If you are looking to rent in Seward and you are looking at this house then you should ask yourself these questions:
Do I want to see sea otters and sea lions?Do I want to see bears?Do I love humpback whales and orcas?
Can I see mountains that shoot up 5,000 feet right out of the ocean? Can I hike by a glacier and ice-climb it if I want to?Is there a different amazing hike for everyday of the week? Can I do all this and more while coming back to a clean comfortable house at the foot of Bear Mountain and just over a block from everything downtown Seward? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then the Anchor House is the place for you! Come join us and relax in one of the most scenic places in the world!
We are both teachers here in Seward and bought this house to share with others the beauty and comfort that Seward has to offer. We moved to Alaska to work for 3 months and 6 years later we are still here! We feel extremely lucky to have found work in Seward because is the most amazing place we have visited in this incredible state. The remoteness of Seward, its beauty and its amazing wildlife keep us astounded daily. We hope that you get the same feeling that we do while you are here on your visit. We are extremely happy to have you stay with us for your adventure and would love to turn you on to anything that the area has to offer.
Al Plan purchased this house in 2013
Very nice, well kept house. All the accessories to really cook in the kitchen and relax in the rest of the house. Al is a great guy and very accommodating. Second time we have rented in two years and just as good as the first time. We will be back!
Unit was spacious, clean, and in a great location.
We had an amazing time in Seward. It was much like being at Lake Como, Italy! Breathtaking views, gorgeous water, mountains so huge & lots of fun stuff to do & good restaurants. The home is beautifully kept w/ everything you need for a nice vacation. I would go back there again for sure!
Six of us ages 13 - 79 stayed for three nights. The house is roomier and lighter than I expected , with great views from the open living room , especially considering that it's right in town, and you can walk everywhere . My wife and I stayed in the largest upstairs bedroom, and we had to walk through my daughter's room to go downstairs or to the bathroom. Worked for us, but just so you know .
If you're planning a boat tour, we had two great trips on Major Marine.
It is a great house for a family reunion or a get together with numerous families. Large enough for all of our family from all over the country. Convient to stores, restaurants, and bars. We throughly enjoyed our stay in this great house!
We loved our stay! All three families who shared the house had children ages 3 or under, and the house was perfect for us. The rooms are private and seem pretty soundproof (important with lots of nap schedules!). The space is lovely and very comfortable but not covered in decor/nicknacks. Would recommend to friends.
