My home in Asheville NC is a historic home built 100 years ago. Located in possibly the most popular area of Asheville, Montford, one of the largest historic districts in the state of North Carolina. It is only minute's from The Biltmore Estate, The Grove Park Inn, great hiking from the Blue Ridge Parkway, rafting on the French Broad River and several beautiful golf courses. Approximate 15 minute walk to downtown Asheville to dine at amazing restaurants, listen to live music, visit art galleries or attend a show at Moog Fest or The US Cellular Center. The area neighborhoods draw visitors and permanent residents with beautiful landscaping and structures, many of which were built between 1890 and 1925, reflecting Victorian, Tudor, Colonial Revival, Arts and Craft and Georgian architectural styles.
The Western region visitors’ center, located less than a mile from the house is packed with information about Asheville and Western N.C. attractions and activities. It also hosts a wonderful local farmers market. The neighborhood also is home to several fantastic restaurants, Nine Mile Caribbean, Todds Tasties Café for a delicious breakfast or lunch and Chiesa Italian. The Montford Park Players put on performances of Shakespeare's works each summer in our outdoor theater within a walk of the house.
My house is 2000 sq ft, two stories and has lots of privacy. The very large yard is completely enclosed, including the large off street parking area. It is surrounded by beautiful majestic Oak trees that provide wonderful shade and gorgeous fall colors.
It has two extra large bedrooms( with king beds , one normal size bedroom with queen bed and a third semi private room with a queen size sleeper. The bedrooms all have a TV and nice bedding. There is a beautiful large bath with a six foot claw foot tub and shower, wonderful towels and its own private balcony to sit in the sun after your luxurious soak. There is a half bath on the first floor along with a small offset room with a queen size sleeper sofa.
The house is decorated with many beautiful antiques, work of local artist, has hardwood floors and lots of beautiful natural light. The large den is very comfortable; with a comfy leather sofa, recliners and rocking chairs all surrounding the fireplace and 46' smart T.V. with Netflix. The bookcase is loaded with interesting reads of all types, including local history and a few board games. There is Wi-Fi and extended cable TV.
There is a wood burning fireplace ,beautiful dining room with dining for up to 6-8 pp , fully equipped kitchen , front porch swing , large private backyard stone patio with gas grill , fire pit and seating , a front stone patio with dining table , off of front porch and raised beds with fresh herbs and flowers in the summer .
I will consider pets (dogs only) on a per request basis and a pet fee, the large fenced yard is ideal for play and exercise.

Location is absolutely perfect.
We enjoyed our week very much. We stayed the week of Thanksgiving 2017. This is a very comfortable house with all the needed facilities. The interaction with the owner was minimal but entirely functional. I could not ask for a better spot in Historic Montford. Thank you!
So happy that you enjoyed your stay over the Thanksgiving Holiday! It is so important to me that my guest feel comfortable and "at home" while staying.
I really try to honor my guest privacy yet be available for any questions or needs, glad that met your expectations.....Thank you and your family for being such great guest!!
Lovely historic home that is ideally located
We stayed here for 4 nights in early November. The house is located in a great neighborhood and though the homes are all located close to each other this one has plenty of privacy. We left the blinds open on the many windows on first floor and never felt like anyone could see in to the house. (This was true for the 2nd floor as well though we closed the blinds at night!)
It was within walking distance of downtown Asheville - about 25 minutes or so through attractive neighborhoods. Several mornings we got up and walked into town with our dogs for coffee and/or breakfast. It is also very convenient to anything else you'd want to access in Asheville if you're driving (the Biltmore, the Treetops Adventures ropes course, the Riverside Arts district).
The home itself is a historic house which made us feel right at home because we have owned homes in the past that were built in the same era. Future renters should know that historic homes have imperfections - bumpy plaster walls with a small crack here or there, a small half-bath on the 1st floor, creaky wood floors - so if you won't be able to overlook these things, look elsewhere. In every other way the house was lovely. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The living room got lots of natural light and had plenty of seating for all of us complete with throw blankets to keep us cozy. We did not cook at the house but the kitchen had everything we needed. And everything was very clean.
We travelled with our dogs and the fact that the yard was fenced and large enough for them to roam about was great. It was a particularly warm set of days in November so we were able to relax on the comfortable front porch while our dogs enjoyed the yard.
We visit Asheville every year in early November and will likely stay at this home again next year!!
This is our second stay at this location.
We will be back.
Comfortable home for our girlfriend reunion
We found the house well equipped and accommodations comfortable. With 4 people two full baths would've been better; but, all worked out w/out any difficulty. We had only two cars and were able to park w/in the house space provided. For this trip we did prepare dinner and appreciated that the kitchen had all the basics. We didn't use the BBQ nor fireplace, this trip. Thanks for letting us stay in your house and we may look you up again if we return next year.
Charming old house in a historic section of Asheville.
House is convenient to everywhere in a quiet and beautiful historic neighborhood. The house had every amenity we needed and perfect for a family. Many renovations have been done to the property so it has all the modern comveniences.
Clean and well-stocked
This house was clean and well-stocked. The front porch and swing were amazing. The location was great. When the A/C units were used, the lights flickered which made me too nervous to sleep with them on. Fortunately, it is fairly cool in asheville at night. If the A/C units were more functional, I would 100% stay here again.
