Puget Sound - Hood Canal Water Front Home With Incredible Views

Bedrooms 4
Space 3,400 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

4 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, 8 Sleeps

Welcome to The Point at Paradise Bay! Situated on a basalt point where Admiralty Inlet meets Hood Canal, this unusual waterfront property has spectacular 225 degree views of water, mountains, and wildlife. Enjoy unobstructed views of Puget Sound, Mt. Baker, Whidbey Island, and the Cascade Mountains from almost every room in the house. The Point includes 270 feet of medium-bank waterfront with two access points to the beach.

There’s something for everyone here: Golf in Port Ludlow, beachcombing, boating, hiking, the Olympic National Forest, or simply enjoying a quiet book in front of the fire and the view. During fishing season, catch Coho and pink salmon from the bank. Seasonal local events include brewfests, writers’ conference, and festivals for film, quilting, jazz, blues, wooden boats, and rhododendrons. Art galleries abound in Port Townsend and Poulsbo. Bremerton offers the naval shipyards and the undersea Naval Museum nearby. The great restaurants in this region are a wonderful surprise to first-time visitors and destination dining for many.

Abundant wildlife is all around: watch eagles soar, hear the otters chirp, see the dolphins frolic, smell the fresh marine air, touch a sea star at low tide. Spot the curious harbor seal watching you. Occasionally even see deer on the beach! Watch the ever-changing marine activity: cruise ships, sail boats, tankers, and nuclear submarines.

With 1.3 acres of professionally landscaped gardens, the property also offers the privacy of a fruit orchard, lawns for croquet and badminton, and a fire pit for your evening s’mores and stories. Originally owned by a professional arborist, the property boasts a species rhododendron garden of incredible variety of color in late spring.

The fully-furnished home of 3,400 square feet sleeps eight in four private bedrooms. The downstairs has the ambiance of a cabin with log walls and cedar ceilings. Snuggle up on comfy sofas to watch movies on a 46" LED flat screen TV, the fire, or the expansive view. Share a bottle of wine while cooking dinner in the full kitchen. Enjoy meals in the comfort of the large covered deck or read a good book on the soft seating to the sound of the waves lapping only a few feet below you. Facing east, the deck is a great place to enjoy the stillness of the sunrise with a cup of coffee. In the mornings, we often see an eagle glide by at eye level.

The two downstairs bedrooms both have queen-sized beds and the cabin charm of logs and cedar ceilings. One is the Fisherman’s Room and the other is the Sailboat Room. The downstairs bathroom is a ¾ bath with a shower, vanity, and plenty of storage for your personal effects.

The upstairs is like a lighthouse: bright and light-filled with impressive views of the water from every room. The living area is a great room with living room, dining, and kitchen. The full kitchen is newly remodeled and has an elegant dining island. The living room has plenty of seating, a 60” LED flat screen TV, a fireplace, and the most incredible 180 degree views of water you’ll ever see. Enjoy the cool breeze of the north or the sunny warmth of the south on the outdoor deck that wraps around three sides of the house.

The upstairs has two bedrooms both with queen-sized beds. Because of the position on the point, the master suite enjoys an overview of the water that feels as though you are aboard a cruise ship. The master has an in-suite bathroom with a shower, double lavatory, plenty of storage, and the washer and dryer. The second bedroom is the Blue Room and tastefully appointed in sea blues and white. A full, newly-remodeled bathroom is adjacent.

This beautiful property has hosted birthday parties, weddings, anniversary celebrations, and even small business retreats. The home is a lovely place for a honeymoon, family vacations, a romantic escape, girlfriends’ getaway, fisherman’s holiday, adventure seekers, or a private meditation with nature.

Perfect place to relax

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely wonderful time. My husband and I spent 8 days here and couldn't ask for a better place to stay. We enjoyed just hanging out on the decks relaxing and watching wildlife. When we wanted to explore area it was a central location to local sightseeing. House is outfitted with everything you need to cook and BBQ. Owner was very helpful - shared lots of info about area, the home, etc.

