About Jeff and Sherry Ross

We have lived in Dahlonega for 15 years and love the town with all of the many things it has to offer. Owning, restoring and keeping up with this cabin has been a treat for us, our family and now to our guests. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!

Jeff and Sherry Ross purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Jeff and Sherry Ross chose Dahlonega

We chose this property after seeing it one time. It is a beautiful, historic, convenient, relaxing and fabulous get-a-way that is close to town but with the feel of being out in the woods.

Originally just a one room cabin with an outhouse, we feel privileged to be able to preserve it and the property's humble beginnings and share it with our guests.

What makes this cabin unique

Creek runs through entire property.

Trails to walk.

Close to town.

Clean and newly remodeled.

The cottage was perfect. Very clean and everything it said it would be. Wonderful for taking morning walks. Beautiful creek that runs through the property...

We had a great trip! Close to town and the property is secluded and next to a gorgeous creek. Loved our stay, we will definitely return.

Great cabin, accommodating hosts, difficult driveway

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was initially hard to find because the driveway is small and hidden. The cabin itself is so cute and the property was fun to explore! The only downside of our trip was the driveway- it’s extremely tricky to get out of in a large suv so we then tried to second drive to see if it may be easier to turn around. Our car got stuck in mud so we had to call a tow truck. The tow truck then got stuck because the steep drive is covered in slick moss. Another truck came to get us both out. The second drive is a little misleading because it appears safe to drive down but is actually extremely slick when wet. This caused us to end the trip early and head home before staying our second night, but otherwise we loved the cabin and location to nearby hiking, downtown, and vineyards.

Owner's Response: We offer a heartfelt apology that you had trouble with the driveway. Being a wooded, creekside, cabin property in the foothills of the mountains we are not able to provide the flat, large driving convenience that a more urban landscape would offer and in an effort to keep our property as natural as possible, the main paved cabin driveway might not be convenient for guests with very large vehicles. We strive to give our guests a relaxing getaway so we have blocked off vehicle access to the woods and picnic area past the pavement of the lower driveway with the hopes that this does not happen to another guest.

Absolutely Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This was truly the best VRBO experience we have had (and we have had many wonderful experiences.) The cottage is absolutely lovely, and the surroundings are magical. Some reviews mentioned road noise, but we were never disturbed by that. Even after four nights, I kept noticing the little, special details, like binoculars and walking sticks, left for our enjoyment. The linens were luxurious, and the bathroom was great with a large spa-type shower. We WILL be back to Chimney Creek Cabin!

Chimney Creek cabin is the perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely cabin for a couple of days

Just to unwind after Christmas. It is just lovely in every way. We

spent a lot of time in front of the fireplace (wood!) just reminiscing

Over a glass of wine. The cabin has everything you need with an

Incredibly comfortable bed, lavish linens, and coffee for the morning -

The view out the kitchen window will relax you before you even walk

Outside. Can't wait to come back in the Spring and spend all weekend

Sitting by that stream. You won't be disappointed if you try the Bourbon

St grille and La Vigne restaurant at the Montaluce winery for dinner - both

We're excellent. Thank you Sherry and Jeff for your attentive response to

All questions!
