Beautiful fully furnished 2 bedroom / 2 bath apartment in the Marina district of San Francisco, with one garage parking space in the building. Easy walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants on both Chestnut Street (3 blocks away) and Union Street (also 3 blocks away). Also walk to Fort Mason, Marina Green, Chrissy Field, Fisherman's Wharf, and Polk Street.
Our full floor 1,200 square foot modern flat is recently updated throughout and includes 2 bedrooms - the master with a queen bed and the guest room with a full size futon and/or a single mattress (you let us know which beds you want), 2 full bathrooms (one with tub), bamboo floors, new double-paned windows, and an open floor plan with expansive views of Moscone Park across the street. The kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, plenty of spices, olive oil, etc. And the dining table seats six comfortably. The unit is bright and sunny with central heat, wireless internet access, washer/dryer in garage, and a landscaped back patio with gas grill. One parking spot in the garage is included.
The apartment is conveniently located three blocks from shops, cafes, restaurants and wine bars on Chestnut and Union Streets. The bay, Fort Mason, and Marina Green is also a short walk away, as is our local Safeway grocery store. You can also walk to Fisherman's Wharf and we are about 2 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. Access to public transit is 1/2 block away. The 30x bus will take you downtown in 15 minutes on weekdays, and the 30 bus will take you through the Marina to Ghirardelli Square (or you can walk), North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square and Market Street. This is a great location for easy access to the best sights in San Francisco amidst a wonderful neighborhood full of parks and fun shops.
Our neighbor lives upstairs in an identical flat (it's a 2-unit building) and is sometimes available to coordinate arrival and help should any issues come up during your stay. Please note the minimum stay requirement and check the calendar as our apartment is often booked. There's a 50' plasma TV with HD channels via the antenna (FOX, CBS, ABC, PBS, but no NBC) and a DVD player for watching movies. The TV is also equipped with a Chromecast to stream content from your phone or computer. High speed reliable wi-fi internet is available throughout the flat. There's also a small home gym in the garage, which you are free to use. Hairdryer, soaps, shampoo, and conditioners are all included as well.
Did we mention that the location is incredible? You literally can walk to a huge number of shops, restaurants, bars, and famous San Francisco sights. And if you're exploring further afield, there's always a parking spot waiting for you in the garage.
Finally, a few quick notes regarding cleaning, taxes, and local short term rental laws:
• We charge a one-time $75 cleaning and linens fee regardless of the length of your stay. This lets us recover about 50% of the actual expenses incurred to prep our home for your use. We hope you'll agree this is a very reasonable amount!
• We also collect a 14% occupancy tax on behalf of the City of San Francisco. Some hosts on VRBO don't collect this tax and they are breaking the law by failing to do so. Either way, we set our base nightly rate so that we compare favorably on an all-in basis.
• Our home is officially registered with the San Francisco Office of Short Term Rentals and is 100% legit. Many other SF listings are not playing by the rules.

About the owner: Devin grew up in Southern California and Katherine is a Bay Area native. We met in business school at UC Berkeley and love living in San Francisco. Devin runs a product design studio and online retail business called Leafcutter Designs. Katherine is a health care consultant. We have two little kids. We try to take one big international family trip about once a year, with lots of shorter road trips thrown in along the way.
Why the Owner Chose Marina District, San Francisco, CA, USA:
We bought our apartment in 2006 because it's walking distance to so many coffee shops, restaurants, and parks. Head out the door and Chestnut Street, Union Street, Fisherman's Wharf and the Presidio are all just a short walk away. It's also a great starting point for day trips up to Marin County and wine country. We also knew we'd be able to start a family here and that the 2 bedroom / 2 bath set up would give us plenty of space for at least a few more years in the city.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The views from the large windows on the front of the building are what originally sold us on our condo. You can sit on the long bench at the dining table and watch the weather roll in or keep an eye on the evening softball games across the street. The park really opens up the views and gives our home plenty of natural light.
