Not a good party pad, but perfect for professionals/romantic getaways/families.

Just off of the south side of the St. Johns bridge, this non-smoking no-pet property, is in Forest Park, just 10 minutes by car to Portland's Northwest District and Thurman Street, 8 minutes to the University of Portland, 10-15 minutes drive away from the Pearl District for all of the bars and restaurants one might desire, 15 minutes to OHSU, and Portland State, as well as just a minute or two over the St. John's bridge to grocery stores, the post office, shops, and restaurants. This location is just three minutes (over the bridge) to your nearest Safeway!

Across the street from one of the largest urban parks in America with over 5000 acres, Forest Park provides endless paths and a wilderness experience (might prefer a car for reaching trail heads). This townhouse offers views of 3-4 volcanoes, the Willamette River and St. John's bridge. You will want a car - you really NEED a car - at this location to go pretty much anywhere, but there IS a bus if issues present themselves: http://trimet.org/pdfs/schedulemaps/016.pdf

This location is perfect for four or fewer people! One small bathroom is downstairs off of the living room and kitchen area for guests, while two additional full bathrooms are upstairs with three carpeted bedrooms. The bedrooms upstairs include one queen bed (room #1), two twin beds (room #2), and there is an empty third bedroom for yoga or just extra space. The patio offers water and volcano views, and the kitchen features granite counter tops, SS appliances, dining table for four plus two bar stools, as well as a complete set of dishes and cookware.This location is not ideal for BBQ time, and there is no BBQ equipment.

High-speed wireless service is available. In addition, there's one television with very basic cable in the living room, but otherwise is is a fairly low-tech space - there are not speakers for music or that sort of thing.

This is a non-smoking residence, and animals/boats/trailers/motorcycles/etc. are NOT permitted here (with the neighbors’ bedroom windows over the driveway, big fun toys can actually be problematic). Except in the case of animal reports or smoking/noise/parking/neighbor complaints, key loss or damages to the property, security deposits will be returned within 7 days of check out.

Having spent time remodeling a 1950s condo and then a 100-year old home, I like new construction. This is a large town home with a warm fireplace in a very quiet location.

What makes this condo unique

The views of the volcanoes and river are stunning, and I enjoy jetting out for a quick hike in Forest Park. This condo is relatively new, so it is just a nice place to spend some time.

Comfortable Condo

We stayed a week in Catherin's condo and could not have been more comfortable. We especially enjoyed being able to flip a switch and have a great fire in the fireplace. The bed was very comfortable. We thought the location was great and it is 5 minutes over to St. Johns with lots of restaurants/coffee shops or 10 minutes over to the NW 23rd shopping district which is full of restaurants/shopping, boutiques. We found the unit to be quiet and clean. We will definitely plan to stay at this location again. Great communication from the owner and everything was exactly as presented in the pictures.

Portland Marathon Weekend

We were coming into town to watch my son run in the Portland marathon and needed a place we could all stay during the weekend. I have rented places before thru Home Away in our visits to Oregon and have had great experiences. It's a better deal than renting multiple hotel rooms. and gives you a feeling of being at home. To me it make a vacation even better. After searching the listings we opted for the Volcano/Water view townhouse. It was a great choice. Catherine was very timely in her response to our request and throughout our communications. She checked in via text upon our arrival to make sure everything was in order, and before our departure.

The town house overlooks the Willamette river and it was interesting watching all the big boat traffic on the river while sitting out on the deck. There is also a huge park behind the house with great trails, I got in a couple of 5 mike hikes during our stay. You will need a car to go most places, but there are a lot of nice pubs and eateries nearby in St. Johns, just over the bridge. It's also really easy and quick to get downtown via Hwy 30.

The day of the marathon was steady rain. The race was set for a 7:00 am start. I was surprised how easy it was to get downtown. We got downtown and parked in about 20 minutes. As spectators we were wet and cold, fortunately my son made it easy on us by finishing in 2hr 46min. after the race we all headed back to the townhouse, turned on the fireplace and got warm & toasty. What a nice extra luxury to have.

On the day we were leaving it was sunny and clear and we finally got to see why this place is called volcano/water view. It was the first time we got to see the mountains, the place has a great view of Mount St Helen and I think it was Mt Rainier. and from the deck off to the right, Mt Hood, thru the uprights of the St Johns bridge.

This place was everything that we wanted for our stay, clean, well appointed and convenient. With two bathrooms and two bedrooms upstairs nobody is waiting their turn for the shower. The kitchen has everything you need and everything works.

Thank you Catherine for sharing this place with people. We would definitely stay here again.

Close, convenient, PERFECT!

I was reluctant to book this condo because, on the map, it looked too far out. That just isn't accurate. It is convenient to great Portland neighborhoods and downtown, while providing hassle-free parking, a great view, and tons of living space for a great rate! Since we traveled in August, we thoroughly enjoyed having a/c! The fireplace would be wonderful if you're traveling in the cooler months. We loved that someone could get up early, make coffee, and not disturb everyone else. It was immaculately clean and well stocked with necessities, and Catherine couldn't have been more available and accommodating! The beds were really comfortable, too! I travel for a living and routinely stay in 4 star hotels and I enthusiastically recommend Catherine's lovely condo for your Portland trip!

A Very Comfortable and Easy Stay

Our family of 3 persons stayed at Catherine's for 11 nights. The condo is very clean, spacious, and with all the furnishings one would need for a comfortable stay. Location is convenient to shopping in northwest Portland not far by car. There is a driveway to park your car which sure beats having to find street parking. We also enjoyed being so close to Forest Park and walking the trails. Having a view from the living room to wake up and come home to was a great way to start and end the day. Catherine could be easily reached by email or phone when needed. What a pleasant stay we had in Portland!

Great Location with Relaxing View

The location of this place was great! It was very easy to navigate to anywhere we wanted to go in Portland and Vancouver. We sat out on the balcony for a bit each night as we wound down from the evening and took in the amazing view of the Willamette River. The house had everything we needed and were glad to say there.

This relatively new townhome is clean, new, quiet, safe, and very comfortable for small family or romantic getaways, as well as for executive travel. Just a few minutes from shops and grocery stores, this property is near St. Johns (TWO minutes over the bridge to St. Johns) but technically in Forest Park (Just off of the south side of the St. Johns bridge). You do need a car, but you will be right across the street (and down the road a bit) from Forest Park trail heads, a large wilderness space with endless trails for walking, running, and hiking. Hiking in Forest Park, enjoying St. Johns and views of its bridge, as well as dinners in the Pearl District are all very easy from here.

There are 'enough' but minimal decorations so that you have space to organize your things (not many trinkets). This unit is VERY clean, the building is relatively new, and the beds/linens are professionally cleaned and managed. Unfortunately, and given the quiet nature of this neighborhood, motorized vehicles other than cars (eg, motorcycles, trailers, boats, 3/4-wheelers) are not permitted at this location.
