About Lucia D'Arrigo

I am Lucia and my mother named the house after me. I am an architect and my husband Patrick is an engineer. I grew up in the village of Nozzano and studied architecture in Florence where I lived for some years. I love Tuscany because of the history, the nature and the food and I travelled around Europe I have been to the USA and Japan as a tourist. I studied English with a native speaker theacher and my brother Paolo lives in London since 1992 so I can sometimes do English practice with him.

Lucia D'Arrigo purchased this villa in 1978

Why Lucia D'Arrigo chose Lucca

My grandmother Anna more than 40 years ago took a walk with here husband on Nozzano's hills and fell in love with a field full of olive trees. They bought that land and the builted a very big house.

My mother Marta inherited the villa but decided to live in her husband's family house down in the village. More than 10 years ago she started renting the house to people from all over the world throught an agency and she had great satisfaction because guests love this place almost as Anna did.

I am Lucia and I do also love this place because it is so peaceful that really can rest your soul. So I decide to live in an indipendent part of the house that has its own entrance and garden so that we do not bother or even see the guests of the Villa. We would like to take care of the people who choose Villa Lucia for their holidays because we would like to make them discover the beauty of this places, the history of this lands and the food traditions that Lucca has.

My brother Paolo moved to London for work and now lives there with his swedish wife Catarina but they both dream about coming back here when they retired.

What makes this villa unique

I think that Villa Lucia is a unique place because was builted with the purpose of enjoying the countryside in which it stands. You'll love the amazing views, you'll fell the contact with nature and you'll enjoy the beauty of lands full of history.

You can ask also the owner for anything you need, or if you want to taste great Tuscan food, typical cheese and wine, homemade Limoncello, if you want to buy handmade ceramics, go on guided hiking, have yoga at the Villa ....and many many other things.

Perfect; beautiful view and a lot of space

  • 5 of 5

We were 10 persons (7 adults, 3 teenagers and a baby) and had a fantastic stay in Villa Lucia. This is a villa with a lot of space and the location is near to perfect.

We went to Lucca (very cosy city with shops), Pisa (a lot of tourists) and Firenze (beautiful and a lot of shopping) and the rest of the days we spent time in the villa and by the pool.

The house has no aircon and in warm nights the fans were very popular :-)

Lucia was a friendly host and made us a nice Tuscan dinner. If we needed directions, restaurants or other information about the area, we asked Lucia.

We would love to come back and we already recommend the villa to friends.

Entspannung pur

  • 4 of 5

Peaceful Retreat

  • 4 of 5

During our 2 week stay, our family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed the spacious rooms, the spectacular views from the terrace, the refreshing pool and the peace and quiet of the hills. The location was truly perfect for visiting some of Tuscany's main cities (Pisa, Florence, Siena) and all the wonderful little villages in between, yet being able to withdraw from the crowds and noise at the end of the day. A perfect combination for a wonderful vacation! Last but not least, the owners are very helpful and very friendly. They do live on site but they never interfered with our privacy. We would go back in a heartbeat!!

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Dear Lucia,

we had a wonderful time at your house. We were feeling very welcomed and it was fun for all us.

The fantastic and secluded location was the right spot to relax and to enjoy a little bit of the italian lifestyle. The view from the terrace is marvelous and we spent a lot of nights sitting on the terrace, having a good meal and wine.

The house is very spacious and well equipped. The pool area was the highlight for the kids; they had so much fun.

So thank you for a lovely stay in your home - hope to see you some time again.

Great place with a beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

Dear Lucia, we had a great time in your home. We felt very welcome and it was fun.

The house is beautifully located and you have a terrific view from the terrace over the tuscan landscape. The house is very spacious (we were 5 adults and three kids) and well equipped. While the kids had fun in the pool , we were hanging out on the terrace and enjoyed the food and the wine and had a great time.

Perfect!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We (family, 5 adults, 2 children) had a fantastic stay in Villa Lucia. We felt very welcome in this enormous villa. The owners, Lucia and Patric are very warm and friendly. We enjoyed the fantastic Tuscan dinner they (and the family) made for us, served on our terrace. What a luxury.

We made some trips to Lucca but most of the time we stayed at the villa because we had everything to enjoy ourselves. The swimming pool was a very nice place to be. The children loved it and so did we.

Everything we saw on the site was true or even better. We certainly should recommend the villa, in fact we did already.

It's almost to good to be true, but it is!!

Owner's Response: We were very happy to have guests like Els and her family and in particular her sweet nephews. They are smiling, polite and reliable people. We hope to have them again here. We are very happy to read that everything was as they expected to be because it is very important for us to give to guests exactly what they choose. We are also glad that Els and her family enjoyed what we cooked for them because is just what we would prepare for our friends and parents.
