Overview

About the property

Group cabin in the Smoky Mountains sleeps 30+; equipped kitchen; quiet location

Above the town of Maggie Valley, neighboring Cataloochee Ranch and Ski area, Outdoor Mission Camp looks directly at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As an affiliate of Youth For Christ, we host summer camps and retreats throughout the year. During our off seasons, we invite groups and families to enjoy the beauty of OMC; rustic, yet comfortable, wild, yet serene. We have over half a million acres in our front yard, and are a great base for your next trip to the mountains. Our Camp is an affiliate of Youth For Christ.

The Stables, our lodge, sleeps up to 30 in bunkbeds (with additional sleeping on pull out couches or air mattresses). Perfect for family reunions, retreats, and youth groups. The Stables has two bunk rooms, and two large bathrooms, that accommodate multiple users each. A fully stocked kitchen, great for large group food preparation, is yours to use. You will also find a dining area downstairs that transforms to a gameroom, meeting area, or worship center. If the weather is nice head out to our large scenic wrap around pitch, to enjoy your meal!

Spending a day at OMC, could be as simple as finding a quiet space on our porch as you take in the beaty of the the national park ridge, directly across from us. Or maybe you're up for a hike. There are miles of trails and beautiful scenery accessed right from our property.

Coming with a group? Need us to facilitate? With advanced notice we can lead your first rock climbing trip, teach you to roll a kayak, build your team on our challenge course, take you backpacking, or guide you on a white water raft trip. We are happy to cook for you with a bit of notice and have plenty of experience with both casual camp cooking and hosting fine dinners.

Nearby, you can enjoy the eclectic city of Asheville, the historic community in Cherokee, or even the quaint shopping in Waynesville. Head over to the Cataloochee Ranch, for horseback riding and great meals. And if you're booking a winter escape, we are only 2 minutes from great skiing and tubing (ask about our group rate at the slopes). OMC even has an onsite sledding hill, when there is natural snow!

Call us with questions and check out our website and Facebook page. We look forward to meeting you.

**As a family friendly ministry site we do not allow alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or firearms on the property.**

Amazing place for groups!

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing! Even though we didn't have snow in the third weekend in January we had a great time! Ben was great to deal with in planning and suggesting alternate things to do when our "ski trip" was altered because of the hot weather. I would recommend this to any of my friends that are looking for somewhere to take a church group from 10 - 30 people! This place has almost everything you need or would think of for larger group. Thanks for having us!

Sincerely,

Standpoint
