Guestbook comments from the owner

We've had a wonderful Maine experience and hate to leave! You're recommendations were all good - Ruth & Wimpy's was great! Acadia, Bar Harbor, loon and hummingbird sightings, lobster & blueberry overload . . . ahhh! The home was fabulous - all the amenities expected and then some. I particularly love the chairs by the windows! What a wonderful setting for an extended family vacation. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

Charming Home By Beautiful Frenchman's Bay

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, well-appointed home! Very comfortable beds, stocked kitchen, and breathtaking views over the bay. There was plenty of room for our group of 11 people and the perfect venue for our family vacation. Paul and Barry thought of everything you could possibly need to enjoy a week in Maine and they are a fantastic resource to help with the local area. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!

Perfect! Relaxing and Quiet! Convenient to Bar Harbor but perfect to stay local too!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at Gull Cottage. We had two families- 5 kids and 4 adults. The house had plenty of privacy to accommodate us all. It was very clean and had everything we needed.

We brought our bikes and enjoyed riding down to Marlborough Beach for rock skipping and kayaking. We used the kayaks provided at the cottage (the hosts were wonderful giving us a walk thru of the kayaks and safety recommendations for the Bay). The small beach in front of the house was fun for crab catching and star gazing. We also enjoyed the local pond for warmer swimming options (3miles away).

Bar Harbor was a pleasant 30 minute ride away. We enjoyed many of the hikes in the park and the great restaurants and ice cream spots downtown.

The week went fast, leaving us all wishing to stay a little longer. It was the perfect vacation, enjoyed by all!!

Beautiful home with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

Paula and Barry, were very gracious hosts. They answered any questions we had about the home and the surrounding areas including the best places to eat. (you have to try the goat farm down the road from the house they have amazing brick pizza's) Paula's recommendation along with a lobster pound called Ruth and Wimpy's both amazing local places.

The home is well stocked and maintained, there is definite pride of ownership. The deck on the front of the house overlooking the water is great place to have your breakfast or dinner or an evening beverage.

The house had games, a ping pong table in the basement along with a great selection of books to allow people to relax and unwind.

It was hard to leave as our week came to an end...... I would definitely go back for another stay.

Great Rental

  • 5 of 5

Gull Cottage was great for my family vacation. We had 5 adults and 2 teenagers. There was plenty of space for all of us. Everything is in good condition. The front porch is perfect for looking out at the water. About 45 minutes from Bar Harbor or Acadia. So, a bit of a drive, but a scenic one that never felt arduous.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay and the view from the deck at Gull Cottage. It's regrettable that the construction on Route 3 in Bar Harbor this Summer caused longer than usual driving times to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Thanks for taking such good care of our home and we hope you will visit again.

The Gull Cottage was the perfect place for our family vacation and reunion.

  • 5 of 5

This home was a perfect site for us to gather our scattered family (kids, spouses and 2 grandchildren). The kitchen was equipped for us to cook everything that we desired. Sometimes we ate meals inside and sometimes on the deck.

The home is close to the ocean and we took the kayaks out in the bay several times (always early in the morning before the breezes started up).

The views from the house and the deck are great. One evening, we sat on the deck late into the evening watching the stars and the Milky Way.

The owners are very gracious and answered our questions promptly. The house has a book with brochures from many of the activities and the businesses in the area.

We made several trips into Acadia National Park and also drove to Campobello Island (the Roosevelt summer home) just across the border into Nova Scotia.

All in all, this was a great fit for our family. We had a great time.
