my husband and I cherish our life in southern vermont, raising our three children. We bike, hike and ski the local terrain. We rise at the break of dawn to garden or run or
We recently renovated our sweet cabin to share with friends and family. It is separated from our main home by woods. We welcome visitors to enjoy our lovely vermont homestead.
Lisa Ford purchased this cabin in 2002
My girlfriend and I were looking for a quiet get away in vermont and this place was definately a fantastic choice on our part. It's an adorable size; very small but that only adds to the aesthetic. It gives off a "grandmas cottage" type of feel, welcoming you with the warm scent of organic soaps, oven cooking and mellow, mountain pawn decore.
The owner is also appeared to be a very sweet, genuine woman. I never formally met her, but she spoke very politely and deliberately went out of her way to assure we would have a wonderful stay there whilst also assuring our privacy.
Over all this cabin was just what we were looking for and more; the only thing negative i can gather from my stay was that the hot water heater was incredibly small and made showering a challenge (especially when the knobs are both confusing/unreliable). The stove also only has one setting for its temperature (its pretty old). These two problems, however, are legitimately it though. The host provided all the firewood you need, soaps and shampoos, bath robes, tools such as an axe/snow shovel, candles for dinner, full cooking utensils, an assortment of teas, a long list of places to go or things to do nearby, places to eat, and offered discounts for multiple things.
I hightly recommend this cabin; 10/10 its got a kind size bed with memory foam, what more do you want
This cozy little cabin hosted everything we were after in a hectic life's get away
Had a pleasant stay at this cozy cottage. Quite unique little cabin, loved the privacy, you can drive in and out and not have to face the owners if you don't want to. The space is just enough for 2 people, loved the bedroom which takes up the entire upper floor - kinda steep staircase, but loved the hand-carved guard rail, without that baby it would be a tad treacherous, but adventurous nonetheless. No TV, which was nice, actually. But great Wi-Fi. No A/C, but they graciously provided a fan. The front deck is really cool too, we had most of our meals there, with nothing but nature surrounding. OK - The Number One coolest thing about our stay was the owner's text back to me on our last morning (which was Sunday, we just stayed the weekend) saying 'feel free to stay the day' -- RU kidding? No one has ever done that for me and my wife before -- thanks! That allowed us to head into town to find a church after a lazy sleepy morning, then we rode our bikes on this nice river trail, came back, had a late lunch, then eventually left (reluctantly!). Brattleboro is actually a pretty quaint little place. Lots of kayaking to do, plus hiking trails (we visited the Retreat farm trails). Nightlife ain't bad either, great restaurants. So, the cabin was great, had a nice fire pit too, but we just were too lazy. And, it's just as the title implies, well done.
My wife and I spent 4 nights in this cozy little cabin. We found it to be very quaint and perfect for our needs. It was as described and clean. We were visiting Vermont for our first wedding anniversary. We found it to be very cozy. It had every thing we needed (comfortable bed, shower with hot water, small refrig and small stove). We enjoyed setting out on the deck. We used it as home base as we explored Vermont and Mass. Brattleboro is a nearby town that has plenty of restaurants and other stores. Lisa the owner checked on us by email but was not intrusive. Would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a quite place to get away.
Had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was cozy & had everything I needed. Wanted a place to get away to relax and this was just the spot. The location was convenient to visit Brattleboro and other towns in the area. I would certainly come back.
It's a lovely little cabin. Overall very clean and equipped with everything we needed. There's pots and pans to cook something, a couch in front of the fireplace and a large comfy bed.
We were really happy.
