Looking for a great home base just minutes from the entrance to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks? This four bedroom Three Rivers vacation home has it all - a convenient location, lovely interior, two master suites, gigantic yard, and year-round river access. The 'Rivers Edge' is perfect for family getaways, a group of friends exploring the parks, or couples traveling together.

The open living room has tall ceilings, plush seating, and a flat screen TV with satellite and DVD player. Snuggle next to the wood-burning fireplace with plenty of wood to burn. Or just find a comfy spot on the couch to catch up on your email or curl up with a good book.

The dining room is bright and open, looking out over the expansive lawn and down toward the river. The dining room table will seat eight for lively meals, and there is additional seating nearby at the kitchen table if needed. Right off the dining area there is access to a deck with a gas grill - just grab some steaks at the store and you're all set for a summer cookout.

The full kitchen has all the appliances you'd expect to find, including a coffee pot, microwave, crock pot, and blender. There are even gourmet coffee beans & a grinder for you to make coffee like you like it! Also on this level is a laundry room with washer and dryer, as well as a full bathroom.

Up a flight of stairs awaits the master bedroom & bath, complete with tub/shower as well as a walk-in closet. The lucky inhabitant of the master will find themselves with access to another outdoor deck, perfect for relaxing in the evening with a glass of wine while listening to the soothing sounds of the river.

The second master bedroom (along with the other two bedrooms) is located on ground level.

The master touts an incomparable view, a queen bed, and an en-suite bath with tub/shower. A third bedroom is smaller, but just as nice with a double bed, great view, and located on the opposite side of the house from the living area. The fourth bedroom is great for kids with a set of twin beds. The third full bathroom is located on this level. Altogether, this home will comfortably sleep 8 guests in beds, and 2 more on brand new fold-out memory foam mattresses.

While most of our guests come to visit Sequoia National Park, sometimes it’s nice to just chill and the River's Edge Vacation Home is perfect for that! The yard is made for games and competitions, and the river provides an infinite number of activities. Year-round, this Three Rivers vacation home will delight you with its comfortable interior and adventuresome exterior.

The community of Three Rivers is just minutes away and provides services such as grocery stores, gas stations, churches, a library, several thrift stores, a pharmacy, a few real estate businesses, elementary school, a handful of restaurants, a bank & credit union, and the world-famous Reimers Candy & Ice Cream store. Lake Kaweah is only ten minutes away, offering swimming, boating, & fishing.

Creekside Awesomeness

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the River's Edge for a short end-of-summer vacation. It was nearly perfect! Beautiful and spacious house, spectacular back yard, and only 52 steps down to a river/creek where we could splash around a bit and hang out on the rocks, with no one else around. Sunsets on the back deck were gorgeous. The house had everything we needed, including some home-made bread and a nice welcome message. I would highly recommend this house, and will hopefully be staying there again at some point!

Owner's Response: Karen, I'm glad you and your group were able to take advantage of the nice cold river - it was pretty warm when you were here. Thanks for the nice comments and I look forward to hosting you again anytime. ~Robin~

Awesome House

  • 5 of 5

The photos do not do this place justice. The inside is beautiful and functional and the property is fairly well isolated and has great access to the river. It is a bit of a hike down there, but even the injured guy in our group made it down (granted he had some help). Our entire group would enjoy returning to this little slice of paradise.

There are only two things I would recommend as improvements. The dining room table seats need to be replaced as the bottoms have fallen out and the fridge door needs a look as it can be nearly impossible to open at times.

Owner's Response: Anton, Sounds like you guys had a great time! I liked the notes you all left in the guest book. I agree with you about the dining room chairs and I have spoken to the owner about that. The fridge is weird..sometimes it's fine and sometimes you have to open the freezer side first..I can't figure out why that happens. For a big group of guys, you took excellent care of the house and you are welcome back any time. ~Robin~

A Mixed Bag

  • 3 of 5

River's Edge is located in a beautiful, secluded spot right on the South Fork of the Kaweah River. The river is amazing and it's so nice to open the windows and hear the sound of the rushing water. You can even walk down a series of steps from the backdoor and stand at the river's edge. The house was clean and the owner's greeted us with a nice loaf of bread and a bottle of wine and a card. The home is spacious and the kitchen is well stocked with all necessary cooking utensils, pots and pans, and spices. The kitchen and bathrooms have been renovated with granite counter tops and pretty tile floors.

