Beautiful fully furnished 2 bedroom / 2 bath apartment in the Marina district of San Francisco, with one garage parking space in the building. Easy walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants on both Chestnut Street (3 blocks away) and Union Street (also 3 blocks away). Also walk to Fort Mason, Marina Green, Chrissy Field, Fisherman's Wharf, and Polk Street.

Our full floor 1,200 square foot modern flat is recently updated throughout and includes 2 bedrooms - the master with a queen bed and the guest room with a full size futon and/or a single mattress (you let us know which beds you want), 2 full bathrooms (one with tub), bamboo floors, new double-paned windows, and an open floor plan with expansive views of Moscone Park across the street. The kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, plenty of spices, olive oil, etc. And the dining table seats six comfortably. The unit is bright and sunny with central heat, wireless internet access, washer/dryer in garage, and a landscaped back patio with gas grill. One parking spot in the garage is included.

The apartment is conveniently located three blocks from shops, cafes, restaurants and wine bars on Chestnut and Union Streets. The bay, Fort Mason, and Marina Green is also a short walk away, as is our local Safeway grocery store. You can also walk to Fisherman's Wharf and we are about 2 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. Access to public transit is 1/2 block away. The 30x bus will take you downtown in 15 minutes on weekdays, and the 30 bus will take you through the Marina to Ghirardelli Square (or you can walk), North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square and Market Street. This is a great location for easy access to the best sights in San Francisco amidst a wonderful neighborhood full of parks and fun shops.

Our neighbor lives upstairs in an identical flat (it's a 2-unit building) and is sometimes available to coordinate arrival and help should any issues come up during your stay. Please note the minimum stay requirement and check the calendar as our apartment is often booked. There's a 50' plasma TV with HD channels via the antenna (FOX, CBS, ABC, PBS, but no NBC) and a DVD player for watching movies. The TV is also equipped with a Chromecast to stream content from your phone or computer. High speed reliable wi-fi internet is available throughout the flat. There's also a small home gym in the garage, which you are free to use. Hairdryer, soaps, shampoo, and conditioners are all included as well.

Did we mention that the location is incredible? You literally can walk to a huge number of shops, restaurants, bars, and famous San Francisco sights. And if you're exploring further afield, there's always a parking spot waiting for you in the garage.

Finally, a few quick notes regarding cleaning, taxes, and local short term rental laws:

• We charge a one-time $75 cleaning and linens fee regardless of the length of your stay. This lets us recover about 50% of the actual expenses incurred to prep our home for your use. We hope you'll agree this is a very reasonable amount!

• We also collect a 14% occupancy tax on behalf of the City of San Francisco. Some hosts on VRBO don't collect this tax and they are breaking the law by failing to do so. Either way, we set our base nightly rate so that we compare favorably on an all-in basis.

• Our home is officially registered with the San Francisco Office of Short Term Rentals and is 100% legit. Many other SF listings are not playing by the rules.

Devin grew up in Southern California and Katherine is a Bay Area native. We met in business school at UC Berkeley and love living in San Francisco. Devin runs a product design studio and online retail business called Leafcutter Designs. Katherine is a health care consultant. We have two little kids. We try to take one big international family trip about once a year, with lots of shorter road trips thrown in along the way.

Why Devin Redmond chose San Francisco

We bought our apartment in 2006 because it's walking distance to so many coffee shops, restaurants, and parks. Head out the door and Chestnut Street, Union Street, Fisherman's Wharf and the Presidio are all just a short walk away. It's also a great starting point for day trips up to Marin County and wine country. We also knew we'd be able to start a family here and that the 2 bedroom / 2 bath set up would give us plenty of space for at least a few more years in the city.

What makes this condo unique

The views from the large windows on the front of the building are what originally sold us on our condo. You can sit on the long bench at the dining table and watch the weather roll in or keep an eye on the evening softball games across the street. The park really opens up the views and gives our home plenty of natural light.

