This 6 bedroom, 3 bath Mountain home, sits on a beautiful meadow surrounded by pine trees. The back door exists out to the hiking trails that could start a great day of exploring in winter and summer. Location, location, location. In the summertime, the open terrain becomes some of the best hiking and biking trails on the North Shore. You can access the trails at the home and go for miles. All the roads in the neighborhood dead end at trail heads. North National Park is walking distance to the house and offers Frisbee golf, ball fields, snowmobile rentals and much more. The Lake at Kings Beach is 2.5 miles away and has boat and kayak rentals. White, sandy beaches will remind you of being in Hawaii. Shopping and entertainment are here with casinos 3 miles away that will satisfy your thirst for nightlife. Crystal Bay Club is known for their music venues, and Cal Neva for their spa services. There is an abundance of restaurants and shops scattered up and down Kings Beach that will cater to your daytime or evening dining fancies.

In the wintertime… you are in the middle of the North Shore with easy access to the ski resorts. You are 4 miles to the entrance of Northstar which offers a great all-around skiing mountain, along with a new village with ice skating rink, shops and restaurants. Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley are minutes away and there is a short cut which eliminates dealing with traffic in Tahoe City. Diamond Peak and Mt Rose are 20 min away and offers less expensive skiing with specials and family pricing. Cross country skiing and snow shoeing are literally out the back door…and for those adventure enthusiasts, there is a multitude of snowmobiling rentals as close at 2 miles from the house.

This house has the space for a large family gathering, or group of friends. As you walk in the front door, you are greeted with a massive river rock fireplace, high A frame ceilings, pool table, windows looking out to the meadow, and open floor plan. The fireplace is wood and the vocal point of the room and everything faces it. Knotty pine paneling and stain glass accents surrounds the 'Great Room,' giving the space a true mountain feeling and smell. A large sectional and scattered ottomans faces the fireplace and entertainment center with Smart 50" HDTV, stereo, and DVD player. A slider opens out to the top wrap-around deck with patio furniture and barbecue. Its great to sit out here and breath in the trees. From here you look over the beautiful meadow with tall pine trees and seasonal creek. The smell of the pines is mesmerizing. Below the upper deck, is a separate deck for the hot tub. Because the deck is level to the meadow, tenants have been known to jump out of the tub, make snow angles, then jump back in. The house is also on a gentle slope for sledding and snow play. This is the place on either deck to relax and enjoy the wildlife, and sounds of a forest.

Nicknamed the 'TreeHaus,' your view from all windows is of the towering pine trees and seasonal creek. A path in the meadow behind the house leads to North National Park which has ball fields, a Frisbee golf course, picnic areas, and hiking and biking trails. In the wintertime, bring your cross country ski's or snow shoes. The trails from the house are well used in both the summer and winter months.

This is a true Mountain Lodge with lots of nooks and cranny's to allow your family or friends to spread out comfortably. It is warm, inviting, and set up as a vacation rental.

The open living area has a pool table and a large dining room table, and kitchen. A well appointed kitchen with wrap-around counters, and breakfast bar that seats 5, allows for all to watch the chef cook. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities you'll need for a weeks stay. The pool table is in the middle of the room and will allow you to play pool, while watching tv, looking at the fireplace, talking with the chef, or just listening to music.

Down the hall is a large laundry room, and bathroom that also connects to the large Master Bedroom. The Master Bedroom has a walk in closet, sliding glass door that exist's to the deck, TV, and is large enough to have another twin bed without feeling confined. In the hallway are 2 sets of stairs. One leads to queen bedroom with its own bathroom, TV, and door exiting out to the meadow and hot tub. The hiking trails are within feet of the back door and the availability just to walk out into the trees, is special.

Up the stairs has 4 more bedrooms. First bedroom is an enclosed private loft with queen bed, and child's bed. This is next to a full bathroom. Down the hall is a spacious King bedroom , with extra twin bed , TV and lots of windows looking out to the meadow. There is extra floor space for the little ones here. Next to that room is a bunk room with full size bottom and single top with TV that adjoins to another large enclosed private loft bedroom with queen bed, and 2 twins, TV. The loft bedrooms are A frame and all have doors making them private bedrooms.

Because Lake Tahoe's motto is just 'play hard' extra attention has been given to a great bed and a good nights sleep. All the bedding is Hotel Style with memory foam mattress pad, luxury 300 count sheets, 4 down or down alternative pillows, duvet, and bed throw, HDTV on Dish satellite, and bathrobes for your use during your stay. You'll feel like you're in an upscale hotel.