One of the things we had issues with was the bedding. The downstairs master bed was extremely firm and the bed frame squeaks with every movement. At the end of our stay I was looking under the bed for left items and discovered one of the slats had fallen out on one side. ( Could account for some of the noise.) The front bedroom has a full-sized bed which was completely mushy and uncomfortable. The middle bedroom has two twins with mattresses that are mushy as well. The owners have placed thick foam pads on top of what I presume to be worn mattresses to try and squeak out a little more life from them. The effect did not work for us. The upstairs bed was the best in the house but still a bit on the soft side. Overall, the beds left something to be desired. Coming home after a long day in the park you really want a nice, comfortable bed waiting for you.

The smoke detector in the front bedroom was gone and there was a hole in the ceiling with wires sticking out. The refrigerator door was extremely hard to open and the handle repeatedly fell off in our hands. We found it easier to open the freezer door first and then the frig side. A lamp in the front bedroom did not work at all and when I tried to turn on a lamp in the living room the knob fell off in my hand. The shower handle in the downstairs master bathroom was very loose and fell off in my hand as well.

The deck overlooking the river is a nice size but the decking itself is worn and needs replacing. The chairs around the formal dining table are old and when you sit in them you discover that the bottom support is non-existent.

I would have to say that for the nightly rate of this home I would expect it to be in much better condition with much better bedding. The owners' seem to be nice, thoughtful people but they need to maintain this home better.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am happy that overall you enjoyed your stay and the property itself. I am sorry for the shortcomings you pointed out. I am addressing all of the comments/suggestions that are within my realm. I agree with you that the beds should be incredibly comfortable to come home to after a long day hiking in the park. My goal is for my guests to enjoy the property 100%, with no complaints whatsoever. I appreciate your feedback and I will strive to make the improvements necessary. ~Robin~

Beautiful, Spacious and Good Location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of seven adults was very pleased with our stay at Three Rivers. The home is beautiful and very clean. Everything we needed was provided. Robin was very nice to work with and made sure we had what we needed. She even had delicious homemade bread waiting for us on our arrival! The location was perfect for us. It is less than 30 minutes from Sequoia National Park and 10 minutes or so from a grocery store and restaurants. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend here. I would recommend this property to anyone, especially those looking for a place close to the parks. In fact, I've already mentioned it to a couple of friends who are planning trips for next summer. If we get a chance to return to this area, I will definitely plan to stay at this home.

Great place - very comfortable and convenient for day trips to Sequoia and Kings Canyon

  • 4 of 5

Pros:

Nice size - was perfect for 7 of us (5 adults and 2 kids)

Fully equipped kitchen with more than enough pots, pans, crockery, cutlery etc.

Clean.

Friendly, helpful agent (Robin)

Lots of 'extras' in case you forgot something - bug spray, toothbrushes, TP, kitchen staples etc.

Good A.C. Critical when it is 108 outside!

Convenient for parks

Nice outdoor grill

Cons:

Very limited wifi and no phone reception (Verizon) so make sure to plan ahead for trips etc.

Outside deck was a bit run down and could do with an update.

Steps down to river were overgrown and slightly precarious

Owner's Response: Grant, Thank you for your compliments and also for your comments regarding the WiFi, deck & staircase to the river. We are lucky to even have WiFi up at the property (which I know seems archaic nowadays). I completely understand that it is an inconvenience to some guests and we hope to upgrade to a higher data plan soon. The deck has been repaired in the past and is due to be replaced in the future. Regarding the steps down to the river...we were waiting for the river to be safe enough for our guests before we made that pathway more inviting. I appreciate your comments and I take them very seriously. ~Robin~
