Why Trey Derrick chose Cóbano
I chose Manzanillo because it is far enough away from the action and the congestion of Santa Teresa, but close enough to hop in the car or on a 4-wheeler and have access to anything and everything one could want - and most importantly, the private and pristine beaches and the outstanding surfing and fishing Manzanillo has to offer!
What makes this Bungalow unique
The bungalows are surrounded by a plethora of indigenous trees, and the pool has a very old endangered Guayacan tree on the ocean side. The entire property is 3 hectares (approx. 7.5 acres) and is connected by walking trails with ocean views from almost every corner of the property. The property has been reforested and planted which has brought back the birds, butterflies and animals to the property. You can sit anywhere on the property and hear the waves crashing below down at Punta Pochote.

Just love this place
I came here in the past and just loved it. The changes Trey has made since I stayed last are just incredible. The brewery and restaraunt are just awesome. I never left the days the brewery was open, so convenient and just great food and beer. Trey helps with everything and makes certain everyone is happy. The wildlife is absolutely unbelievable. A troop of monkeys came through at least once a day usually twice. Trey made sure I met everyone who came by and made me feel like family. I went for my 50th birthday and will return as soon as I can. You better hurry before everyone hears about this place it cannot stay this perfect for long.
Fun times by the ocean
Nice cozy bungalow with efficient AC for a good night sleep. Quite confortable and neat. Location is just out of the way of the more touristic areas so it gets really quiet at night. Nice view of the ocean and sunrises while being a short walk away from the beach. Monkeys show up everyday to feed on the trees offering a nice spectacle for a lunch on the balcony.
The property was even more beautiful in person than in the photos. In a fifteen minute drive you go from the cluttered street(s) of Santa Teresa and in to a jungle paradise. Everything was clean and more than comfortable, with amazing views looking to the ocean or down into the jungle. I loved the rainy October days as everything was so lush and the sound of the rain was very relaxing. Trey was a wonderful host and was there to help with anything I needed. The property dog, Zina came and greeted me each morning and was very sweet. The other wildlife on the property was abundant, howler monkeys and white faced, parrots, red squirrels, iguanas, etc. Overall I could not have asked for a better trip, if you like the rain and want to go somewhere to relax I would recommend Senderos De Paz in October. I will definitely be coming back soon!
Wonderful relaxing refuge where the heart of the jungle meets the ocean!
I traveled to Costa Rica alone over the New Years holiday and found myself at the most wonderful nourishing refuge, Sanderos de Paz! I was able to deeply relax on this land. I had my own cozy bungalow with my own beautiful bathroom and kitchen. It was my own little slice of paradise. I loved having my breakfast and my morning coffee on the sweet patio surrounded by luscious gardens, looking out at the ocean. What could be better than that!? I felt safe and excited to take the short walks down to the beach where I floated in the water for hours. I even saw a family of monkeys on one of my walks back! If I didn't want to go to the beach, I was able to just relax by the pool and take a swim from time to time. The remote town did had some good restaurants and everyone very nice. It wasn't a tourist trap. It felt very traditional and local. One of the best parts of this place was how helpful Trey (the owner) was! He seemed to always be there to help out if I needed directions and information, or if I just needed more water! I felt very taken care of here! I would recommend Senderos de Paz to anyone who is wanting to experience the magic of Costa Rica!
