What makes this house unique

We love the rock fireplace - so cozy! We love to sit on the decks and gaze at the lovely mountain views. We enjoy the relaxing quiet of the forest and the fresh, clean air. There are many hiking areas - all of which are beautiful. You can swim, go boating, fishing, ice skating, go out to eat, see new movies, attend church, enjoy parades, and much more. One of the foremost American photographers, Timothy Wolcott, has a gallery here, too!

This house is on a flat section of a quiet, residential street with a slopped street directly across, Mahandy Lane. We are a short walk to Mallard Bay, just a few houses north of Big Bear Boulevard, and a few streets west of the entrance of the Village. There are many pine trees all around and views of the mountains. The Village Pizza, at the corner of Big Bear Blvd. and Village Drive, is the best anywhere! Next to it is the cozy Coffee and Tea Exchange, both with wifi. Just east of these is the Ooh La La gourmet French Restaurant where the quality and quantity of food and the friendly service are surprisingly affordable. There are activities for all ages; singles and families. Just east are toboggan slopes. Down the street is the Lakeside Market, an antique shop, of which there are many in town, the Big Bear Brewery and the Aztec Grill, and Sugar Pine Bakery.

Cabin was clean, everything worked as expected. Really nice place.

  • 5 of 5

Kristen and his husband were great hosts and showed real concern over our experience with the cabin. It had everything that we could need for the weekend, from kitchen appliances to more blankets than we could ask for. We had no issues at all, everything was working as expected. Wonderful weekend!

Very clean and cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time staying there and I would definitely stay there again. The owners of the property were very nice and welcoming. The cabin was very nice with a beautiful fireplace. Not that you would need the fire place cause the heater works well. The neighbors were very nice as well. Definitely will stay there again

Very convenient location, very comportable house.

  • 3 of 5

The house layout and size exceeded our expectations. The location is convenient to the Alpine Slide, Big Bear Lake Blvd and all the main attractions. There were a series of issues/surprises that became somewhat of a distraction: The washer failed to feed cold water, which became a problem for shrinkable clothing. The dryer provided no, or mild, heat to the point that washed garments would not dry. This problem was not resolved by an attempted ducting adjustment. The in-house signage was incorrect/outdated - there was no wood available in the house, although the signs stated a process to get wood. The signage was "authored" by "Jason", but Jason was no longer involved with this property. Most disturbing was that check-in "during ski season" was 4PM versus 3PM and check-out "during ski season" was 10AM versus 11AM - these hours need to be called out in the online reservation process and the in-house signage. We received very prompt messages regarding the reservation and check-in, but they seemed to be auto-signed by "Jason" (including Jason's phone number), he was very surprised when we called his number. When we had some questions during/ending our stay, we received too much texting versus a much-needed phone call. The text messages did not end with someone's name. Having said all of the above, the house more than met our needs, the kids loved it, the location is great and it would be "5-Stars" from us if these several issues were resolved. If the above problems were resolved, we would be thrilled to return to this property.

Nice Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Overall we Pine Nest is a nice cabin to rent. It was very clean, and well stocked with linens, towel and kitchen equipment. The owner was easy to deal with, and the location is great. The only problem we had was that the garbage disposal was broken when we arrived. I would recommend staying there!

  • 5 of 5

Overall an awesome experience! The home contained all the amenities mentioned on the add. It was a perfect fit for all 8 of us that stayed there. It is very neat and cozy just perfect for the winter season. Definitely a place to stay at if you want a memorable trip to Big Bear Lake. Management was great, friendly and helpful.
