Granite Island Kitchen opens to large living room with large pleather sectional with sleeper sofa & expandable dining room table. Kitchen has everything you need! Central air, dishwasher, microwave, Wifi, 2 flat screen TVs, Basic Cable and 2 DVD players. Cozy six unit corner building. Outdoor Grill. Convenient location, East of Federal Hwy, 15 minute walk to beach. Only 1 block to Publix supermarket, LA Fitness, yoga studio & 20 restaurants & bars. You can walk or bike everywhere! Coin operated washer and dryer on premises. Off-street parking. This quiet, well maintained, owner operated building has open and large units unlike any other vacation rental buildings. Two units have private beautiful tropical gardens & patios. Two bedroom units are on the second floor & have huge balconies with tables for 4 for outside dining. Studios & 1 bedroom units are also available & on the first floor. Some units have private tropical patios.
We were searching on the internet for a place to stay for a month, that would accept a small dog. Based on the pictures and the reviews we booked this place for the month of Feb 2016. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised and very happy with the unit. Conveniently located to many restaurants, shops and a 15 minute walk to the beach, if the inter-coastal bridge isn't up. Unit was exceptionally clean, modern and everything worked! You couldn't ask for a better owner. She was always asking if we needed anything, which we didn't, but it was nice to know that if we did, she was readily accessible and kept us informed on additional attractions in the area. On a few occasions we had friends over for a short visit, who were renting in the high rises on the beach, and they all remarked on very favorably on our unit. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at the condo last year. The unit was super clean and spacious with great proximity to the ocean, restaurants, and shopping. We plan on coming back here every year. The owner is extremely friendly and always accommodating. You will not find a better place for the price.
Enjoyed our Jan. 2016 stay so much we are renting again next year. The apt., its location, and working with the owner exceeded our expectations. In addition to the clean and modern living space, we really liked the nearby conveniences- grocery store and a large variety of shops within a couple of blocks or so, several neat restaurants with outdoor seating (to accommodate our dog) and the general ambience of a neighborhood populated with walkers, bikers, and joggers - all enjoying the S. FL lifestyle.
We have stayed in the same condo twice now and have enjoyed our time there. Very clean and a great location and spacious. Owner is very friendly and helpful. We are going for our third trip this spring.
We stayed at Ocean Reef all of last March and would have written this sooner but for a serious family illness. This apartment was modern, immaculate, well-equipped, and comfortably furnished. Best of all, the location couldn't be beat for those who prefer to walk or bike to the beach, shops, restaurants or the waterfront area known as "The Cove". The owners were hands-on and very accommodating. We would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a stress-free, lovely getaway.
This is my honest assessment of this property and I realize that I may be harming myself for future rentals here simply by creating a demand for this place.
Listing description is accurate except for how long it takes to walk to beach. There is no way owner can walk there in 5 mins 'cause I pedal very fast and it takes about 10-12 mins on bike ( which owner can provide for a fee). Going to beach by bike is faster and cheaper than by car. Sometimes there is so much traffic to get to beach that you are way better off by bike and don't have to find a parking spot at $2.00-$3.00 per hour.
Listing photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance. Property is very clean and well maintained and owners have done a good job of renting to nice people. I have been here a month and met some very nice and interesting people, PhD's in biochemistry, business owners, chemists, engineers....a very eclectic mix of society.
Owners very hands on and here often. Very helpful people.
I would not hesitate to recommend renting this rental to any friend, relative or myself again.
Location, location, location. Two shopping centers 5 mins away walking, beach I'd say 20-25 mins walk, close to 25-30 restaurants and 10-12 bars (less than 20 min walk).
Everything is so convenient here that you can arrive by plane, take public transpo to get here and once here and you can ride a bike or scooter or walk, everything is nearby.
Neighborhood can be a bit noisy as SE 12th ave is pretty busy. We have a great balcony and can watch the world go by while sipping wine at happy hour with sunset right in front of us. SURE BEATS THE COLD AND SNOW.
Constructive ideas: Having access to a BBQ on premises. Changing orientation of living room a bit to have a 6 seat dining table if feasible so renters with families can dine together if they wish, or you can entertain guests if you wish. Having 3 stools at kitchen counter not enough in some cases.
