About Angel Mullens

I'm originally from South Africa and England. I've lived in the States for over three decades, two of those in Washington State. In my former life I was a model and then a photographer. I love the tranquility of Index and have called it home for over 15 years.

Angel Mullens purchased this apartment in 2000

Why Angel Mullens chose Puget Sound North

I fell in love with Index when my husband and I used to come up for weekends at the old Bush House Hotel. It has the feel of being lost in time. And the surrounding mountains feel like you're in the Swiss Alps.

What makes this apartment unique

I built the home in 2000 on a beautiful spot on the side of the mountain, right under the famous Index Wall. I have spent years perfecting my gardens and giving the place an old world feel.

A unique break from the norm, right between Seattle and Stevens Pass

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay! The surroundings are truly lovely, the mountain peaks out the window are beautiful to watch the morning light creep over. The property is very warm, intimate and inviting. The photos in the listing are accurate, and the place is even better than what you expect looking at the photos. There is so much character and thought in the decor that it makes it fun to be there. The overall mood is rustic and countryside. Lots of little helpful amenities too (coffee, filters, soap, bathrobes for the hot tub...). Angel gives a very warm welcome and gets you set up and ready to wind down in no time. It was the perfect weekend getaway. We had a lovely time exploring Leavenworth and Stevens Pass Nordic area (and even a little walk along the river through Index). It was also very convenient to Seattle (aside from the horrible traffic getting there!). We were very satisfied with our visit.

Beautiful property, gracious hostess

  • 5 of 5

This impeccably-appointed flat and its lovely proprietress surrounded us in old world charm. While the purpose of our visit was to take advantage of the proximity to Stevens Pass, our accommodations ended up being the best part of the trip (and that included two bluebird days on the slopes). We were charmed from beginning to end, and we couldn't recommend this property more highly.

Perfect stay for a quiet weekend. Charming house and lovely landlords.

  • 5 of 5

We loved to stay at Rosehill Manor. The house was beautifully decorated. It was also well equipped. In short, we felt quite confortable there.

It's close to Steven's Pass, so it's a great "base camp" for hiking. The hot tub is definitely a plus, specially after a hiking day.

We will highly recommend this house to our friends.

Perfect for a quiet weekend away

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for a beautiful, relaxing, romantic weekend stay, Angel. Everything from the romantic decor to the private gardens created a perfect anniversary oasis. We also loved driving through the mountains and being able to come back "home" to unwind. Angel is also amazingly nice, accommodating, and just all around a lovely person. Highly, highly recommend.

Pure Magic

  • 5 of 5

The moment I saw the photographs of the garden cottage, I knew I wanted to stay there. Although this adorable cottage immediately brought to mind Hansel & Gretel, the garden is Frances Hodgson Burnett’s Secret Garden come to life. Sitting under an arbor, listening to the fresh mountain breeze whispering through pines, or strolling the garden to take in an infinite variety of roses amid statuary tucked into nooks and crannies, was so peaceful and healing, the garden indeed worked it’s magic. I can’t recall ever feeling quite so relaxed and contented. If it were possible to drive from Seattle to Provençe in a little over an hour, you would feel that is where you had arrived. What Angel has created is not only beautiful and charming, it is another world to which I hope to return again and again.
