Beautiful, breathtaking views in every direction.

We rented this lovely, immaculately maintained home for a "girls getaway" though all four of us are 71 years old! The house and grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and we picked vegetables from the garden for our dinner and had eggs from the chicken coop for breakfast. The pond is only a short walk from the house and on one early morning walk two of us were beyond excited when we saw a bear going up the hill on the opposite side of the pond. Wanda and Wes were great hosts and suggested out of the ordinary places to visit as well as some of the more well known sites in Franklin, Floyd, and Rockbridge Counties. We hiked in the mountains, danced at the Floyd County Store on a Friday night, visited the Spikenard Honey Bee Sanctuary, and oohed and aahed over the breathtaking scenery wherever we went. We couldn't have chosen a more luxurious place to bask in the beauty of nature.

Exciting Country Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Great house on a great piece of land. Pond was full of bass, deer were out everyday, and the turkeys were near by. If you want a secluded get away with lots of outdoor activities, this place is it. We had two full families living comfortably for four days.

Only aspect some may find inconvienent is the distance to civilization. The roads getting there are tight, winding, and filled with deer.

Great stay and would absolutely stay again.

mountain paradise!

We had a perfect week. Beautiful full moon & sky full of stars at night. We enjoyed it all: walks in the woods, sitting on the deck, canoeing in the pond, listening to the wind whistling through the trees, building a fire down by the pond, feeding the pigs, watching the proud rooster lead his flock, comfortable beds and a well planned house with everything we needed in reach. The kitchen is well stocked and has state of the art cookware and knives. The owners brought us fresh eggs and beans on arrival and gave us the best garlic ever to take home. A memorable vacation.

Great place!!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful had all the amenities plenty of room great deck and the setting awesome! We enjoyed the fireplace in the large living room. Plenty of very comfortable seating. Hundreds of acres to explore, beautiful pond, look forward to coming and swimming in the summer. So peaceful and quite. All of us (3 couples) loved everything about this place and will come back again to enjoy the beauty of the different seasons. If you enjoy seclusion and the outdoors you will love this place, but you are also not to far from Floyd and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The owners have done a great job of making everything so comfortable.
