About the property

READ MY REVIEWS! 2 bdrm, 2.5 bath, walk to town and bike path. Bikes included!

Welcome and thanks for considering my condo as your vacation rental. This condo is a quiet, very well maintained, SUPER clean property within walking distance to town and River Run lifts. You can also jump on the free city shuttle that stops close to your front door to head over to Baldy or to the village of Sun Valley. The master bed has a comfortable wool topper and the twins are pillow tops. The master closet is a huge walk in dressing room so other guest can sleep in. The vanity in the master has a dimmer for the same reason. The many ceiling fans make this condo extra comfortable no matter what the season. Summer there is a portable AC unit in the living room. There is a full setting of super cute dishes for 8. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for a holiday dinner right down to pie plates and a pan large enough for that turkey. Stemless wine glasses, and a good selection of pots and pans. I have put in the things I wish I had when I use a rental. Mine is above and beyond!

It's a reverse floor plan so you can drop your bags in the bedroom on the main floor. No lugging bags up to loft sleeping areas. Ugh!

The living and dining areas are upstairs with an open floor plan with two ceiling fans. There is a pellet stove for those cold winter nights that gives the living space a cozy glow if you chose to fire it up. The property has been completely remodeled and reflects a comfortable Sun Valley atmosphere of kicking back and relaxing.

The master bedroom, bath and vanity area welcomes you with beautiful tile floors that are heated in winter and a super comfortable king size bed. It's one of the few properties in this price range with underground parking; a huge plus when you wake up to 10” of new powder! It's also great to have a garage for hot summer days and protects things stored in the car.

The main bedroom has two pillow top twin beds with a bath directly across the heated hallway.

It's close to city center so you can walk into town for all it has to offer. The mountaintop can be seen from the living room balcony and master bedroom helping you with goggle selection for the day. There is a large flat screen TV in the living area as well as a wall mounted TV in the master. In addition, it's furnished with comfortable couch, love seat, easy chair and ottoman. Mission Oak style tables and entertainment center offer a lodge look at this mountain get away. All wood is glass topped for carefree drinking and dining!

The kitchen is well-designed including, dishwasher, icemaker, pots and pans, electric tea pot, coffee pot, microwave and more. The dining table seats six with a glass top for carefree entertaining. There is service for eight.

For those with sensitive skin, it's equipped with a water softener that effects all water except the kitchen sink for drinking. EVERYTHING is in perfect working order, super clean and maintained at high standards. Please contact me with all of your questions and I look forward to having you as my guests. Please read the FIVE STAR reviews and thanks for taking a look.

About Diane Calevro

I moved to Idaho from Ohio to go skiing in 1977 and never went back. After being a licensed barber and a Yellowstone Park employee, I became a certified personal trainer and a licensed practical nurse. Over-achiever right? I was fortunate enough to buy my condo in 1993 using it first as just a vacation home, then living full time in it from 2009-2014. I have enjoyed the ski seasons here like no other place, but I have now moved to Boise, ID. I enjoy the bigger city on a full-time basis and my condo as my vacation home again. It also keeps me more appreciative of what an amazingly beautiful place Sun Valley is. Truly breathtaking!

Diane Calevro purchased this condo in 1993

Why Diane Calevro chose Sun Valley Area

I purchased this because it was in town, which was my biggest deciding factor. I wanted to be able to walk to River Run Lodge for Après ski afternoons, Ketchum Alive (summer music event), and bike to get my groceries. I can also walk or bike to do hikes, hit the bike path, (for skate skiing too), attend summer symphonies, party or eat uptown Ketchum. It's like living in the 50's! Everything is close. I Love that! The market is also a walk away with a most amazing deli!

What makes this condo unique

I have completely remodeled every inch of this vacation home to make it comfortable and super user-friendly. Softened water, celling fans, warm tile floors, (cool in summer), pellet stove is fabulous and there is an efficient portable room air conditioner in the living room for the few weeks it might get used in summer. It all makes for a comfy stay. The Master Bedroom has a large walk-in closet with plenty of room for your things, but also allows a place to dress while someone sleeps in. There is a hassle-free pull down ironing board in the closet--always ready to go yet out of the way. The main bedroom has two twin pillow-top beds on rollers to easily push together. The sliding closet doors are mirrored and there is also a full length mirror in the master bedroom and main bath. Vanities are well lit for make up application. Mood lighting in the well appointed kitchen above cabinets is great for romantic dinners. Free city bus stops close in front of the condo to head to town or Sun Valley Village. It's SUPER clean, great in town location, an open kitchen, comfortable beds, nice kitchen items, and airy with portable room AC upstairs and ceiling fans. Provided on check in is: initial dish soap and new sponge, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, hand soap, toilet paper and paper towel. It's nice to have these things when you fly in, however, it's not provided throughout the stay.

In Winter, Sun Valley offers World Class skiing. Not just downhill skiing on Baldy, but miles of skate skiing trails on the Harriman Trail and north of Ketchum at Galena Summit. Galena Lodge offers full moon snowshoe walks that include dinners. The Sun Valley Lodge is a historic place full of photographs of movie stars and Olympian skaters spending time there. It's absolutely stunning with a new added day spa building. Don't miss it. The ice rink is year round.

Summer in Sun Valley is magical! The summer free symphony, summer concert series and wine auction are just a few of the happening things in the valley. The Sun Valley Lodge is sporting a new look with a complete renovations inside with the addition of a Spa building. It's stunning! Redfish Lake is only an hour's drive north for boating, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boats, canoes, biking, hiking, and camping. The condo is equipped with coolers, ice packs, and low back chairs for music events. The bike path is close and there are two Schwinn Cruisers to enjoy the ride in style.

