So good that we had to extend our stay !

  • 5 of 5

This is an awsesome home-away-from-home. It’s spacious, light and cozy with everything you could possibly need and, to cap it all, we think it’s located in the best corner of the whole Seattle area.

The open-plan kitchen has every appliance you need and the adjacent living area has gorgeous views across the Pugent Sound to the snow-capped Olympic mountain range. The two upstairs bedrooms are large, with en-suites and the whole downstairs can be treated as a separate living area with a second lounge, bedroom and half-bathroom.

The house is about a 15 minute walk from the center of Edmonds which has a lovely village feel and a great choice of coffee shops, bars and restaurants (try Giardini’s, Salt & Iron, Sunset 190) but Seattle CBD is only a 20minute drive home after a show.

If you are looking for a base to explore this gorgeous corner of Washington State then you couldn’t find a better place. A 90 minute drive gives you a choice of Cascade mountains (Mt Baker, Steven’s Pass or Snoqualmie) or if you prefer the Islands, then you have the Mukilteo ferry to Whidbey Island just 30 minutes drive away or Anacortes for the San Juan Islands about 90 minutes north. The Edmonds-Kingston ferry is right on your doorstep and takes you to the Olympic Peninsula for an endless choice of hikes, walks and cute, relaxed villages.

So, here’s your choice : sit on the sun deck and gaze at snow-capped mountains; walk into Edmonds for a nice meal; check out a show in Seattle CBD or drive into the Cascades for a hike into the mountains !

It is so good that after three months staying here we still have more to do so we have extended our stay until our USA visa expires ! (Sorry for hogging the place). Thanks to Glenn and Kirsti for sharing their beautiful home.

Owner's Response: It was an absolute pleasure meeting you having you stay at the house! Happy that the location worked out so beautifully for exploring the state and enjoying both Edmonds and Seattle. And we are pleased that you enjoyed the lovely view of the Sound during your stay. Can't wait to see you both again next year! Have a lovely summer! Jenifer

Wet Fall in Edmonds

  • 5 of 5

We were here from Alaska to have our baby near a hospital. The king size bed was comfortable enough for my pregnant wife to sleep in. The Master Bath had plenty of room for a changing matt and two people to work around the baby after she was born. The garage provided covered access to the house with a covered walkway, which was great as it was the wettest October on record. The second refrigerator and freezer were convenient for the longer stays that happen at this house.

Of course the crown jewel of this house is the view of the Edmonds Harbor and watching the ferry and other boats come in and out framed against the Olympics. Grilling was enjoyable out on the deck looking out on the sound.

Other bonuses were the walkability (helped put baby to sleep). We could walk 15 minutes and be at a number of grocery stores, or go the other way and be at the library. Accessibility to I-5 was simple via, 2-3 different arterials, each with a good source of groceries (Costco, Trader Joe's, PCC, QFC). Room for family to visit as well with the queen size bedroom and basement area with room for a second television area and trundle bed. Also, the internet, Netflix, and cable TV were appreciated.

Tub and toilet colors were unique colors but worked with the themes of the bathroom overall.

Owner's Response: We are so happy to hear that the house worked out well for you and your family! And that you enjoyed grilling on the deck with the view of Edmonds Harbor, it is so beautiful with the Ferry's coming in and out and the Olympic Mountains framing the sound . Again, thank you for your stay and congratulations on the new addition to your family! We look forward to seeing you again.

Great view from the balcony

  • 4 of 5

my husband and I rented this unit for 5 weeks while waiting for our grandchild to be born. We found the area very quiet and safe. We walked from the house to the city of Edmonds a lot . The home is very comfortable and the neighbors very nice. Kitchen was nice for cooking. Had company and found it to be plenty of room for my grandson to play. Beds were comfortable (needs to update linens) but no big deal. Overall great location and very close to grocery stores
