Private single family gulf access pool home, 3 bedrooms 2 bath split floor plan. Less then 1 mile to Cape Coral yacht club & Beach
The property is very well located: 10 minute walk to the Yacht Club, beach and Tiki Bar and only a 10 minute drive to shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The house was built in the 1970s and is typical of houses of that vintage. The fiberglass pool is also of that age. The grounds were neglected and the grass overgrown with weeds. The house itself was nowhere near ready for tenants when we arrived.The pool was very dirty: the water was green and the pool light was sitting on the deck with loose wires. It took all of three weeks before the pool water was clean. The garden bushes had been trimmed but the clippings were all over paths. The house has no laundry: a tub, washer and dryer sit in a corner of the garage. The three closets were more than half full of junk accumulated over the years and dirty. The garage, too, was full of junk such that we did not leave the car in the garage for fear of scratches. The house was not as advertised: there was no dishwasher and no DVD player and most of the lamps in the living room were burned out. The carpets were badly stained. We spent the best part of the first of our nine week stay making the house livable. Just as well we brought our own pillows as those provided were badly stained. We cancelled a 2 - 3 day visit by friends because we were too ashamed of the house. Be warned of the cost of electricity. We have been hit by a $467 bill for electricity for the first month and we are waiting for the outcome of the second month. We strongly recommend buying VRBOs insurance. The Agent has been difficult to contact. He does not return phone calls and refuses to discuss our claims. We are writing off our deposit.
