Sweet Spot

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here over the new year holiday and it was a very pleasant place! The cabin has a great fireplace and is very spacious. It is about a 15 min drive to big bear village but there is a bar and some restaurants that are very close. Overall the house was what you would expect for a cozy cabin, there are a few areas that could use some TLC but overall it was in very good condition.

We had an issue with the hot tub and the cable, neither worked for our stay. I contacted the owner upon arrival and he responded promptly and attempted to get the matter taken care of but due to the holiday the hot tub was going to stay cold. It was understandable and I feel like the owner did what he could to get the issue fixed. He also gave us a partial refund which was greatly appreciated!

Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon!

White Christmas

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed our time together in this cabin over the Christmas holiday. The rental process was simple, and we had no problems getting into the cabin or getting connected to wifi. The cabin is located just far enough from town to give it a more rustic feel, but close enough to easily access groceries and entertainment. We arrived the night before a storm and were grateful for the several working heaters and a snow shovel. The carpet looks newer, the couches were comfortable, and for the most part, the cabin seemed clean and well-maintained, other than a few small things (the coffee maker hadn't been cleaned out and had mold from the person prior and a pretty large part of the counter was peeling away). It appears as if the cabin is more for the owner's personal use than to be used as a rental, but that only helped to add to its homey vibe.

Nice cabin, with a few issues

  • 3 of 5

We booked this cabin at the last minute for the Labor Day holiday weekend. It's a little far from the main Big Bear Lake area, but there is a great park just down the street that my 2 kids really enjoyed. Overall, we were satisfied with the property, but we were annoyed by the lack of internet and cable during our stay. Also, the information on the HomeAway app was a bit confusing- it seemed like at times it was describing an entirely different property (ex: referring to a 2nd floor when there wasn't one in this cabin). The problems were minor in the grand scheme of things since we only stayed 2 nights, but if we were staying longer I certainly would have wanted them resolved.

The only other thing that was an issue was the access to the jacuzzi- there wasn't a lot of outdoor lighting and the path was not particularly smooth, so we all tripped over various rocks and sticks on our way out there.

Kids Memories

  • 4 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at this cabin. We invisioned snowball fights, making snowmen and sitting by a nice warm fire and that is what we got. The older girls had a great time at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain. The cabin was comfortable and spacious for all. The kids loved watching movies in the loft away from the adults. We would love to come back again. Thank you for the opportunity.

What more could we add... This was the best cabin, very well stocked, cozy and warm,. we were there for Christmas, and actually got to see snow falling. Plenty of parking, roomy, and we brought along a queen sized blow up mattress which was fun to sleep on in front of the wood burning fireplace.

The cabin is private, and we were close to the tubing, and the town. We cooked in, and played board games, and visited a few nice restaurants and one not so nice. Stay away from the sushi restaurant, it made me sick. Read the reviews, however, Palios, the Italian restaurant was wonderful. The bowling was a blast as well. there was snow fall everywhere. A real first white Christmas! I would highly recommend this place...it will house all of you with 2 nice bathrooms, a cute cozy loft above for the kids. We had everything we needed and more. We would love to stay here again.

Great cabin

we really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very clean and the pictures do not do it justice. Very relaxing and plenty of room outside to enjoy the wilderness.
