Homey cabin with great location
Stayed here in December with kids. Great location with Bear Mountain ski lifts within 1 block. View from living room is a nice in person as in the pics. Cabin was warmed up prior to our arrival and Jacuzzi was ready to go! Fireplace at night was the perfect touch to add to the charm of this cabin. Would definitely stay here again...👌
Very close to Bear Mountain Resort
Only a short walk from Bear Mountain Ski resort, incredible views of the slopes. Only draw back to the cabin is that the lower level w/ the pool table, 2 twin beds, and 2nd of two total showers is not connected to the main cabin directly. You need to go outside then down a flight of stairs. Hot tub was in excellent working order and has an excellent view. The thermostat is a bit confusing, even w/ the heat off the lower level would get very hot at times.
Wonderful view. Beautifully decorated, cozy & comfortable
The cabin is very nice with a spectacular view. It’s decorated in a classic cabin theme making it an especially enjoyable space to just hang out. There is an outdoor patio area with new furniture and gas fire pit. The hot tub worked great and was sparkling clean. The kitchen is small but has most everything you might need. The master bedroom and upper bedroom beds are very comfortable. The pullout bed trampoline was not in good repair and the mattress needed to be placed on floor to use. Also important to note that 2 twin beds are located in a room that is detached from main house which may not be suitable for younger guests. Also during our stay we were not able to get the central heat to work properly.
While it heated the main house well, the detached room over heated making it complicated uninhabitable. As a result, 2 guests had to sleep on couch and floor. Management was very responsive and attempted to correct issue but was unsuccessful. Also there are many stairs within this property and may not be suitable for older guests or those with physical limitations.
We would gladly return again but only with 4 guests
Authentic cabin experience
If you are looking to stay somewhere with a lot of character and Big Bear charm this is the place for you. The cabin is architecturally beautiful. It has an A frame window which allows you to have a stunning view of the Bear mountain ski resort and surrounding trees. At night you can clearly see millions of stars and the Milky Way. The house is equipped with all the things you need. The kitchen is small but opens up to the living room. It does not have a dishwasher but has everything you need to make meals.
The third bedroom is separate from the other house and has two bunk style beds built into the wall, a full bathroom, tv, a pool table and the washer/dryer. Six of us were able to sleep in the main house because of the pull out couch in the den adjoining the upstairs bedroom. We were unable to use the sauna because the key didn't open the door, but used the outdoor jacuzzi.
The cabin is not fancy but has a lot of charm to make it beautiful. the decor and set up make it very charming. I would recommend it to family and friends.
A nice cabin
This is a very spacious cabin about a 5 minute walk from the ski slopes. Master bedroom has a bathroom and shower with a cool steamer feature. There's an additional 1/2 bath near the living room. Upstairs is another bedroom, 1/2 bath and loft area with sofabed. There's a downstairs unit that you go outside to get to. Had a pool table and two loft beds as well as a 3/4 bath. Top floor was very warm during the summer with only one vent to cool upstairs, but in the bottom unit the a/c was great. The big bear zoo is near the ski slopes and it was cool to hear the wolves howling in the distance when sitting outside at night. The hot tub is awesome, and worked great,we enjoyed using it. Sauna is for the owner's use only. Easy parking for three cars. The kitchen was stocked with just basic necessities. Horseshoes court were available in the yard.
Unfortunately the a/c wasn't working the first day we were there in summer heat, understandable as some critters had chewed the wiring. The property manager was very responsive and made sure it was fixed by the end of the second day. A credit for the inconvenience would've been appreciated since we paid extra for a place with a/c. The cushions for all the outdoor furniture had been removed for refreshing, and I probably wouldn't have stayed there had I know that since we like to sit outside. The bed mattresses weren't very comfy and there's no real closet or storage space for guests. Be sure to bring toilet paper as only a couple of rolls were available.
The host was very responsive to communication leading up to the stay.
Great location, views, and lots of space.
This was a great place to stay in Big Bear for a family of four (more could fit comfortably too). It was clean, beds were comfy, and the view of the slopes was better than the pictures. My only complaints are that the description isn't clear that the pool table room and sauna, along with two twin bunk-type beds, is not connected to the main house; also it took about 14 hours before the place was comfortably warm with the heater running constantly. We checked in around 9:00 pm, and the thermostat was only at 61 degrees when we got up in the morning. Bundle up and it's not a problem though. We didn't use the spa or sauna, and didn't cook at all, but the kitchen seemed well stocked, and the steamer in the master bath was really nice. I would definitely recommend this place, and would stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend!
You will love our new cabin. Stunning view of the slopes and short walk to Bear Mountain Ski Resort, walk to the trails in the National forest, mountain biking, golf and the zoo.
