From the valley below, the distinctive whistle of a steam locomotive sounds. The little boy standing on the porch was enchanted by the sound. He smiled widely, announcing 'it's Tweetsie!' so the cabin was christened the 'Tweetsie House'.

Newly constructed in 2009, The Tweetsie House offers the

conveniences and luxury of modern construction while giving the feel of a rustic mountain cabin and setting.

Upon arrival you will be guided by landscape lighting along the driveway lined with pavers and stone walls.

Motion control exterior lighting allows for visitors to easily access the front porch and enter and exit from the large parking area.

A children's play set provides recreation for the little ones while a short hiking trail through the woods allows everyone to stretch their legs and enjoy the fresh air.

The main level features hardwood floors throughout, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and a large dining table when fully extended will seat 10 people. The main living room has leather furnishings, large multi story windows that overlook the mountains and valley. Main level living room features vaulted ceiling, ceiling fan, large flat screen TV, gas log fireplace, DVD player, FM stereo and full house WiFi. Also on the main level is the master bedroom suite with king bed,TV, private bath with tub and shower, walk in closet and access to rear deck.

Main level rear deck extends the full length of the house.

From the deck visitors can enjoy views of the woods and mountains and enjoy the use of a large gas grill, radiant gas heater and outdoor seating and dining. From mid April to the end of October enjoy the sounds of 'Tweetsie'

distinctive whistle from the valley below.

The upper level features hardwood floors throughout. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with queen bed and one with a pair of twin beds, share a bath with shower and tub.

Lower level features two bedrooms each with a King bed. One bedroom has TV and is adjacent to full bath. bedrooms are separated by a large recreation room with flat screen TV. Both bedrooms enjoy access to full length lower level patio with views of woods and mountains.

The whole house heat pump heating and cooling system is complimented by gas fireplace on main level and gas stove on the lower level.

About Clark and Linda Isaac

Clark and Linda Isaac are owner/managers of their real estate rentals located in Hickory, Blowing Rock and St. Simons Island, Georgia. Clark is a professional engineer, general contractor and real estate developer and Linda is a licensed real estate broker. We spend most of our time in Hickory when not traveling.

Tweetsie House was named by our Parker, one of our 6 grandchildren when he was 5 years old. Parker and the other grandchildren all love Tweetsie Railroad and Parker would always ask, Poppy will you please take me to the Tweetsie House? So we named our mountain retreat 'Tweetsie House'.

That's what they say in the real estate business and the Tweetsie House has a great location and a lot more.

There are literally 4 roads leading to the Tweetsie House

, but when you arrive you feel that you are in an isolated oasis, miles from civilization. The only sounds you here are the sounds of your families voices, the birds chirping or the echoing sound of the little engine that is just of over the hill.

Located at over 4000 feet, the summer nights are cool and pleasant. Spring and fall days are pleasantly warmed

by the abundant sunshine washing over the landscape.

What makes this cabin unique

Newly constructed in 2009, this home was built for the rental market. The exterior look and feel makes you feel like you are in the high country. At night the rock retaining walls, split rail fencing, landscaping and cabin exterior are illuminated with lightscaping.

It is very common to have wild turkey flocks and deer wandering around the yard.

The upper level deck allows for open air entertaining with chairs and tables. The lower level cover deck allows for a pleasant and dry outdoor experience when the occasional summer rain shower arrives.

The three level arrangement lets the young children have an area to themselves upstairs while the older children and adults can enjoy one of the two other living areas.

The 'ring toss' game on the main level provides for some family fun. A kiddie basketball goal on the lower level outside deck and a children's playset will let the younger ones enjoy some outside activity also.

Lovely setting - very comfortable & clean - great floor plan for multiple family of 10. Beautiful weather and great location. This was the ideal layout for our family. Plenty of room for everyone. Great landscaping and comfortable setting

Our family had a great experience at the Tweetsie house! The house is well set up for visitors and convenient to many of local attractions. We felt right at home cooking a big meal, the kids loved the playset and exploring the short trail behind the house. Everything is modern and well labeled make use and check out a snap. We will definitely make our way back in the future.

We LOVED Tweetsie House!

We were in town for a long weekend to celebrate my niece's wedding in Boone. The Location of Tweetsie House was minutes from main street Blowing Rock and minutes from ASU/Boone area. It was ideal for our purposes. The layout is fabulous. The lower level has a seating area between the two bedrooms. There is outside seating at the lower level too. On the main floor is open concept living with the kitchen/dining/living room are all open with areas where guests can gather....perfect for vacations. There was an outside patio with a dining area and chairs just to sit and enjoy the view. The third floor has two bedrooms. No access to outside but nice flow from the Queen room to the room with two twins. Shared bath. The flooring was lovely knotty pine. Tweetsie House was neat and clean. Had I realized the hardwoods, I would have brought a box of swiffers because I love to swiff. We'll do that next visit! Our hosts called when we checked in to make sure we had arrived safely and to see if we had any questions-that was a I nice welcome.

Cozy Cabin on an Amazing Property

My family and I stayed here for the New Year in 2017, and we enjoyed every bit of the stay. The cabin is extremely we'll kept, full of ammenitities for both the kids and adults. We watched a fireworks show right from the deck on New Years Eve. We were well located to take day trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, several ski lodges and even Asheville. The owners were great to work with and take impeccable care of the house. I would highly recommend this property.

Fabulous Vacation Home

Our family so enjoyed our stay at The Tweetsie House. We felt like we were at home. The home is very cozy, but plenty of space. We were pleasantly surprised to see the home decorated for Christmas. The owners are very easy to work with and genuinely care if we are pleased with our stay. We will be returning for future vacations.
