Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
This property was just what we needed for a coastal getaway weekend! The location was great and loved the house. We took many day trips over to Yachats, OR and along the coast and it was wonderful to come "home" to build a fire and cook dinner. We would definitely stay in this home again. Thanks!
Spent a week at this property, could have stayed longer. The carpet was the only issue experienced.
Very nice property nicely located in the incomparable central Oregon coast.
The overall impression of the property was that it was a bit worn and drab looking. It does not quite measure up to the picture.
Communication and directions were excellent.
Parking was no problem, quiet neighborhood.
The wi-fi was excellent! My husband measured it at 50 meg.
The great room and main floor had a lovely design.
The stone fireplace was extremely cozy.
The windows with their floor to ceiling ocean views were amazing!
Bathrooms and kitchen well supplied and clean.
Enjoyed the custom soaps and lotions left for our use.
Maintenance came quickly when called.
Waldport is a great location, with fun shops, great restaurants, and things to do just to the north in Newport and just to the south in Yachats.
The neighborhood beach is close and very nice. Very few people. We had the beach mostly to ourselves.
The less than ideal:
The home was worn and dated. It would be really lovely with a face lift.
Carpet was stained.
The tub upstairs was a bit slippery and needs the anti-slip strips for safety.
Doors to laundry closet come off their tracks.
The place was hot and stuffy when we arrived. I assumed air conditioning was a standard amenity, but I don't think it had any.
The shades need to be drawn in the afternoon/evening to prevent overheating in the loft. That, and opening windows, did keep it a comfortable temperature without air conditioning.
The view from Sandpiper's Nest is lovely, and the deck offers a most pleasant place to relax outside and enjoy the sounds of ocean, breeze, and birds. The cottage itself is a mixed bag--design reminiscent of a Fay Jones layout (lots of built-ins, different levels, cathedral ceiling, sunken LR, etc.--but no fine architectural touches). Lovely space, but in need of updating and maintenance. While basically comfortable, a little love & care would improve the overall feel. Downstairs BR is dark and close. Upstairs loft BR open and shares bath w/adjacent space containing futon and desk. While all this open space offers more light than a comparable aged home in this location would, it's also noisy, so consider that when planning rental for more than 2 people. Kitchen, galley-sized, is well-equipped w/smallware and modern dishwasher (no garbage disposal). Good laundry equipment. Location--though not ocean-front, is a short walk down the road to a lovely stretch of beach and neighborhood is nice. On the north side of the Alsea Bay bridge--close to Waldport and not far from Newport and all the amazing sights along that stretch of Oregon Coast .
Would recommend w/reservations--if you're looking for new and in shiny, tip-top condition, this isn't the house for you. If a little more rustic or that ambience of a beach house that's been in the family for years--maybe a little worn but still sweet, then you'll like it here.