Want to bring your boat and need parking? No problem. There is a garage for your 'stuff' and lots of parking in the summertime both in the driveway and on the road.

Located on a cul de sac, you'll see more people walking their dogs in the street, than cars passing by. The neighborhood is a quiet pocket of homes surrounded by forest land. All the roads dead end at trails heads, yet its 2 miles from all the activities in Kings Beach.

Quiet, peaceful, comfortable, and special is the tone of this home. The decor is mountain lodge, which compliments the Tahoe feeling, and amenities and location should amplify your vacation stay. The furnishings compliment the 'Pine Lodge' decor. The open areas and high ceiling ,allow you to socialize with family or friends, without feeling closed in.

The house has all the amenities of home and more. Coffee service is provided for your first morning here. The furnishings are user friendly with plenty of seating for your family and friends. The location and amenities of this home makes this a great vacation home year-round.

This is just 1 of 6 homes I own in Lake Tahoe. The others are 5 and 6 bedrooms also and have the same amenities and location. 5 are walking distance to each other for those who need 2 homes.

Please note. The pictures were taken by a professional photographer who used a wide angle lens to include more of the different rooms.

Why owner/property manager chose Tahoe Vista

What makes this house unique

I love where the house is located on the Lake. You are right in the middle of the North Shore, with easy access to all of Lake Tahoe. The Lake is 3 miles, casinos, 3.5, Northstar 4, Reno 35 minutes, and South Shore is 40 and FUN to go to in the summertime. Skiing is everywhere. I ski at Alpine and Squaw and to drive there from the house, I go the back way and eliminate all the traffic in Tahoe City. I can get there in 20 min's., and is an easy drive.

The restaurants and shops on the lake speak for themselves. But...Northstar is my new hangout! The Village is beautiful!

There is a big ice-skating rink surrounded by bars, tiki torches and outdoor couches with fire pits. Around this are shops and restaurants and then the ski lifts. It reminds be of Vail. In the summertime the ice becomes roller skating with the same ambiance.

You can't beat the neighborhood here. Walking the trails is a twice daily event. There are maintained by the forest service and easy to follow. You can walk to Agate bay, or even Tahoe City if so inclined. Because the area is just up from the Lake, most of the trails have panoramic views of the Lake.

The house is super comfortable and I love walking out the back door and being in the meadow with tall pines. The smell of the forest permeates the house and its quiet, peaceful, and visually soothing.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and are set for awhile of searching for rentals. The home offers everything we need during our stay and the kids LOVE the location. They play ball in the street ( cul de sac) and romp in the meadow which is an extension of the house. Adults love the open living area, big fireplace which is always lit, and enough room in dining area for adults at table and kids at counter. It has lots of rooms that allows our group to be together but not. Lots of TV's is good also. The kitchen has enough dishes, pots/pans to cook in overnight, the bathrooms and laundry room are big which with so many kids is really helpful. Living room and dining room were great for our large group to play cards and watch football at the same time. We broke out a game of Monopoly which I haven't played in years. The location is only 2 miles from the city market and shopping. We needed some sleds and found a great thrift shop in Kings Beach to buy them at. There is also Rite Aid, a hardware store, and many gifty shops that are fun to see. We couldn't have had a better time and we will be back. Thank you Sandy!

Annual Tahoe Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family goes to Lake Tahoe annually the week prior to Christmas. Our stay at the "Treehaus" was excellent. We were traveling with another family and had 6 teenage girls between us. The girls were able to have their own space on the 3rd floor while the adults had their own space on the 2n floor. The proximity to the Ski lifts on the North Shore was excellent. The property manager was very attentive to our needs prior to and during our stay. My family and I will definitely use this property again in the future.

Comfortable home for large groups

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely home for my father's surprise 70th birthday celebrations. Our group consisted of 11 adults and 4 children under the age of three. This home is spacious, kid friendly, conveniently located and most of all very comfortable. We all had plenty of room to spread out, but also to gather together in the large living area and dining room area. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay in Lake Tahoe!

Happy Ladies

  • 5 of 5

The "Treehaus" was everything promised in the listing description, and more!! Not only was the listing accurate (loved the fact that the listing included so many photos and a floor plan), but the owners are incredibly nice. We arrived to a very clean accommodation and felt immediately comfortable. Manuals and instructions were clear and abundant to help us with questions as we set about to use the amenities. We had one plumbing issue, which was resolved immediately--we thought this demonstrated the owner's level of interest in keeping the property in perfect condition. As a group of women (all breast cancer survivors) who were keen to use the occasion to celebrate life, we could not have been happier. I hope we are able to return in the years to come!

