About Jerry

Texan born and bred, retired Navy officer wanted a place to escape the hot Texas summers that offered snow skiing as well as water sports.

Jerry purchased this condo in 2013

Why Jerry chose Stateline

Tahoe just has everything and this property provides both that cabin vibe as well as all the modern amenities. Deciding between Lake or Mountain was the hardest part, so this condo provides the best of both worlds. Anytime is vacation time at Lake Tahoe!

What makes this condo unique

We looked at so many cabins and condos before buying this unit. It ticked all of our boxes - Lake View, Carson Valley View, front and back decks for enjoying coffee in the morning, proximity to restaurants and entertainment, themed décor and unlike most of the other properties on the mountain - NO STAIRS!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This booking was exceptional, from the minute we made the booking till we checked out. Everything simply "worked", the accommodation was amazing, the host's were amazing, the location and quantity of snow was out of this world. We are already planning our return. Jerry and Rhonda are simply the best! and we can not thank them enough for sharing their wonderful condo with us, and giving us a truly memorable experience.

Had an AMAZING experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a very good stay here. The kitchen area was spacious and stocked with high quality appliances, pots, pans, utensils, etc. and a large size grill! There was a nice living area with comfortable couches, a coffee table, and a fireplace, and the decorations were also very fitting. Our families had no complaints about the beds, as they were very comfortable--even the futon was comfortable to sleep in. The view of Lake Tahoe from the porch was perfect, and after a long day of hiking, it was nice to relax and look at the view. Bathrooms were very clean, the shampoos/soaps provided were quite nice, and there was hot water in the showers immediately - no waiting was necessary. Closets were spacious as well, and TV worked fine. We were very happy with our stay, and it definitely deserves five out of five stars!! We will DEFINITELY be coming back.

The Lake Tahoe July weather was perfect for us. It was between 80 and 90 degrees during the day, and at evening it was around 70th, windows are screened so you can open them and let cool air breath through, it was very relaxing sitting around the dinning table to feel the fresh and cool lake air!

They are so many things you can do, we highly recommend these places, included GPS coordinator for your convenience:

1. Valhalla Tahoe(Lake Tahoe Art, Music and Theatre) - 38.938111, -120.042611

Cozy and Welcoming!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Jerry and Rhonda's condo. It was cozy and welcoming and had everything we needed to make it a home away from home. Jerry is very nice! He was responsive to any question I had. I would definitely stay there again! Thanks Jerry and Rhonda!

Clean as can be

  • 4 of 5

Jerry was great-responsive and accommodating. The place was clean, the appliances were awesome! Makes me wish I owned the toaster, washer and vacuum. Beds were comfy. Really nice place. The only downside was not getting good sleep due construction related noises.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. I fully understand the construction noises next door was a nuisance. The next door renovations should be complete by the end of June. I do apologize for the noises going past 6 PM. The neighbors were aware of quite hours. On the bright side the neighbors did bring you bagels and muffins as a jesture of apology. They to apologize for the late night noises. All in all I hope you did enjoy your stay. The next time you head up to S. Lake Tahoe, it should be quite and serene.

What was great about our stay here:

1. The owner provided conscientious feedback about hiccups in our stay (nearby construction, issues that might arise and how to resolve) and maintained a well appointed, very clean and orderly unit that had THE MOST COMFORTABLE luxurious bedding anyone could ask for). The care of the interior was superb. The efforts at communication were high quality.

2. The items that took away from our stay, had to do somewhat with unanticipated cold temps, that couldn't be helped with any additional planning. The pool and Jacuzzi looked inviting but we found the heated pool/Jacuzzi to be quite cold. Perhaps it was early in the season and not fully online? The neighbors were undergoing a thorough and complete renovation of the interior of their home. This wasn't something that the owner of our rental unit was made aware of more than a few days ahead of our stay. He did inform us of this fact, and after we had signed the contract to stay at this location, he also informed us of a huge, seemingly temporarily abandoned parking garage type structure that was in place mere feet from our unit (an eye soar to be sure, and something that was beyond the control of our rental owner), but still competed with the advertised views off the condo, which included a debris field of construction case offs on the ground outside our balcony unit. The construction chain link fencing to our right view off the balcony (again, while not within the control of our gracious host) was still a disappointment for advertised condo views. We had envisioned a more rustic landscape unimpeded by construction elements. The renters staying above us were extremely noisy until well past quiet hours, moving furniture, and launching a drone miniature plane off the 3rd story balcony, crashing it into the building next store. Again, these are factors beyond the scope of our rental's owner, and we do not wish to attribute these frustrations to all the good work they have done to make their unit appealing and welcoming, but it did influence our stay in this area at this time.

There seems to be an unspoken understanding among natives of this area, that these inconveniences are part of the adventure of traveling in this way. Perhaps so, but we would have preferred to have a quieter location to better meet the needs of our group of travelers at this time.

It's the perfect location for the adventurer, avid skier or winter sport enthusiast seeking adventure!
