About Elsie Mae Clements
We fell in love with Niagara-on-the-Lake while we were dating. It has been our favorite get-away spot for years. Now that we have our young family, a home here just seemed to be irresistible. We love this town and want our children to know its rich culture, history and the feeling of living in a small town. We hope that we can share this experience with our guests as well!
Why Elsie Mae Clements chose Historic Old Town
We wanted something that had character, was modern and yet still had a unique feel. Located in heart of the down town, we noticed so many diverse styles of homes. From classic Georgian, to brick bungalows, to quaint cottages, to historic gems, but somehow the Peaks on Gate Street felt like home to us. It gave us the space we needed, a floor plan that is modern and convenient. It also offered character and inspired us to bring our own uniqueness to it! I love to cook, so the kitchen was a big bonus. The commercial grade appliances, marble counter tops and the decor just inspires me to new culinary heights!
What makes this House unique
The Peaks on Gate is one of a kind! The bathrooms are very contemporary, the kitchen is a dream for any cook, and the convenience of open concept makes everyone feel together. Sleeping quarters are away from the 'action' so anyone wanting some quiet time or a good nights sleep can pop off early. Or for those early risers they can make coffee without fear of disturbing your other traveling friends. Having the kitchen located just off the outdoor patio bring the outdoors in, and the indoors out. Allowing for easy serving and quick clean up! The location is perfect, just 2 streets away from Queen Street (the main street in NOTL) with grocery store, shopping, food boutiques, wine stores, theatre and parks. Love old town charm but like a contemporary style, The Peaks on Gate Street is your home-away-from-home!

Historic Old Town Nigara on the Lake
Good house for several couples. Very quiet neighborhood and walking distance to shopping and restaurants
Perfect for a quick friends getaway
We really enjoyed staying at this house - it was perfect for what we needed. Very comfortable beds, plenty of linens and towels. The living room space is very cozy with the fire and kitchen all in one space. It was raining so we didn't use the deck, but it looked lovely. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment, but heads up, no ingredients basics (eg oil, S&P etc), which we could have brought along had we known. No worries, though! Plenty of fabulous places to eat just a 5 minute walk down on Queen St. We also did a bike tour via Zoom Leisure, which was conveniently a 5 min walk in the other direction. We couldn't have been happier. Thank you!
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We'll make sure there is some cooking spray and S&P stocked for next time.
Nice clean house
We had a great stay. There were 6 of us and the place was clean and neat. It was a good set up for 3 couples. A nice open space to gather for meals, and private bedrooms with our own bathrooms. Very convenient. The only upgrade required is a larger TV in the main area. We laughed at how small the TV was. Other than that, a good place to stay.
This house is perfect for a group of friends such as ourselves or family. It is spotlessly clean as are all of the kitchen items. It is very well positioned for the local town and the proximity to Niagara Falls is just right. I wouldn’t want to be to close to that area for a stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the local amenities. We have no hesitation in recommending this property.
Beautiful home right in town
We stayed in Peaks on Gate for 2 nights recently during a trip to the Niagara region. The home is beautiful and is a newer construcion compared to most in the area. It is a brief walk to Queen street and the shops/dining. I was there with my wife, my sister and my parents so the layout with 3 bedrooms, each with an en suite bath, was ideal, with the master being on the ground level so my parents did not have to navigate stairs.
The kitchen was beautiful and well outfitted although we did not use it much . The furniture and beds were comfortable. The home was very clean overall. Janet was very responsive and helpful with some great restaurant recommendations. The soaps and shower gels from a local purveyor were great. The provided board games and books/magazines were a nice touch. Constructive recommendations would include a larger tv in the main living area and small units in each of the upstairs bedrooms although there is one in the room between the 2 upstairs bedrooms but this is a minor thing as most will probably use the tv minimally. All in all I would gladly stay in this home, or any of Janet and Eric's properties again and plan to on return trips.
Beautiful new home within walking distance to town!
We loved our 2 night stay in this fantastic, beautifully decorated home. We each had our own bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The house is very spacious, the kitchen is wonderful and well equipped, and the living room is quite comfortable, too! We loved being able to just park the car and walk to town.
Peaks on Gate is a 10 minute walk to Shaw Theater, horse drawn carriage rides meander through the town, parks with wading pool and picnic tables, world class restaurants and Queen Street which is the main street of Niagara-on-the-Lake are all within a 5 - 10 minute walk away.