Great for extended family/multiple families

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time with a group of 13 in 4 extended families. Plenty of room to give each family own bedroom and bathroom while sharing great common space and extra sleeping room in upstairs. Perfect location great for biking to the lake in summer and easy lots of hiking by the house. Local park excellent for young kids.

We did this in summer and had a great time in Lake Tahoe, wouldn't hesitate to come back for any other season. Great wild mountain views out virtually every window! Plenty of parking as well.

Magical Place!

  • 5 of 5

I hosted a group of friends for my 50th birthday party. We had an amazing, unforgettable weekend! The Treehaus is really a beautiful, magical place. The meadow around the house with tall pine trees and sights are unsurpassed--absolutely breathtaking. The house is well maintained and extremely comfortable. The beds and bedding are very comfortable, all of our guests commented on how well they slept. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the meadow and watching the squirrels climbing the trees while soaking. The kids had a blast playing pool and exploring the hiking trails. It has a great patio facing the meadow where we hung out in the afternoons. We also made good use of the outdoor grill. The kitchen is well stocked, and made cooking group meals easy. The house has enough living space that everyone in our group could spread out and make themselves comfortable. The house is close to town, but feels like you're in your own private paradise. The close by caretakers were wonderful--very friendly and helpful, yet unobtrusive. We had a question on the washer and Corrine and Bob were over within 15 minutes and took care of it, plus gave us lots or recommendations for beach play. I really can't say enough great things about this Chalet, we hated to leave!

This house is in the middle of the Northshore and has easy access to all Lake Tahoe has to offer. 1.5 miles from the highway, getting around the Tahoe Basin is effortless. The drive around the Lake is breathtaking and you'll enjoy the different little towns that surround the Lake. . The house is in a quiet pocket of homes just up from the Lake at Kings Beach .All the homes here sit on a meadow with tall pine trees, and the roads dead end at the hiking trails. Winter and summer they are used and maintained by the forest service. It borders the Tahoe Rim trail which is a destination for some with endless hiking trails you can access from the house. Brockway Summit is well know for its path to Tahoe City, and Watson Lake is worth hiking too. You can walk in the summertime to our neighborhood park, North National Park. The park encompasses approximately 124 acres of predominantly active recreational activities. An 18 par fitness course, ball fields, Frisbee Golf, playground are just a few options. In the wintertime they offer a nice sledding hill for tubing and snow fun. Within 20 min to all the ski resorts on the North Shore, Northstar in the closest and newest village. The village was modeled after Beaver Creek Colorado...cobblestone sidewalks, copper roofs and a multitude of restaurants and shops that line the 'square'. The square is an ice skating rink in the wintertime and roller skating in summer. The bon fire pits and outdoor bars are always there. Its a wonderful setting to hang out at especially at night. Skiing here is family orientated with lots of ski programs for all ages, and a pristine mountain that keeps a good grasp on good snow conditions. If your staying a week, I highly recommend taking advantage of the other resorts also. A bonus is from the house you can drive the back way to Alpine and Squaw Valley which will eliminate the morning traffic through Tahoe City. Both mountains have tons of excellent skiing, and mountain biking in the summertime. MT Rose is where to go for open terrain, Diamond Peak for kids and an easy day skiing. Both are 15 min to the house. In the summertime, Kings Beach just down the street is a State Park with lifeguard and lake toys to rent. The beach is the highlight with wide sandy beaches, and views you have to experience to appreciate. There are also smaller beaches up and down the strip for reading a book, and dog beaches for your loved ones. Brockway golf course in Kings Beach is a must for those that just want a good time. One of the top 9 hole courses in California, its known for its yardage and views. In the wintertime the course becomes a snowmobiling park. Tahoe City is 12 miles away and offers another nice city with shops, restaurants and outdoor venues. The Truckee River is our playground for fishing, river rafting, and bike baths to view all. A nice day is renting your bike in Tahoe City and riding to River Ranch. This is a river front restaurant with large outdoor patio at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. Here is where the river tours end and usually where the rafts have issues. You can spend the day here watching the rafters and enjoying their menu and drink. Between the location , amenities of the house, and your favorite family or friends, you'll have a great home to stay at while getting a true Lake Tahoe experience.
