About Robert Meditz
We are a fifty something couple who fell in love with the keys in one day. I manage a moving company and my wife is a pediatric ICU RN. We currently live and work in the NYC area and dream of the day that we can call the Keys our home.
Robert Meditz purchased this Mobile Home in 2004
Why Robert Meditz chose Sexton Cove
When we first saw this house and walked around the property and sat at the dock we knew we had found our home.
What makes this Mobile Home unique
There was never any one thing that sold us on the home it was more of a feeling that we both got from being there. The quiet evenings looking at the water, the noisy parrots flying overhead, the occasional slap of the tarpons tail on the water and the visiting manatee all combine to make this place very special. We enjoy being there and hope that anyone that stays will too.

Loved Key Largo
We really enjoyed The Spot. The house was immaculate, comfortable, and well appointed. We ate daily and relaxed on the lanai. The kitchen had everything we needed with nice appliances and great glasses for cocktails. We saw manatees on several occasions, one with a baby, and lots of jumping fish and birds. The neighborhood is quiet. Snorkeling at Pennekamp was fantastic and the restaurants (especially the Fish Market and the Encore) were delicious. We have tans which will fade, ten extra pounds to get rid of, and fond memories to keep.
Perfect for our type of vacation! We love to fish & snorkel, so this place fits the bill!
We fished and snorkeled everyday using the dock for loading and unloading rods, coolers, snorkel gear, which is extremely difficult if we kept the boat at a marina. The large screened in porch was perfect for us to stow all our gear and we used the fish cleaning station almost everyday. We went out for sunset boat rides and tried out several waterfront restaurants/bars. Our favorite was Hobo's Cafe, (not waterfront, but so good it does not matter!), they specialize in Hog Snapper, Mahi, Grouper and Yellowtail, all my favorites. The location has easy access to the bayside and you can get to the Atlantic side by going through Adams Canal just a mile south. We snorkeled all over Pennekamp and found several spots not on the map that we marked for next year. The kitchen/living room area was great for everyone to hangout during the afternoon thunderstorms and two showers is a great advantage. We will be back again next year!!
Well stocked with necessities
Good location especially if you have a boat. Very close to Miami with great sunsets. The owner couldn't have been nicer or more cooperative and responsive to our needs.
Absolutely AMAZING Wildlife Central!
I am so very glad that we stayed here. We will definitely be back! The place was clean, and had every possible amenity that you could think of (DVD player, blender, pots, pans, tons of towels, extra blankets, crab pod, games, etc...long list.) Robert was extremely helpful, and accommodating as well. Anything we needed he was very quick with his responses.
The place has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and laundry on site. This was perfect for me, my husband, and son. They very much enjoyed fishing off the dock, and caught quite a bit. We saw manatees several times, an iguana, tons of fish, and crabs. Really nice fish cleaning station right on the dock! We actually baited the crab pod and caught a few little stone crabs, and one big one. Just a note if you are into that you do not kill the stone crabs to eat them, you break off their claws and eat those. Stone crabs regenerate their claws very fast. Being by the canal was much more productive than our $600 fishing charter...
Neighbors are super friendly, and they will direct you to any of your needs. One lady actually came over and corrected my husbands "fishing techniques" which was hilarious for me to watch :) We did a fishing charter in Key West that was unsuccessful. When to Harry Harris Park (which is great for families), rented kayaks from Florida Bay Outfitters (absolutely awesome) and did our own "eco tour" saving $350. There is a Dollar Store, and grocery store (Win-Dixie) very close by. You have to check out Key Largo Chocolates and Ice Cream (NOT ALL KEY LIME PIE IS CREATED EQUAL!), but the stuff there is amazing.
Overall amazing trip other than our sunburn :) Hope you decide to stay here, you won't be disappointed!
Christmas in the Keys
My husband, 15 year old daughter and I stayed here for 10 days this Christmas and we loved it! The owner was very responsive and kind. We are late sleepers but we all got up before 8 just sit outside and enjoy the property. We saw manatees, spotted lobsters, parrots, crocs and tons of fish right off the dock! We are hoping to rent this property again same time next year! Thanks again for sharing your property with us.
Nice and clean with a good dock for my boat.
My wife and I stayed here for the month of July 2015 and were very pleased with this rental. House is loaded with all you'll need for a vacation. Lot's of Florida Keys decorations to put you in the mood for life on the water. We would rent again.
If you love the sunshine and water this is the place for you, whether you want to relax at the dock and watch the sun go down or go kayaking or boating and glimpse nature at play. Manatees and dolphins are visible as are the iguanas sleeping in the mangrove trees. You will notice pelicans, herons, egrets and parrots among the various type of birds in the area. There are several tours to the reef for snorkeling or diving from John Pennecamp State Park or down at mile marker 100 on the Oceanside. Several of the marinas have 1/2 days and full day deep sea fishing tours for the novice and the serious fisherman. Taking a drive down US 1 to Key West and enjoying the views is a great way to spend a day. There is the Turtle Hospital in Marathon that is a great destination and the Diver Museum is quite enjoyable and informative. Various restaurants in the area are culinary delights - The Fish House and Encore, Sundowners and Snooks are tops - lighter fare can be found at Gilberts Resort along with live music most days. Other favorites are the Buzzards Roost and Shipwrecks. If you enjoy cooking check out the Keys Fisheries at mile marker 99.5 on the Oceanside for the freshest fish and shellfish. Either way you will be well fed in the Keys!
