Idyllic, well-maintained property on a lovely resort
This was our first experience renting vs staying at an all-inclusive, and Dreams Villamagna is the perfect spot to do that. Nuevo Vallarta is a beautiful and easy travel destination: there are so many things to do outside the resort within walking or an easy cab ride's distance. The locals who work in the travel industry are incredibly friendly and helpful. You can have the independence of your own condo, preparing your own or going out for meals, etc., but still have the convenience of access to resort amenities (food and drink bracelets are available for purchase).
The property is extremely well-maintained, with everything in working order and extremely clean. No bugs, mildew or mouldy smells ... all is as it should be. The kitchen is beautiful with huge new appliances, and is well-stocked with everything you would need. (We didn't use the BBQ, though, so can't speak to that, although based on the general level of care and maintenance throughout the condo, I can't imagine there would be a problem with it.)
The air conditioner units in each room work beautifully; we conserved energy by closing the doors to the rooms that weren't in use, and the place stayed nice and cool throughout or stay.
The host and property manager promptly answered all our inquiries prior to our stay and were also very helpful once we arrived. They were very patient with our silly questions!
This is a great property - would totally stay here again!
We purchased the fridge in December and the dishwasher was installed a few days before you arrived. I'm happy to hear that you appreciated these recent upgrades. I'm glad that you enjoyed your vacation and we look forward to having you as a guest in the future.
Very nice place to stay!
My cousins & I (5 total persons) are all single retirees and have traveled together in January for the past decade. We've traveled mostly to Florida, Caribbean & Bahamas and hit on Puerto Vallarta about 3 years ago and haven't looked back since. The weather is always near-perfect for us Northerners and the Mexican peso/dollar exchange has consistently cooperated to make for an inexpensive vacation. This was our first time staying in Sarah Sinclair's condo and we were very happy with the arrangements. Since we are all single, renting a 5-bedroom condo would usually be prohibitively expensive for us so we always have booked 3-bedroom condos or timeshares. In Sarah's condo which has 3 very nice ensuite bedrooms, there is additionally a small sleeping space off the kitchen with a bunkbed and ensuite shower which would be ideal for a family with several small children. My brother used that as his bedroom and was quite happy with it as this trip he had his own bathroom/shower as well. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare the lunches we made each day. The view of the ocean & Dream's resort pools below are as advertised & spectacular. You can now purchase a day pass at Dream's resort for $94 which is the all-inclusive resort to which the condo is attached. We decided not to since it would take a lot of eating and drinking to arrive at $94 worth. (Sarah did give us the idea that we could purchase the 24-hour pass later one evening and then eat earlier the next evening to get 4 meals in within 24 hours.) One can also purchase a one-meal evening pass for $57 but since we rarely spent over $30 including tip at the local fine-dining restaurants, we decided not to do that as well. And we also love to go out and discover different & new restaurants in the areas where we vacation. Some of our favorites here were La Dolce Vita (15 minute walk), The Blue Shrimp (taxi only), Fajita Republic & La Dinamita (10-minute walks). We love Puerto/Nuevo Vallarta and will come again and if Sarah's condo is open, it will be our first choice.
I’m glad you enjoyed our condo as much as we do. Having the ensuite in the fourth bedroom (kids room) is definitely a bonus. Thank you for the restaurant recommendations, we will have to try the Blue Shrimp. We usually walk to the other restaurants you listed. We look forward to having you as a guest in the future.
This condo has one of the prettiest views I have ever seen. It's large and accommodated our family of 7 easily. The kitchen is well equipped and was easy to cook and eat on the nice balcony. The manager answers any questions during your stay and is quick to reply to your text/emails. The only negative thing is the pools are mostly in the shade of the large buildings during the week we went, which was the first week of January. Other than that, this place has all you want and need. The food shack which caters to the condo owners/guests make the best food and its cheap!!
I’m glad you enjoyed our condo. Even with the large kitchen and gas BBQ, we also use the snack bar by the pool a lot for a quick, cheap lunch. We would love to have you as a guest in the future.
Very, Very Nice
All other 5-Star reviews are spot-on; no need for me to repeat the obvious/clear consensus. Many, many thanks to Sara and Kerry. My wife and I stayed for eight days; some non-condo-specific thoughts from our stay (our first at a non-AI in the Vallarta area):
We purchased day-passes from Dreams our first two days. While convenient and somewhat reasonably priced at $86USD/pp, the food was just OK and the restaurants were crowded at times, especially the weekends. But, it was a very nice option to have.
