About Let's Play Chalet

Family Time Vacation Rentals specializes in managing privately owned cabins-homes, lodges and condos. We are hands on and live where are properties are located. My wife and I started our business in 2008 after deciding we wanted to give our children the simpler life of living in the country.

Our business is built on the concept of providing comfortable lodging to families and individuals who want to feel the comforts of home while away on vacation. With over seven years of experience in the nightly rental business, we consistently work to provide top quality properties at affordable rates. A large percentage of our guests who visit the area and stay with us become repeat customers because they had a great time and have said the accommodations and beautiful landscape of where their vacation home was located were exceptional.

Wonderful Property

  • 5 of 5

We spent the Christmas weekend at Brianhead. This home was a perfect layout for our family. It was very clean & well maintained. We received prompt responses to all of our emails requesting information. The queen beds were all very comfortable. The only draw back to our stay was that my boys did say that the mattresses on the bunk beds were very uncomfortable. We would love to revisit this property in the future.

Issues during holiday stay

  • 3 of 5

We stayed for 4 nights with 3 families and a total of 13 people. This home is best suited for 11 people as the full size bed in the loft is not big enough for 2 people. We arrived to the property at 4:15 and it had not yet been cleaned. About 45 min after arrival two people showed up to clean. As you can imagine, not an easy task after we had unloaded all of our belongings. The excuse was that "this is a very busy time for us and someone called out sick." You'd think the managers would have all hands on deck during this time. The place got barely cleaned with many things left undone - no vacuuming, counters & sinks not fully wiped down, microwave not cleaned. Furthermore, one of the water heaters was out so we ran out of hot water, the ice maker didn't work, and the hot tub had a leak leaving us to manually fill it per the managements instructions. 2 out of the 3 queen beds were very uncomfortable and sagged in the middle. The bedding did not feel clean and the sheets were sand paper like. All of the floors creaked badly so those sleeping up and down could hear every movement. Also, the basement where the kids slept got very cold as the 3rd level got very hot - this made sleeping temperature difficult on those in the basement & 3rd floor. The very large Christmas tree was at first a nice touch but took up so much room it obstructed the pretty view and made using the dining table difficult. The soap in the bathrooms was suboptimal so bring your own bar soap. The bath mats all desperately needed a washing and the single shower liners were weak. The carpets were old & worn in certain areas and could stand a shampoo or replacement. On a positive note, the kitchen was well stocked (although there were no wine glasses which was a huge disappointment to us wine lovers). The kids loved having their own space downstairs and the sleds were fun for them. It was nice to have a washer and dryer to wash the bath mats. I'm surprised to see 5 star reviews as even if we didn't have issues, the quality and details of this home is anything but 5 stars.

Great stay in Brian Head

  • 5 of 5

This is the third year we have rented a family cabin. We were delighted with this cabin and location. The view was wonderful - - on the edge of the woods. It was quiet and well stocked. We had 14 people staying and there was plenty of room. It is close to Panguitch Lake, we had a kayak and there was good rock throwing for the little kiddos.

Loved the stay

  • 5 of 5

Loved the house. It was setup with the basic requirements. Lisa the landlady helped us with our concerns. Loved it and would recommend it to anybody.

PS: The morning view of the hills from the apartment is literally breathtaking.

Solid Experience

  • 4 of 5

Public areas, kitchen, balcony, and location are fantastic. Bedding needs some work. Mattress was hard as a rock. Pillows were worthless and sheets and blankets did not feel clean. Bathroom towels were mediocre at best.
