About Angel Mullens

I'm originally from South Africa and England. I've lived in the States for over three decades, two of those in Washington State. In my former life I was a model and then a photographer. I love the tranquility of Index and have called it home for over 15 years.

Angel Mullens purchased this apartment in 2000

Why Angel Mullens chose Index

I fell in love with Index when my husband and I used to come up for weekends at the old Bush House Hotel. It has the feel of being lost in time. And the surrounding mountains feel like you're in the Swiss Alps.

What makes this apartment unique

I built the home in 2000 on a beautiful spot on the side of the mountain, right under the famous Index Wall. I have spent years perfecting my gardens and giving the place an old world feel.

Perfect Getaway Spot

  • 5 of 5

The Rosehill Manor was an absolute delight to stay at. This was the perfect spot for getting away from the world for an extended weekend and just enjoying the company of my wife. Angel was such a sweet and accommodating host. Upon her recommendation we took a day trip to Leavenworth and it was one of the many highlights of our trip. If you're looking for a beautiful spot to get lost in for a few hours or few days then I would highly suggest a stay at the Rosehill Manor. I know we'll be back when our schedules allow it.

We'd go back.

  • 4 of 5

Plenty of room for two people for a lengthy stay. Air conditioning that works very well, which we needed on some really hot days. Well furnished/equipped. Everything works. Easy to get to. Comfortable master bed. Angel is very helpful if any issues/questions. Adequate room for four for a few days without feeling over-crowded.

A couple notes. The interior decorating style is something some may love, others not so much. We tended toward the latter. However, not a big deal and a matter of preference. There is a nearby train track that is well-utilized by freight trains, perhaps once an hour, including night time. If you're a lighter sleeper, that may be an issue. The trains did not keep us awake at night and we did not find them annoying.

We would stay there again. Thanks, Angel, for making us welcome and comfortable!

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay!!! Quote from repeat guests E and H "We've made a game of stopping whatever we are doing and kissing every time we hear a train go by. Who knew trains could be so romantic!" Kind Regards, Angel.

A unique break from the norm, right between Seattle and Stevens Pass

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay! The surroundings are truly lovely, the mountain peaks out the window are beautiful to watch the morning light creep over. The property is very warm, intimate and inviting. The photos in the listing are accurate, and the place is even better than what you expect looking at the photos. There is so much character and thought in the decor that it makes it fun to be there. The overall mood is rustic and countryside. Lots of little helpful amenities too (coffee, filters, soap, bathrobes for the hot tub...). Angel gives a very warm welcome and gets you set up and ready to wind down in no time. It was the perfect weekend getaway. We had a lovely time exploring Leavenworth and Stevens Pass Nordic area (and even a little walk along the river through Index). It was also very convenient to Seattle (aside from the horrible traffic getting there!). We were very satisfied with our visit.