I would love to have friends or family join us next time as we are sure to return. Whether it is just the two of you or up to 8 this is a great home base for your Puget Sound vacation.

Beautiful, quiet home...perfect for family vacations!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing trip up to the Olympic Peninsula and this house made the trip even better! We had 6 adults and 2 children and the house offered many places to spread out. It is perfectly situated on a point and direct access to the beach. We enjoyed exploring the tidepools at low tide for hours. One day we spent the day lounging on the outdoor couch watching a submarine go by during the rain. The 2 kitchens both had perfect views. Nothing beats waking up to a great cup of coffee and a seal or otter to watch from your window! It was very quiet and a nice, safe neighborhood. We spent most the days exploring places such as; Port Ludlow (nice waterfall walk nearby and kayaking at the marina), Olympic National Park, Sequim lavender farm and the Olympic Game Farm (we had a blast feeding the animals from the car). I wish we had more time because there is so much to do in that area.

The owners were very helpful when we sent an email for fishing tips. He helped with restaurant tips when we were out one day too. We hope to return to make more family memories!

We had a grand time relaxing at the house, going for miles-long walks when the tide was out, and exploring some of the area--lots to do!. Very easy spot to get comfortable. House is divine. Owner was generous, helpful, responsive.

My wife and I plus our 4 kids, 2 spouses, and 1 grandchild stayed here for 9 days. The home is beautiful, and the views are stunning. The home is in great condition, and is equipped with all of the amenities one might need. My kids enjoyed the foosball table on the lower level, and we all really loved the covered patio with comfortable furniture. I would highly recommend this home.

Breathtaking views

  • 5 of 5

We traveled from Pennsylvania to meet friends from Oregon to visit and explore the Olympic Peninsula. We were fortunate to have discovered Janet and Joel's small piece of paradise near Port Ludlow, WA. The house is situated on the most beautiful piece of property and waterfront. The Rhododendrum's, too many varieties to count…, maybe 13? were all full bloom! We took a number of day trips as we love to hike and enjoy the outdoors. The trees are absolutely magnificent everywhere you go! The house was immaculate, roomy and provided plenty of space for The five of us. Our most favorite (other than the view from the master bedroom as the sun came up) & frequented spot in the house, was the large covered deck area on the lower level of the house. The scenery is nonstop! Thank you Janet and Joel for welcoming us into your home.

Lovely location, well-equipped home

  • 4 of 5

The owners have gone to great lengths to make this house very comfortable for renters. We spent Thanksgiving there with friends and it made it so easy to cook a big meal because of how thoroughly stocked the (two!) kitchens are. All kinds of equipment and lots of condiments, kitchen staples, etc. Other small touches were nice like extra lap blankets near the TV space downstairs to cozy up with. The home is situated right on a point so you get beautiful water views all around. It has something of a dual identity with a very cabin-ish feel downstairs and a more modern feel up. Some of it is fairly up-to-date and some less so but all of it is well maintained and was very clean on arrival. There is a really great large covered porch on the lower level that, despite lots of rain, we still enjoyed during a couple of cocktail hours. Owner is a great communicator and quickly helped us solve an empty propane tank for the grill as well as left a nice hand-written welcome note. You'll need to get in your car to get to local amenities and resources, as there is nothing in the immediate blocks but housing (some rather shabby mobile homes included), but you'll mostly just want to enjoy the view from the deck anyway. The beach was never exposed enough to walk on. We had two families of four in the home and it suited us quite well, though note all four beds are queens so that needs to work for your party. The spot is a very special piece of land and in summer it must really be spectacular. Photos don't yet show a sun room of sorts off the lower level that has seating for large group - great for Thanksgiving dinner - and a Foosball table which was in high use with the kids. We traveled to Port Townsend for a day trip (about 30 mins) and in particular enjoyed stopping at the Finn River Cidery on the way back.
