Beautiful, well appointed home within walking distance to tasting rooms, restaurants and parks.
Beautiful mini-estate in the heart of the 'Valley of the Moon.' This luxurious 2,100+ sq.ft. home is in close proximity to world renowned wineries, vineyards, restaurants and state parks. Beautifully appointed with high end finishes throughout--Farmhouse 148 is the perfect Wine Country retreat!
Myself and my 3 best friends stayed in this lovely farmhouse this past weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday and it was nothing short of Perfection!!! I was SO picky while searching for the perfect place to spend our vacation and this home exceeded all of our expectations and then some!! We loved the welcome card and comlimentary bottles of wine in the fridge and We couldn't stop ooohing and ahhhing as we walked around the home and the grounds when we first arrived. Every inch is impeccable in quality and we felt just so lucky to have stayed there! We slept like royalty, loved cooking in the Chef's kitchen, relaxed in the lounge chairs and hot tub outside and had a ball playing all the fun indoor and outdoor games they provided! We especially appreciated all of the organized and clear instructions on how to operate every single electronic item in the house...they made it so easy for this non-tech gal to figure out surround sound, TV linking, wifi, etc. We used the bikes for a quick and fun ride over to Kunde winery (highly recommend!!) and just walked down the street to VJB winery, also a favorite for their patio lunch and overall atmosphere! Highly recommend their margharita pizza with either a bottle of their Barbera or Prosecco! Their gelato is amazing too!! If you're even Considering this house, I promise you will not regret it and staying there will no doubt be the highlight of your trip as it was ours!! Can't wait to go back someday and bring my husband!
A group of us 5 women decided to leave the men at home and head to wine country for New Years. You never know what you will actually get when renting a place just based on pics. The farmhouse exceeded my expectations and then some! Such fantastic living room and kitchen area for us to all hang out and chat. The house was unbelievably stocked with anything you may need from pots, pans, olive oils ... you name it. When we first got there, the cleaning service had forgotten to leave pillow cases for pull out bed. We emailed the management company and they sent someone out within an hour. My friends and I are already considering booking for next year. Thanks for having us! Highly recommend!!
This house is amazing. It is very obvious that every little detail has been thought through to make this the best VRBO experience out there. Yes, it has comfortable beds, spacious living spaces, beautiful decor, movies, games, a beautiful back yard and hot tub, but when I say EVERY LITTLE DETAIL has been thought through, this is what I mean...
When you confirm your booking, you receive a very detailed operating manual for the entire house. Want to hear music indoor and out? They cover that in great detail with labels and detailed instructions complete with visual examples. Want to heat the place up or cool it down? The same attention has been payed to that. Interested in watching TV or a movie? They have plenty of options there on site, as well as the ability to log into your favorite streaming platforms and choose what you want from there. If you want to listen in surround sound, you'll get pictures and detailed instructions on how to make that happen too. Want to know where different utensils are located in the kitchen? Labels, everywhere. It is like a technical writer went through and made sure that your 80 year old grandmother wouldn't be crippled by the high tech amenities, but would be able to enjoy them without several phone calls on how to make these things work. The kicker was when I was taking a late night dip in the hot tub, and as I got out and began walking the path back into the house, the solar lights automatically lit up in sequence as I advanced to the stairs. Are you kidding me?!? They really have thought of everything!
As I was preparing meals for my girlfriends, I took full advantage of the 6 range viking stove and oven. While keeping components of the meal warm on the warming shelf, I was able to produce a hot and delicious meal at the same time, while still being able to relax while doing so. After, we were able to enjoy gourmet brewed coffee and delicious teas.
We hiked, we went horseback riding, we wine tasted, we ate well, we were able to walk to wineries and award winning restaurants and after my friends left my husband brought our two littles up for one night and we also had a terrific time.
If you are looking for a wine country getaway IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER. I have post Farmhouse148 depression now as I return to real life... I can't wait to return.
Had a great trip staying at this wonderfully appointed home. 6 girls from across the nation came together and had fun. We loved walking to many of the winerys. I would recommend to anyone who likes a bit more space and quiet than hotels or bed and breakfast provides.
We truly enjoyed the Farmhouse in Kenwood. What a beautiful and well-maintained home and excellent location. We loved the fully stocked kitchen, stylish decor and comfortable furnishings as well as the nicely landscaped backyard. Best of all was the close proximity to wineries, restaurants and nature--we walked down to VJB Winery for lunch and tastings as well as dinner at Cafe Citti. Highly recommended!
I've had the fortunate opportunity to spend several nights here, most recently over NYE, and it is by far one of the most incredible vacation rentals I have ever experienced. The owners have surely spent a great deal of time taking special care in every detail that would make a renter welcome into their property.
The photos are very accurate...what you see is what you get...but in person is even better! The design and furnishings are impeccable, and you instantly feel welcome the minute you walk in the door. It is a wonderful place for gathering good friends with good food and drink. The open floor plan allows you to stay connected with everyone but also allows you to find special little nooks for reading, watching a DVD, enjoying a quiet moment outside in the well-manicured backyard, or a relaxing moment in the hot tub.
This sweet farmhouse is located just down the street from some delicious tasting rooms and restaurants (literally a 2 minute walk) as well as a close drive to some of the most popular wineries in the Kenwood area.
If you are a "foodie" and enjoy cooking, this kitchen will be right up your alley! The owners thought of every detail in what a rookie or experienced chef could hope for. Everything is well organized and a great place for hosting a lovely, sit down dinner party...or just casual happy hour.
Overall, if you are looking for a high end, yet comfortable and charming place to share with friends or family, look no further. I will definitely be coming back to enjoy a lovely weekend getaway...or more!
Kenwood is a wonderful town and we are fortunate to have a spectacular home that is only blocks away from tasting rooms, wineries, parks and restaurants.
You can spend a few days tasting great wines without ever needing to get in your car. Or, start the day at some of the other wineries a few miles away, then come home, park the car and walk to the local places.
Some local tasting rooms within walking distance are:
VJB – right down the street on Shaw. It has wonderful wine and prosecco plus a woodburing oven for pizza and sandwiches. It also has a deli and small market.
En Garde - B Wise - Ty Canton - Orpheus - Mayo - Paradise Ridge - Naked - Saint Anne’s Crossing and Muscardini are all within a short walking distance.
Within a short drive away you can be at Kunde, Deerfield, Ledson, St Francis, BR Cohn, Chateau St Jean, Kunde, Kaz, Loxton, Blackstone, Imagery and many more.
You can also walk to Café Citti for lunch or dinner. There are many other restaurants a short drive away in Glen Ellen (10 minutes), Sonoma (20 minutes) and Santa Rosa (20 minutes). Try the Glen Ellen Star, Fig Café or Yeti in Glen Ellen; all are excellent choices.
For convenience you can walk to the Kenwood grocery store, or a short drive away in Glen Ellen is a fabulous place; the Glen Ellen market. It has everything you need to create dinner or a gourmet picnic lunch.
Don’t forget to try the farm stand (in season) with delicious strawberries and homemade jam right on Sonoma Highway.
And lastly, we can’t forget the parks. Right down the street is Shaw Park. Other parks close by are Sonoma Valley Regional, Jack London State Park, Sugarloaf, Hood Mountain, Anadale and Spring Lake.