We determined that taxi prices to/from restaurants, grocery stores, and PV to be approx the same as a small rental car, and we used Avis at the Dreams to do so on our fourth day. That said: taxis were readily available and were a just fine option. Also, Uber appears to be launching very soon in the PV area, for yet another transportation option.
The Chedraui grocery store is the closest to the condo, and I actually preferred it to the Mega; both were far better grocery-wise than Wal-Mart, IMHO, plus they carry everything else one might need. (All carry the Nescafe Dolce Gusto capsules for Sara’s espresso machine.)
Our routine became: breakfast in the condo, light lunch at the snack shack, and dinner out. Pool and/or beach in between. Perfect for us. Huge props to the snack shack and the folks working there: great food, and Happy Hour from 3:00 to 6:00! “Mexilante” as they say at the shack.
We really liked the resort-feel at Villa Magna. It was fun to use the resort pools, palapas, etc, just as an AI guest, without any of the AI hassles. Plenty of pool-side loungers, sun or shade, at any time. The beach is, of course, world-class. Just to the south of Dreams, the beach was relatively crowded. To the north, almost no one. All water sport activities are offered within a few steps of the Dreams beach. Sara has a boogie board and other pool/beach items in the condo. Really, really nice location; best in the area.
Outstanding condo; great location; near-perfect beach; resort pools and amenities; lots of options; glorious sunsets; really good food at local/PV restaurants and the snack shack; Yep: we had a great time and would return to Sara’s condo in a heartbeat!
Thanks for all the great tips on the area. You have answered most of the questions first time guests have. Our routine is exactly the same, breakfast in the condo, snack by the pool for lunch and BBQ or cook dinner a couple nights and explore the restaurants in town the other nights. We hope to see you again next year.
First of all my Husband and I love Puerto Vallarta. We have been there 4 times prior to this vacation. We try to do VRBO because it gives us the best bang for our buck and we like what it has to offer. That being said.....This was our first time doing a VRBO vacation at a resort setting. We decided to go with this setting because we were traveling with our son and another family. We wanted accommodation that would have something for everyone. WOW...that it did. Sarah's condo was very accommodating for the eight of us. It is bigger than the pictures. What a wonderful surprise when we walked in. Everything from booking to getting to the condo was a cinch with the great communication from both Sarah and the property manager Kerry.
Both our families had the best vacation ever!!! The pools and the grounds at the resort were exceptional. Very clean and everyone was very nice and helpful. We did do the all inclusive option a couple of days. Very good food. No complaints at all. The small food shack that is there for condo guess where food is for purchase was also a nice surprise. We utilized the shack on the days we did not do all inclusive. The food was awesome and the drinks delicious. Get the ceviche!!!! It was nice not to have to go up to the condo to get something to eat or drink. I can't wait until our next vacation . We will definitely be coming back.
Thank you again Sarah and Kerry for helping us with one of the best vacations we have had.
I'm glad you enjoyed our condo. The 2300+ square feet is perfect for two families and guests are always pleasantly surprised by the size and the amazing view. We also love the flexibility to use the 24 hr all-inclusive, the affordable poolside snack bar or to cook or BBQ in the condo. We look forward to having you as guests in the future.
Just returned from a month in Sara's condo in Villa Magna and the experience was wonderful. The condo is very large, beds super comfortable, Netflix on large smart TVs and great furnishings throughout with views to die for. Everyrthing you need is here for a successful and stress free family vacation. Kerry, the property manager was fabulous and quickly responded to any and all of our needs.
Restaurants are a few blocks away or you can purchase a days all inclusive from the attached Dreams Hotel. Miles of sandy beach where you can walk & boogie board without any under tow.
A great place for a family vacation.
We're glad you enjoyed the condo as much as we do. I'm glad to hear the new mattress toppers are super comfortable.
Enjoy all of the common facilities of the Villa Magna/Dreams Hotel free of charge. The resort offers 3 large pools of varying temperatures and depths to accommodate guests of all ages, as well as adult only jacuzzi. On those days when no one wants to be in the kitchen, the resort's restaurants are available 'a la carte' or 24-hour all-inclusive passes may be purchased. Groceries and other sundry items are available at Paradise Plaza, 1 mile from Villa Magna. Nuevo Vallarta Walmart and 'Mega' are just 3 miles away. Tours and activities too numerous to mention can be booked through the resort's concierge desk.
