About Beverly Rains
Native Oklahomans, we live and work in Tulsa. We manage real estate and provide legal services to the oil and gas industry. We reared 5 children, 4 of whom still live in Oklahoma. The 5th is off in WA.
Beverly Rains purchased this House in 2010
Why Beverly Rains chose Ranchos de Taos
We added this wonderful casita to provide more room for our expanding family and also to have a home for smaller parties to stay in.
What makes this House unique
This inviting home gives you a real taste of southwest style! You'll love the kiva fireplace and the beautiful wood ceilings thoughout the house. You'll be close to the mountains, but only a short drive into town.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Cosy and beautiful casita
We loved staying in this warm and beautiful casita. Everything is brand new and perfectly decorated. Taos was exceptionally cold during our visit so it was great to come back to warmth and comfort after a long day. We will definitely book it again in the future.
All Went Well
A nice casita along Rt. 518 about 7 minutes from of Taos with a cozy ambiance and close to hiking trails. The directions Beverly provided were easy to follow and all went smoothly. Very well apportioned, and while I only cooked one dinner, cooking there would be as easy or better than at home! Some traffic noise during the hours of going and returning from work. A nice walk out back over the stream and through a wooded community. Nice secluded patio for morning coffee or evening hot tub. Gracious hosts. Thanks.
Great place to stay, beautiful home with all you need ready to go.
Working with Beverly is a breeze. The property is beautiful and close to many wonderful areas. We stay to have access to the Carson National Forest. The home is always clean and well prepared to have guests.
A Dream Come True!
This casita holds so many of the traditions of a northern New Mexico culture while having the conveniences of today's technologies. Be far from civilization when you want and in touch with the world at your finger tips. Opened up a deck of cards stored in one of the drawers and played some games. Went hiking towards Serpent Lake (mile marker 167 on Hwy 518) on a cool, cloudy afternoon. The evening sky was filled with stars and a partial moon which was easy to see from the hot tub that soothed the aching muscles from the hike. Took a day trip to Capulin Volcano National Monument through Angel Fire and Cimarron (beautiful scenery) and hiked around the crater. On the way there, we were mesmerized by the Palisades (see this incredible rock formation for yourself). The Folsom Museum in Folsom near Capulin is more than interesting. Enjoyed a day on the plaza in Taos and in Ranchos de Taos too. Took a drive to the old, little village of Cordova and purchased some wood carvings from the same woodcarver's home. Stopped in Chimayo where the holy Sanctuario is located and visited the eighth generation Ortega family weaving shop. Even purchased some wonderful wool placemats and coasters for friends' 30th wedding anniversary. All in all, would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you Beverly, Rich
From my 1st communication with Beverly, everything was a breeze. She answered my "in depth" questions patiently & pleasantly. This trip was a quiet getaway for my husband and I and proved to surpass our expectations.
Our stay was for 4 nights. We arrived after dark (we took Beverly's suggestion for dinner in Chimayo on our way from Santa Fe - amazing!) expecting to have some difficulties finding our way in. Everything was just as Beverly described, thankfully.
We spent most of our daylight hours out of the house, excited for our return each evening to this home, the stars, the hot tub. . .made it the perfect end to each day.
As noted, this trip was just for 2. We plan on returning with our 2 kids next year. This home easily accommodates 4.
We're so glad your trip was all you hoped for and more! We think it is the perfect place to relax as a couple, but it is equipped for 4 so you won't have to worry about running out of dishes or linens on your return trip. Come back soon!
Wonderful Privacy and Serenity
This was certainly one of the best homes I've had the opportunity to stay in. The house and the property were gorgeous and close to a hiking trail (Rio Grande del Rancho) parallel to the highway. Being about 5 miles outside of town was very nice and peaceful, not that Taos has a lot of "hustle and bustle" to escape from. It only takes about 10 minutes to get into town where there are lots of nice shops in the plaza and in John Dunn Shops (adjacent to the main plaza) are restaurants/bars/live music. House is nicely decorated, there are multiple firepits and it is just so cute, welcoming, and clean! Wifi great, hot tub great. You can easily drive down to Santa Fe for a day as well. It was definitely a fantastic retreat that I would love to stay at again. Not Uber & Lyft friendly, so plan on driving everywhere you go.
Thank you so much for this informative, helpful review! We are very glad you had a good time. Our goal is for all of our guests to have a vacation that is completely restorative, fun and memorable.
Beautiful scenic drives to Santa Fe, easy drive to hot springs and mud bath of Ojo Caliente, 10 minutes to museums, shops, galleries and restaurants of Taos and Ranchos de Taos. Taos Ski Valley or Angel Fire each 45 minute drive. Visit Taos Pueblo and the Rio Grande Gorge
