About Stacey Angell
We are a family who enjoys boating, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and pretty much anything that involves sports. We have found that getting away to the lake anytime can be rejuvenating.
Stacey Angell purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Stacey Angell chose Deerwood
We were looking for a place on a well known, clear, fishing lake with fun amenities for the family and we fell in love with this property.
What makes this Cabin unique
Everything you need for the week you can find in the cabin. Dishes, pots/pans, washer/dryer, towels, etc. The cabin is on the lake and the view is amazing. Don't be surprised if the eagle soars by you while sitting on the dock and enjoying the view. The fire-pit is also near the lake, so you can enjoy talking around the fire and looking over the lake at the same time.

We love this cabin/house!!!
We have stayed here for 3 years now and our grandsons (3 and 6) refer to it as their cabin!
We hope to continue coming back! It is absolutely perfect for our family.
We had plenty of room for adult and teenage children. Nice lake to boat. Close to grocery store and great restaurant.
4th of July
This was the second time we spent the 4th of July at
Crosby. Its a fun place to spend the 4th. The parade, flotilla and fireworks on lake made the day fun. The house, however, is beginning to show disrepair. The deck was peeling so badly we couldn't be barefoot or the paint peelings would stick to our feet and drag in house. Our only other complaint was all the mounted animals on the walls. I disapprove of trophy hunting and some of them were scary looking. The kitchen/living area had 6-7 animals, and the lower level had 3-4, including a full standing black bear. We did have fun though and the house has lots of room for everyone.
Family Fun Time
What a great place for family fun time. We had 6 adults and 2 young teens. Lots of living space for everyone. Beds were comfortable, Kitchen well stocked and very clean, and best of all...the Internet was great. Every stool at the kitchen counter had a laptop plugged in. We were on the lake for the 4th of July celebration at Crosby. Joined the flotilla parade in the afternoon and stopped at the park for mini donuts. In the evening we sat out in our boat and watched the fireworks. Best seat in the town. Fishing was good for July, and we caught bass, crappies, sunfish and northerns. Crappies were biting right in front of cabin. The lake was crystal clear and we watched loons and bald eagles with their young. There was a nice fire ring with lawn chairs, which was perfect for smores and a few fireworks. Thanks for everything.
Great Family Time
We just returned from a week at this property. The space, cleanliness and furnishings exceeded our expectations. This was the first family vacation with adult married kids and a grandchild. It was important to us that everyone have their own space but that we also have ample space when we were all together. The house couldn't have been better for meeting those needs. It's a huge house! The kitchen is very well supplied with utensils and there's a Family Dollar and reasonably priced grocery store 2 miles away for anything you may need. They had a fishing boat to rent that was perfect for the guys. It's not easy and it's expensive to get any other kind of boat over there to use, i.e., pontoon. Owner's might consider making that available at reasonable rate. My only suggestion regarding the comfort of the house would be fans in all the upstairs bedrooms. Thanks for making us feel so comfortable Stacy & Dan! (If you are coming from Omaha area, it's a pretty long trip - take the route that goes through St. Cloud. It is a couple hours shorter even though you travel several different highways - we had 3 vehicles and took 3 different routes and this was by far the shortest in time and miles.)
Spacious, clean and well stocked
We would/will definitely rent from Stacey and Dan again! This house has plenty of room with a floor plan that allows for privacy as well as open areas to gather. The beds and pillows are comfortable and covered with quality sheets and soft blankets. The kitchen has room for several cooks and those who just want to lean on the island to visit. There are plenty of dishes and pans along with most everything else we needed. The view of the lake, the dock, the fire pit, and the proximity to Crosby made this the perfect place for our family. Thank you Stacey and Dan for the home away from home.
We are so happy everything met your needs! It is a beautiful place and we enjoy sharing it with others so they can enjoy the great experiences and create memories that we are able to with our family and friends as well. Have a great summer!
There is a huge public beach with an awesome play area for the kids located only 2 miles in the town of Crosby. Have your picture taken by the iconic Serpent sculpture to remember your trip by. Grab a bite to eat in town at the Pizza place, Subway, hometown cafes, sports bars. Rent a redbox from the local gas stations. Grab groceries from the local supermarket only 1 mile away. Watch a movie at the theater in Aitkin. Play a round of golf at Rutgers located only a few miles away. Feeling lucky? Try your luck at Grand Casino located within half an hour from the cabin.
