About the property

Romantic 3 Bedroom , Wood Burning Fireplace, Porch Swing, Tranquil Setting

My home in Asheville NC is a historic home built 100 years ago. Located in possibly the most popular area of Asheville, Montford, one of the largest historic districts in the state of North Carolina. It is only minute's from The Biltmore Estate, The Grove Park Inn, great hiking from the Blue Ridge Parkway, rafting on the French Broad River and several beautiful golf courses. Approximate 15 minute walk to downtown Asheville to dine at amazing restaurants, listen to live music, visit art galleries or attend a show at Moog Fest or The US Cellular Center. The area neighborhoods draw visitors and permanent residents with beautiful landscaping and structures, many of which were built between 1890 and 1925, reflecting Victorian, Tudor, Colonial Revival, Arts and Craft and Georgian architectural styles.

The Western region visitors’ center, located less than a mile from the house is packed with information about Asheville and Western N.C. attractions and activities. It also hosts a wonderful local farmers market. The neighborhood also is home to several fantastic restaurants, Nine Mile Caribbean, Todds Tasties Café for a delicious breakfast or lunch and Chiesa Italian. The Montford Park Players put on performances of Shakespeare's works each summer in our outdoor theater within a walk of the house.

My house is 2000 sq ft, two stories and has lots of privacy. The very large yard is completely enclosed, including the large off street parking area. It is surrounded by beautiful majestic Oak trees that provide wonderful shade and gorgeous fall colors.

It has two extra large bedrooms( with king beds , one normal size bedroom with queen bed and a third semi private room with a queen size sleeper. The bedrooms all have a TV and nice bedding. There is a beautiful large bath with a six foot claw foot tub and shower, wonderful towels and its own private balcony to sit in the sun after your luxurious soak. There is a half bath on the first floor along with a small offset room with a queen size sleeper sofa.

The house is decorated with many beautiful antiques, work of local artist, has hardwood floors and lots of beautiful natural light. The large den is very comfortable; with a comfy leather sofa, recliners and rocking chairs all surrounding the fireplace and 46' smart T.V. with Netflix. The bookcase is loaded with interesting reads of all types, including local history and a few board games. There is Wi-Fi and extended cable TV.

There is a wood burning fireplace ,beautiful dining room with dining for up to 6-8 pp , fully equipped kitchen , front porch swing , large private backyard stone patio with gas grill , fire pit and seating , a front stone patio with dining table , off of front porch and raised beds with fresh herbs and flowers in the summer .

I will consider pets (dogs only) on a per request basis and a pet fee, the large fenced yard is ideal for play and exercise.

I have lived in Asheville 20+ years and know the area very well. I would love to help in any way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I look forward to hosting you soon!

Thank you Terri for being so flexible with our dilly-dallying and date changing! The house was spotless and the neighbourhood friendly and picturesque. The location is perfect both for downtown and for getting to the mountains. We will definitely come and stay again.

Charming old house in a historic section of Asheville.

  • 4 of 5

House is convenient to everywhere in a quiet and beautiful historic neighborhood. The house had every amenity we needed and perfect for a family. Many renovations have been done to the property so it has all the modern comveniences.

Clean and well-stocked

  • 3 of 5

This house was clean and well-stocked. The front porch and swing were amazing. The location was great. When the A/C units were used, the lights flickered which made me too nervous to sleep with them on. Fortunately, it is fairly cool in asheville at night. If the A/C units were more functional, I would 100% stay here again.

Great house in a really nice neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

The house was great, and we loved hanging out on the porch & in the back yard. It was close enough to do a lot of fun stuff, but secluded enough to feel like we were really getting away.

Awesome house. Awesome neighborhood. Five stars.

  • 5 of 5

First thing let me say thank you so very much to the owner for opening her home in this way. We truly enjoyed our stay. We felt as though we were at home away from home. Upon our arrival we found everything to be clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils to prepare a meal if so desired. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and a great place to get out and walk around. I would recommend staying at the Asheville Cottage House to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the Asheville area. We look forward to possibly staying there again our next trip to Asheville. Thanks again to the owner. I give this place a 5-star rating!

  • 5 of 5

Loved this house. Nice quiet neighbor. We had no problem finding it & the private parking was great. We walked into Asheville and spent an entire day. Had lunch at Tupelo Honey, & shopped. Had dinner at Nine Mile, very good, friendly staff. Terri was an awesome hostess & responded to all our requests & concerns. Loved having coffee & wine on the front porch while our little weinnie dogs chased squirrels & fetched balls. Can't wait to come back again!

Thanks for everything Terri, your the best!

Great front porch for long weekend wedding planning

  • 5 of 5

In really nice area in Montford neighborhood. Bedrooms/beds were roomy and comfortable. The best feature in my book (I'm from mosquito country) was the covered porch and fenced yard for my son's small dog. Sat for hours every day reading, napping, and just enjoying the area. Did not cook at all, so kitchen layout wasn't a factor.
