or cabs and it was only short ride. We would definitely recommend this loft to others and would stay here again if we came back to Montreal!
very spacious and comfortable. much warmer and cozier than the pictures give it credit for.
four coworkers/friends stayed together for a meeting in town, each had their own room (note the curtain separating two of the rooms; not a big deal). 2 bathrooms so no one was ever waiting.
well located to visit montreal sights, get good food within walking distance and relax comfortably. only bumped into marie (host) at the end of our stay, but her emails in advance were great and we went to quite a few of the places she recommended (Else's was the best (not fancy) food we had in town!)
anyway, would happily stay there again
