About jeanette

I sailed from Hawaii in 2012 and visited many beautiful islands in French Polynesia and the western South Pacific. When I arrived in Fiji I fell in love. Nature and the friendliness of the people is like no other place. Mill Rock Island was my first adventure. I built a deck from which to swim and fish. I built a bridge. I shared Kava with my neighbours. I took the Kayak up the river- and walks on the reef at low tide. I hope you will enjoy. Welcome to Mill Rock.

jeanette purchased this house in 2012

Why jeanette chose Savusavu

Mill Rock Island is symbiosis with nature. A small island with coconut palms and native shrubs it breathes the changing of the tide. Fish come and go. The ocean fills the river along the mangroves to the Salt lake.

Despite the remoteness of Mill Rock Island, do not be surprised if you are kindly invited to join the neighbours for Kava.

Combine a 3 night stay at Mill rock with 3 day stay at Lani paradise. See vrbo listing #511979

What makes this house unique

Slice of Heaven on Earth

We had the opportunity to experience Mill Rock on our honeymoon! It was spectacular. One of the most amazing parts is the display of stars at night. This is the perfect place for a quiet relaxing vacation. It was very clean and private. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Savusavu was a great place to visit for those looking to experience the local culture and "Fiji time". Everyone is very friendly and welcoming on the island. It was the perfect get away and we finally had time to relax and turn it all off.

Mill Rock Island

  • 5 of 5

In May 2012 I sailed in and anchored near Mill Rock island. That's when I first heard the story of Millers rock. The serene beautiful lagoon and unspoilt beauty of salt lake blew me away. That's when I decided to return there for my honeymoon. In May 2014 I spent a week on the island with my girlfriend. The small house on the island had been renovated and expanded with a deck for access to swim and snorkel. I would love to return for my honeymoon. Thank you Josh and the boys for sharing kava with us.
