Here in Pine Valley at The ROCKIN’CW RANCH, we invite you join us to experiencing the peace and quiet of the country and enjoy the experience of COUNTRY LIVING.
Here on our ranch we will immediately make you feel welcome and part of the ranch family.
Waking up and going to the stables right out the cottage, each morning. This might quickly became a favorite routine.
At night, have a bonfire with our cowboys serenading you by the fire. Grab your guitar and join in!
The cottage is cozy and inviting. A wood pellet stove that warms the place up quickly. The Beds are super comfy. The sofa is actually a trundle bed. Much more comfortable than a pull out.
If you want to bond together as a family and really feel like you are far away from the city, Rockincw Ranch might be the place for you!
We have been fortunate to accomplish many things in our lives. But our biggest accomplishment is having our own ranch. We are having the time of our life, living our dreams and passions!
I hope that gives you some insight into who we are.
My love for MY animals is my greatest inspiration.
Animals inspire me, The passion and connection I have with these animals grounds me, and enables me to clearly see my mission in life.
Christina Walker purchased this cottage in 2011

We loved our stay with Christina. I booked three nights and two days for my husband as a surprise anniversary gift. I have been riding since I was a kid and am always talking to him about how much I love it. He had never ridden before but had expressed interest based on what I had said. This place was perfect for both of us. If you have experience you won't feel bored with the rides and if you don't Christina is a great teacher! Our first night at the ranch she took us on a ride and within the first half hour she already had my husband trotting with no trouble. On his second ride she had him cantering and feeling pretty comfortable on the horse for only his second ride, She is a very patient teacher and is eager to show you all she can. It was a great first riding experience for him, and a wonderful experience for me as someone who has ridden before. She really makes you feel comfortable at her ranch. She let us feed every morning and night and also let us interact with the horses as much as we wanted. The little guest house we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The back door opens right onto the ranch so all you have to do is walk out the door and you are with the horses. She really does let you ride as much or as little as you like. She even extended our check-out time on Sunday so that we could go for a last evening ride before leaving. She is super accommodating. I cannot say enough about how friendly both Christina and her staff were. We definitely want to go back. We love this place!
Christina and Jolene are great with the kids and horses. This is real mountian riding not just in the arena. I look forward to out next stay at the ranch.
My 12 year old daughter and I stayed at the dude ranch for three days. The first moment you walk on the property you are on a working ranch. The owner Christina and all the helpers are so knowledgeable. The hospitality at the ranch was amazing and makes you feel right at home. The animals are so well behaved. The horses on their ranch, which they personally trained, were so docile. Arrived at the ranch with no horse riding experience. After three days, Christina's passion and knowledge of horses transformed me. I can now prepare the horse for a ride. Learned how to trail ride, gallop, and canter. What a great experience! Christina is amazing. My daughter and I will never forget this. Can't wait to get back.
I brought my 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son up to Splash of Passion Ranch in Pine Valley. We loved it! My daughter has ridden and so have I, we were able to learn so much and have a lot of fun. My son has not been on horses a lot and he had the time of his life, he was able to enjoy the beautiful trail rides too. We all enjoyed the many horses and other animals on the ranch. We got to feed, groom and participate in ranch activities all day if we wanted to. It was an incredible experience. We are planning our next trip up in the fall. I feel so fortunate to have found this place less than 2 hours from home!!
We loved staying at Christina's ranch! The cabin is super cozy, well equipped, and adjacent to animal enclosures and horse stalls - plenty of opportunity to see and interact with the animals! Both our young children - 2 and 5 - enjoyed the whole adventure tremendously. Our son bounded out of the house in the mornings to enthusiastically feed the animals (horses, goats, chickens, geese, ducks, a peacock, dogs, cats), scoop horse poo and generally help out as a mini-cowboy farmhand. The pool is cold but refreshing. Special thanks to Christina and her entourage - Armando, George, Klaus, et al - for the horseback riding lessons, amazing jam session, and general great company. Christina has a special place here and is amazingly skilled with the horses and their would-be riders alike. I hope we can take the family on a multi day riding trip when the kids are old enough!! Thanks again for everything.
My eleven year old daughter and I loved our amazing mother-daughter adventure at the Mini Dude Ranch in Pine Valley. Host and painter extraordinaire Christine Walker and her family are a delight, and Christine is an extraordinary Trail Guide to the beauty of the Cleveland National Forest that sits just outside the front door of the impeccably cared for vintage cottage we stayed in.
The ranch is stocked with gorgeous sentient beings from the dozen beautifully cared for and loved horses (some Arabians, and all for riding) to the goats, chickens, dogs and kitties that roam the expansive property tucked beautifully in a valley so remote, it's ridiculous to imagine it's only an hour from the city of San Diego. One of the days we rode, we took lunch in our packs on the trail and sat and enjoyed a beautiful meal under the shade of a 100-year-old oak tree while the horses grazed on fresh, wildly abundant mountain grasses nearby. Bucolic! The property is clean and well maintained. There's nothing like the Frosty Burger's Cheeseburger and fries, if not only to be chased by gobs of ice cream and all the toppings in a rich banana split of my childhood era. What a gem this wonderful little ranch is - and fantastically close to everything for a quick getaway! I highly recommend it for groups of friends, families, mother/daughter, spiritual getaways, and even time away alone to ponder, write, paint, and watch the stars in the huge night sky. Five Stars!
