About Playlist Properties

SAM COOPER- Over the decades, Sam has performed from coast to coast, in many styles and genres. As a resident of Nashville, TN, he often performs in songwriter settings there. As a vocalist, guitarist and bass player, Sam started performing professionally in the late 1960's. While still in Richmond, Sam played guitar behind both singer/songwriters Cleve Francis (also an accomplished producer/artist) and the late great Steve Yudowich from 1970 to 1971. After moving to New Jersey at the beginning of 1972, he performed (in chronological order) as a soloist and as a member of bands such as SOUTHBOUND, BONE DRY, TRICK ZIPPER, OPUS I, THE ACME BOOGIE COMPANY (which originally also included long-time friend Vini 'Mad Dog' Lopez, who was Bruce Springsteen's drummer from the 60's all the way through his second album on Columbia Records), DEUCE COUPE (with Lisa Martin), VINI LOPEZ AND THE DISCO REJECTS, THE MIGHTY ACCENTS, PHATMAN (featuring Slick Aguilar who is the long-time guitarist for Paul Kantner and Marty Balin, as well as a long-time member of JEFFERSON STARSHIP), MAJOR WOODY & THE SPLINTERS, THE SONNY PREWITT BAND and HEY! BETTY! Currently, he still occasionally performs at various locations in Nashville, TN, where he continues to share the stage with some of the top writers and recording artists. THE FUTURE--Sam's primary focus is behind the scenes as a songwriter, producer and musician. His work covers a lot of stylistic ground--classic rock, country, Americana, classic soul, rhythm & blues, funk, reggae, country rock, blues, straight-out rock & roll, southern rock, folk, heavy metal, jazz, & pop music. Besides writing and recording his own material, Sam collaborates with both established and rising artists/writers in production and songwriting. He's working with award-winning songwriter Chris Gantry on several projects as a co-writer and co-producer as well as working with other writers and performers, some well-established names & some still breaking through.

Why Playlist Properties chose Downtown

Sam married the love of his life, Dawn, in 2001. By previous marriages, he has 3 sons and she has 1. Sam had performed his original songs and cover tunes in bars, shows and for private engagements for decades, but it was Dawn who encouraged him to make the jump into the music 'industry'. In 2005, the plans formed and in 2006, he visited Nashville for the 1st time. He immediately realized that this was where he belonged. Within months, he was commuting back & forth between both homes, 2 weeks at a time. About three years later, it became a lopsided situation with most of his time spent in Nashville. In 2010, he officially became a resident of Nashville, originally in this loft, where he writes/produces music in several genres at his own and other various studios.

Really cute place in the absolute best location -- we walked everywhere but the Grand Ole Opry. Clean and comfortable accommodations. Only thing that would have made it perfect was a bigger coffee pot. :)

Reviewer Comments:

We enjoyed the Musicians Loft very much, with the exception of the bed. It seemed to have a low spot right at the center, making it uncomfortable. We loved the beautiful leather couch and chairs, the stools with the rotating seats, and everything about the kitchen. The WIFI had a strange quirk: you had to go into the settings and select the WIFI everytime you left your computer go to sleep. Bathroom was a little bit small, but functional and clean. The entire loft was clean. All in all, it was a beautiful place, with the exception of the bed. A higher score would be very easy to give if the bed were comfortable, I am sorry to say, it left a lot to be desired.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. The mention of the bed is very puzzling. We have had multiple guests call post-stay to ask what type of mattress this loft has so they could buy the same one! We did check to be sure nothing was is need of repair on the bed frame, and it is fine. We are so sorry it wasn't perfect for you, but we always get rave reviews on this mattress and the loft overal.

Reviewer Comments:

The condo is an a great location and the furnishings were very good. However, the bathroom sink has no water pressure. The hot water just dribbles out, the cold water is not much better. The kitchen sink and tub are fine. This issue should have been addressed prior to our arrival. The coffee machine must be replaced. It is old, small and only makes 4 cups at a time. Also, the coffee filters provided are the wrong size.
