A dream vacation awaits amongst spectacular Dallas Road. This area is popular for afternoon jogs, diving and weekends with the family. The nearby breakwater has its very own dive store with Ogden Point Cafe on the top floor. Charters are also available for more remote diving. Throughout the summer large cruise ships dock at Ogden Point on their way to Alaska. Many locals and tourists gather to admire the stunning engineering.

Arrived at the home to discover a wonderful welcoming home. It was close to the ocean in a very desirable neighbourhood. I would come again and recommend to anyone for any reason.

Great location, wonderful home, highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

Our family ( consisting of ourselves, adult daughter and son-in-law, and my sister-in-law) spent 4 nights in this lovely rancher with basement close to Clover Point and the beach. The owner was wonderfully accommodating, answering any questions promptly and courteously. The house itself was inviting ( lights on when we arrived in the dark), as well as two bottles of wine and a tin of cookies on the table. Yum! I had brought what felt like everything but the kitchen sink with us, expecting few, if any, extras such as shampoo, conditioner, hand cream and a normally bare kitchen ( ie no ziploc bags, Saran Wrap, foil, tea, coffee, sugar, spices etc...etc.) Was I pleasantly surprised! There was nothing we did not find or could want for. My family got tired of my praises.

The 2 bedrooms ( two king beds) were perfect for the adult couples and downstairs was equally as comfortable for my sister-in-law. Bedsides....she had her own bathroom!

We were minutes by car from downtown and the area that the p VRBO is located in (Fairfield) has it's own shopping area. In the summer, you are not far away from the wonderful Moss St market that our daughter (who lives in Victoria) frequents on a regular basis. Close to the beach area makes for great walks including down and around Clover Point.

We enjoyed a tour of the Parliament Buildings, Craigdarrock Castle and a drive out to and walk around Fort Rodd Hill.

Families such as ours ( all adults) or those with children, couples or friends retreat couldn't go wrong.

Thanks so much for sharing your home away from home with us.

One caveat to Canadian tourists: VRBO niow displays in US currency.

At Home in Victoria

  • 5 of 5

We spent a few days here in September as a family with two small children. The home was perfect for us with many bonus details like a play pen, high chair, kid friendly tableware and even a box of toys to discover. Kitchen was well appointed and easy to cook in. We had some warm September days and loved the pool and great location close to Cook St Village, Beacon hill park and the ocean. Lots of room for us to spread out, comfy beds and furniture. Would recommend!

Better than imagined!

This property is a gem! Our group was made up of three couples in our 50's, 60's. We had ample room to be together playing cards, watching TV, dining. We also had ample room to be apart when desired. My husband and I claimed the bedroom downstairs which has it's own bath. He took the futon and I took the bottom bunk. There is now an electric fireplace on the wall which was such a treat for warmth and comfort. Very nice addition. All beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of extra bedding. There are nice big chairs to relax in upstairs as well as around the pool. Although the pool wasn't open the weather was gorgeous and we found ourselves spending time reading, playing cards, and sunning beside it. The owners have included every possible amenity from laundry detergent to shampoo and conditioner. We walked to the Clover Point and then down to the Breakwater Cafe and onto the Breakwater. It was a healthy 5+ mile walk round trip mostly along the waterfront trail. We also chartered a fishing boat (Island Outfitters, ask for Zane) several days and brought home our limit of halibut and some salmon. We made a quick stop at WalMart for insulated coolers (-$30)(not styrofoam) to check with Alaska Air for our trip home. We packed this up at the last minute as wet ice is not permitted on board the plane. Dry Ice and gel ice are allowed. Next time we would look to rent a freezer as we filled the house freezer and had little room for the all important cocktail ice or food. If you have issues with the TV you can call or chat online with Telus(?). They helped us very quickly. There is a printer for boarding passes and lots of delivery/take-out options for meals. The owners have a three-ring binder full of items of interest in the house and in the surrounding area. The garden out front is gorgeous! There is new home construction next door, but we barely noticed it so don't be concerned. There is a small suite that can be rented downstairs as well. We could hear occasional noise, but again were not bothered at all.

If you're lucky you will get to meet the owners as we did. They are delightful people. Very welcoming. We highly recommend this place. It is a slice of heaven!

Great spot in Victoria

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely location and a nice home home to come back to. We so enjoyed getting up for a early walk along the beach. There was a terrific coffee shop and health food store within walking distance. The very best Indian restaurant we have ever been to was a short drive away, as well as all the delights downtown Victoria has to offer. We had two teen boys with us, checking out UVic as a possibility and they were happy with our choice of where to stay as well. Can't do better than that! Thank you much and Aloha from Hawaii

A Great VRBO

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent 5 days in this VRBO which is located half a block from the Dallas Road and the ocean. It was a fantastic location, near to Beacon Hill Park and not far from the main artery, Douglas Street. The accommodation was very clean, very comfortable, plenty of seating and space for our group of 4 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms were very large with very comfortable beds and additional furniture. The kitchen was fully equipped and had items that we weren't expecting, like coffee, spices, , etc. The complimentary wine and cookies were a very nice touch and made us feel very welcome. We were unable to control the heat but a quick text to the owner solved that problem as she immediately responded with her ability to adjust it. We would definitely stay at this VRBO again!
