About Steve DeMenna
We live in Hingham, Massachusetts where I run a small business called Pleasant Meadow Farm offering therapeutic horseback riding for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.
Steve DeMenna purchased this House in 2013
Why Steve DeMenna chose Warren
Sugarbush is a wonderful family oriented mountain where all of my kids grew up skiing. We recently purchased this larger house to ensure that our family will have room for visiting friends and future grand kids.
What makes this House unique
Location, Location, Location. We love this home because it is one of the few locations on the mountain where you can virtually ski right to your front door most of the time, and then schuss about 7 to 9 minutes back to the slopes. The house itself was just renovated, has new furniture and a new kitchen. It is very comfortable with great views, vaulted ceilings, an awesome fireplace, mud room and plenty of space for two families.

GREAT place to stay!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. We planned a summer vacation in Vermont and knew nothing about the area before our arrival. It is a beautiful area and the house is great for families, although we had four adults on our trip. The house was exactly as advertised--very clean, comfortable, well supplied and uncluttered. We spent three days touring the state, and the house is centrally located in VT. Steve was responsive with questions, needs, etc.
Perfect to share for 2 families of four.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite which makes it perfect to share for two families. The natural fire place was awesome to come back to after a day of skiing. The chalet was well stocked with lots of wood for us to use. We had lots of powder when we were there so we found it was more of a ski-in and hike-out. That being said you are less then 5 minutes from the lodge and it took my husband the same amount of time to ski-out as it did for me to drive out and walk up to the lift from the drop-off point :) There is also a good place to park just a couple of streets up that allows you to ski-in and out even more easily. Lots of seating in the living room and also a nice big kitchen table.
Sugarbush is a great hill that seems to be a hidden gem in Vermont as there were not too many people on the hill.
I definately recommend the chalet.
We spend February vacation week at this wonderful house. We had more than enough room for our two families and all the comforts of home. We loved sitting by the fireplace after skiing and enjoyed being able to store all the ski clothes/gear in the entry way. You will not be disappointed in this rental home. We found Steve very helpful. We hope to return.
Great place. Ski in/out is hard for little kids
This is a great place to stay. Beautiful fireplace, kitchen, living/dining room area, comfortable beds. It has everything that you might need. (The oven stopped working, but the slow cooker saved the day.) Ski in/out is easy for adults, but much harder for young kids not quite ready for blues or longer schleps to the trail leading to the base.
Thanks for the heads up. The oven will be fixed or replaced in the next several days. If you have little ones in your party they will usually be in ski school and will need to be driven over to the base area. You can also use the private parking area 2 minutes from the house. This abuts a trail that leads straight downhill to the lifts. Admittedly the deep snow last week made the schuss over more difficult.
Excellent choice for our 3 generation ski vacation. Beautiful home. Ski in is good for intermediates, usually just walked out to hill (snow boarders) but it was pretty convenient. Loved the fireplace on the sub zero nights. We had a couple of minor glitches which the owners addressed immediately. The kitchen is nice and roomy and the beds very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again, maybe in the summer so we can see what this beautiful valley has to offer in a different season.
Our best VRBO rental experience. Exactly as advertised, everything we needed, plenty of space. Will be back for sure. Stayed over Feb vacation - great skiing, great place.
Thanks Jack - I appreciate the positive feedback. Glad you enjoyed our house. Look forward to having you stay with us again in the future. Regards,
Mad River Valley is a special place, and Sugarbush Resort is in the heart of everything. You can walk to several restaurants and pubs in the village or drive down the mountain to many more restaurants, shops and activities in the valley.