Wonderful, walkable, comfortable home

We loved staying at this property. Everything was exactly as promised in the listing -- the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and stylish and the location was perfect, very walkable for restaurants, shopping, groceries, and even a beautiful park across the street, as well easy access to the bus line and the rest of SF public transportation. It was so convenient to have garage parking for our car, though we seldom drove anywhere because everything was already so easy to get to without driving. We had everything we needed, and the owner was readily available anyway to make sure that our stay was comfortable. We can't wait to stay here again and would eagerly recommend this listing to others without hesitation.

Wonderful stay

My husband, son and I stayed at Devin's condo over the New Year's holiday. The whole process, from booking to check out, was incredibly smooth and Devin was always incredibly responsive. Prior to the stay, Devin had forwarded a detailed instructions packet which was incredibly helpful. The condo itself is very nice, a tastefully appointed two bedroom two bath condo, in a wonderful neighborhood. For parents with an 8 year old, it was a much more relaxing stay than staying at a hotel. Most of the early mornings, we wandered to the nearby coffee shops for breakfast and there were afternoons at the park across the street with "touristy" type activities sandwiched between. The condo is located in a convenient location close to public transportation and close to many attractions. We had a car, that we were able to park in their garage, but honestly, we barely drove. We mostly walked or took public transport. Would highly recommend this rental property!

Excellent location, beautiful and relaxing space

The condo is even more beautiful that the pictures. Devin and Katherine's condo was the perfect place for our family of four to use as a base to explore the city. The condo was ultra clean and very well stocked. The neighborhood had everything we could have needed with a grocery store just two blocks away, and restaurants and shops just a short walk down Chestnut. The neighborhood was amazingly quiet for being in the heart of the city.

Devin communicated via email a few times before our arrival and sent detailed instructions on how to access the garage and the condo. It was great having access without having to bother Devin as our flight was delayed by several hours. Inside there was a basket of San Francisco guidebooks, a folder with pamphlets and menus to neighborhood establishments, and a bottle of wine to help take away the pain of having the airline hold us over for several hours and then run out of food.

We enjoyed our visit to San Francisco and enjoyed the warmth and comfort of this condo even more. I would stay here again if I come back to San Francisco - and I hope to.

Wonderful flat in prime location!

Perfect!! We just returned from a week at this lovely Chestnut Street flat and we could not have been happier with our stay. The flat itself is clean and spacious and provides everything you need. The location is amazing! The neighborhood itself is charming with cafes, bookstores, restaurants, and shops only a few blocks away. There is a park right across the street with greenspace, tennis courts, baseball field and basketball courts. We did have a car but were able to walk to Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Palace of Fine Arts, Lombard Street, Union Square and much more! I recommend walking to Union Square and taking the historic trolley down to Ghirardelli Square. The views are amazing!

The two bedroom two bath flat was perfect for two adults and two teenagers but it would also be great for families with younger kids. The full kitchen is nice, as we were able to buy and cook our own food when we didn't want to eat out (you can also walk to the Safeway grocery store). Two large windows from the kitchen and living room look out over the park. If you don't have a car it would be very easy to take public transportation.The owners are kind and easy to work with. You will have an upstairs neighbor but it was not noisy.

Highly recommend this flat if you are visiting San Francisco and want to see all the sights and have a quiet, safe place to relax in the evening. You will not be disappointed!

Ideal location. Beautiful apartment.

We were delighted with our stay at this immaculate, Euro-style apartment. There was ample room for 2 adults and our 2 teenage daughters.

The neighborhood is perfectly situated close to the bay, within short walking distance of amazing restaurants and near the two primary bus routes any visitor would need while in San Francisco. The apartment overlooks a park which gives an open feeling to the neighborhood. We have stayed in many VRBO properties in the US and Europe and this was one of our favorite stays. The owner was very easy to work with as well. Highly recommend.

Amazing apartment in awesome location!

My husband and I and our young boys stayed in this apartment and couldn't have been happier. We walked everywhere and found getting around super easy. The apartment had everything we needed and more and Devon was available at all times if we had any questions. We would highly recommend this beautiful apartment to anyone visiting San Francisco!