There is a YMCA within walking and biking distance.

Everything in this condo is updated and in good working order. It's nicely decorated and comfortable. Master bed has a wool topper for added comfort, while twins are pillow tops. Showers have great water pressure with hand held shower heads. There is plenty of hot water with a new water heater in 2016. The pellet stove is SO cozy and portable standing AC unit in the summer works great. TV's are good with a 48' flat screen. The area is quiet which is nice. Beautiful, comfortable, spacious condo close to everything

  • 5 of 5

I LOVED staying here. We came to Ketchum to ski, but the weather did not cooperate. Even so, we had a fabulous time largely due to this fabulous condo. The condo is stylishly decorated with cool knick knacks and stylish rustic decorations. There are a lot of touches to remind the visitor of the location such as vintage skis and snowboards on the wall and cute mountain decor.

The beds and living room furniture are all very comfortable. I was able to immediately relax and get a good night's sleep. The kitchen is especially well-equipped - you will want for nothing.

Owner's Response: Dear Anne, I am thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your stay. Especially so to know you were comfortable no matter where you were: sleeping or hanging out in the living room. I do strive to be sure my guests have what they need. I hope you'll give Sun Valley another try. The weather you had was so not the norm. I look forward to having you back! Best to you, Diane

Perfect family stay

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect condo for our family of 4! We stayed here for the final few days of our road trip and everyone appreciated how roomy the condo is. The master suite is huge, and felt like it's own separate retreat which was so nice to be able to relax in after hours of driving! The condo is beautifully updated and decorated throughout, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, quiet yet easy to bike or walk into town without needing to drive. It was also a very short walk to Mt. Baldy, which had some great trails for hiking and would be amazing to ski in the winter.

I'm not a big reviewer but this home is very well thought out and has everything you could need. It's very well decorated and made you feel like you were right at home. An easy walk or bike ride to the tram or the restaurants. I would absolutely stay here again.

Diane was a great host! She was totally agreeable with an early arrival and a late check-out. She quickly responded to questions and gave great tips as to where to eat. Her home was well appointed and very clean

Owner's Response: I am so pleased your first VRBO was with me! I do aim to please and am a stickler on CLEAN! You're right about the location,--can't beat it. You can walk uptown for dinner, to the mountain to ski or lunch, to the bike path, etc. It's why I bought it--location, location, location! In the summer I provide bikes which bring a lot of folks back because you can get anywhere in Ketchum and Sun Valley cities on a bike. I also want to thank you for taking such great care of the condo! You left it SO CLEAN! It's greatly appreciated. I hope you will stay again one day. I gave you 5 stars in all categories! Diane

Well appointed, clean, very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed for the first half of our honeymoon before heading off to Jackson Hole. We commented to each other multiple times how much we "felt at home." Full service hotels can be nice, but being able to cook meals rather than go out to eat for every meal is a plus.

One of the greatest features of this rental has nothing to do with the unit itself. The owner, Diane, has gone to extreme ends to ensure everything you need to know is well documented in a well-organized binder. From the operation of the heated floors, internet, pellet stove, garage, ski locker, etc, etc, etc, she documented it all. It was so helpful to have that guide.

From the moment you enter onto the heated tile floor, it seems like everything was well thought out. It appears to be a newly remodeled unit. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds with decent closet space and 3/4 bath directly across the hall.

There is a water softener, so don't use too much soap! :)

The Master Bedroom has a full bath, patio, mounted TV, electric "fireplace" heater, and a king size bed. The master bed is pretty firm, but we're used to sleeping on a memory foam mattress. Even so, it was not terrible. The sheets are of a flannel variety. Comfortable pillows. Big walk-in closet, built-in ironing board.

The kitchen is superbly appointed. All sizes of non-stick pans, plenty of glass, flat, and silverware. There is everything you need you to cook a meal just as if you were at home. There is a 1/2 bath connected to the kitchen so you don't have to run downstairs to use the bathroom. There is a nice eat-in bar where two can eat comfortably with a dining room table right behind seating 4.

There is a full washer and dryer in a laundry room connected to the kitchen.

The living room is very comfortable. We hooked up our Chromecast to the TV to watch our favorite shows, so can't comment about the functions of the Cable or Blue-Ray player. But the TV is a nice size flat screen. The couches and lounge chair are quite comfy. After a long day of snowboarding, we'd just relax on the couch with the pellet fireplace on watching TV.

The internet is of decent speed at 15 Mbps. Fast enough to stream TV shows through Google Play.

In Summary, you can tell the owner put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring a comfortable stay. We would definitely return again.

Owner's Response: Wow Andrew! Thank you for the amazing review! Are you a realtor? :-) You described my condo perfectly! And such high praise. I appreciate that. I am glad you found my Guide to Inside useful. When I went to the VRBO conference many owners were complaining they get calls on how to work the TV, lights, stereo, etc. I could not believe everyone didn't make a guide. Just seemed like common sense to me. I had one group of four older men tell me it was the first time they could figure out the electronics in a rental, so they too found it very useful. Bummer about the bed. You're actually the first to tell me it was too hard. There is a wool mattress cover on it and most people's reviews comment that it's very comfortable. Memory foam is awesome though and you're right, it does not compare to that amazing stuff. Speaking of amazing, you guys were FABULOUS guests. I gave you 5 star reviews in all categories! You did so much laundry and cleaning; above and beyond what was expected. It's so appreciated by me and my housekeeper. I look forward to have you back one day! Diane
