Great Place for a Retreat?
Bear Lodge Cabin is a great place to simply get away. The view is magnificent, the cabin is rustic but cozy and has everything you need. We rented it for two months and were very comfortable and felt at home from the time we walked in the door. The location offers something for everyone, and within minutes you can get to the town of Front Royal for shopping, and restaurants. The owners of Bear Lodge Cabin did everything possible to make sure we had an enjoyable vacation. We would definitely rent this place again!
Bear Lodge Cabin
Absolutely wonderful experience! Great customer service, property was well-maintained. Highly recommend the cabin on many levels.
Our first weekend at Bear Lodge....Wonderful!
Any experienced traveler will contest that no place is perfect, but Bear Lodge is pretty damn close! Here is our weekend in a nutshell: The drive into Front Royal was scenic, and immediately began setting the "mountain getaway" mood. Front Royal is cozy, clean and the people are friendly. Whether its meaty buffalo wings(Soul Mountain Restaurant), a juicy steak(Joes Steakhouse) or delicious sushi(Yamafuji), you'll find it just around the corner. The drive up the mountain was gorgeous. Every twist and turn as we climbed higher up the mountain only added to the anticipation. The moment finally arrived that we pulled into Bear Lodge and although I cant confirm, I might have heard Marvin Gay amongst the tranquility. The cabin is beautiful both inside and out. Every inch was taken into consideration when it came to decorating. We especially loved the custom pool table. When you are standing next to the pool table, the view of the mountains are breathtaking. For those very special moments alone, we shall return. The hot tub is easy to operate and was one of the many highlights. Our favorite activity was sitting outside on the huge deck and enjoying an ice cold beer as the sun set over the Shenandoah Mountains. When my wife and I first booked the cabin I was a bit apprehensive because I had never rented. I received a phone call from the owners the following day in response to an inquiry I had sent and they were such pleasant and knowledgeable people. I liked how professional they were and those qualities put my worries to rest. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for the glowing endorsement. We certainly have enjoyed getting to know you and we are pleased you had such a nice trip!
We had a great experience at Bear Lodge. The home was very well maintained, clean, and in a great location. One of the two showers was not functional, which was a bit of an inconvenience, but we made it work. The hot tub was nice. The views exceptional.
Yes, we are working on fixing that pesky shower floor. Thanks for 'bearing' with us!
My husband and I recently enjoyed a 2 night stay at the cabin. It was serene with beautiful views. The Jacuzzi was perfect. We enjoyed dinner in several fabulous local restaurants, to include Osteria and Jalisco. We also stopped by the antique shop, used book store, Better Thymes Natural Food Store. and Front Royal Canoeing. We intend on coming back.
Thanks! You visited all our favorite places! Isn't Front Royal quaint and historic?
Should be called Deer Lodge
Loved the cabin, very nice and clean (could have used air condition a few days of our trip, very hot) also loved all the tame deer in the neighborhood, we did get to see the small bear the last morning of our stay!!!
Thanks, Shannon for choosing our cabin for your summer vacation. You are one of the lucky ones to see the bear!
