About Jeff and Sherry Ross

We have lived in Dahlonega for 15 years and love the town with all of the many things it has to offer. Owning, restoring and keeping up with this cabin has been a treat for us, our family and now to our guests. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Jeff and Sherry Ross purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Jeff and Sherry Ross chose Dahlonega

We chose this property after seeing it one time. It is a beautiful, historic, convenient, relaxing and fabulous get-a-way that is close to town but with the feel of out in the country.

Originally just a one room cabin with an outhouse, we feel privileged to be able to preserve it and the property's humble beginnings and share it with our guests.

What makes this cabin unique

Creek runs through entire property.

Trails to walk.

Close to town.

Clean and newly remodeled.

Chimney Creek cabin is the perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely cabin for a couple of days

Just to unwind after Christmas. It is just lovely in every way. We

spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace (wood!) just reminiscing

Over a glass of wine. The cabin has everything you need with an

Incredibly comfortable bed, lavish linens, and coffee for the morning -

The view out the kitchen window will relax you before you even walk

Outside. Can't wait to come back in the Spring and spend all weekend

Sitting by that stream. You won't be disappointed if you try the Bourbon

St grille and La Vigne restaurant at the Montaluce winery for dinner - both

We're excellent. Thank you Sherry and Jeff for your attentive response to

All questions!

Perfect setting in the North Georgia mountains

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the cabin. The size was quaint and perfect for two people. We enjoyed reading about how the current owners came to possess the property and their sweat and hard work to make it into a true mountain retreat.

The driveway is a doozy.....maybe adding additional paving to make turning around a little easier would benefit future guests. At night, one of us had to stand outside and guide the driver backwards to ensure we stayed on the pavement and not tumble into the creek.

The bedding was superb and there were little extra touches throughout the entire cabin. We might even purchase a sound machine after enjoying the one provided in the bedroom.

Charming

  • 5 of 5

Amazing. Location was perfect and close to everything. Exceeded any expectations I had of the home and property. I LOVED the robes with the modern bathroom feel! It made me feel like i was in a mini spa. Unfortunately, there is one thing you can’t capture in a picture, is the sound. Opening the beautiful vintage window and hearing what the property has to offer is a must. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get away and live the simple life.

Turned a task into a joy.

  • 5 of 5

My husband had to renew his Family Practice Board certification and chose to take the exam in Dahlonega because he had attended college there. Though testing from 9am to 5 pm is quite stressful, the cabin was so charming and relaxing that we actually enjoyed ourselves immensely.

From the time we arrived, it felt like our own little hideaway. The creek flowing by and the trails calling us to explore seemed like old friends, happy to have us back.

The cabin is small, but lives large and has everything a couple would need. The oversized chair in the living area was perfect for snuggling while watching a movie and the windows opened to allow the sound of the creek to waft in. The shower was perfect and hot, and most importantly, the bed was very comfortable! I loved the smell of the linens so much I asked Sherry what laundry supplies she uses and bought some of my own as soon as I got home.

I found Sherry to be immediately responsive when I texted and I seriously hope we can go to lunch the next time we visit.

We ate at several restaurants while there, and would have to say the Yahoola Grill is by far the best food in Dahlonega. The atmosphere is upscale-casual and the menu has everything from burgers to fresh fish.

The short and lovely drive to Gainesville is worth the trip for more extensive shopping and additional restaurant choices.

The only negative would be that the cabin is close enough to the road that you can here car noise while the windows are open, but the traffic is only significant during common rush hour times.

If you need and respit, relaxation with a little bit of adventure, I would definitely visit this little gem.
