*** Newly remodeled historic property in the heart of Laurel Park, SARASOTA'S ONLY TRUE WALK-TO-DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD ***
Three Palms Bungalow (named for the three 75 foot Washingtonia palms in front) is an immaculately restored and updated 1925 wood bungalow in Laurel Park, one of Sarasota's oldest, most charming, and best located residential neighborhoods.
Step out the front door and you can WALK...not drive...in less than 10 minutes to ALL of the following: Downtown Main Street, Sarasota Bayfront Park and Marina Jacks (with available kayak, paddleboat, aqua cycle, sailboat, powerboat, and waverunner rentals), Burns Court Historic District (only 1 block away), dozens of restaurants, the Saturday downtown farmer's market, shopping, art galleries, spas and salons, the symphony, the opera, the downtown public library, the 12 court Payne Park tennis center, two movie theaters, Selby Botanical Gardens, Towles Court art district, Whole Foods Market, Starbucks, and much more. A little farther away, but still reachable by bike or a 10 minute drive are the shops and restaurants of St. Armand's Circle (3 miles) and the white quartz sands and clear blue waters of Lido Beach (3.5 miles) and Siesta Key Beach (7 miles). ***Note that Siesta Key was voted the #1 beach in the entire USA in 2017. It is only a 10-15 minute drive away and the parking is free!
The house retains all of its 1925 charm, but with many of today's modern amenities. It is a 982 square foot two bedroom/one bath wood bungalow, with 15 foot vaulted ceiling in the large living room. The kitchen has brand new Caesarstone countertops, all new appliances, a two seat countertop breakfast bar, and round four seat dining table surrounded by large sun filled windows. The all new spa inspired bathroom features subway tiled floors and walls and an all glass walk-in shower. Both bedrooms have queen size beds with new plush mattresses, nightstands, and reading chairs. The master bedroom includes french doors that open up to the private fenced in back yard with new 350 square foot brick paver patio. Other amenities include large screen HDTV with DVR and DVD player, wireless high speed internet, full size washer and dryer, and gas grill.
7 night minimum.

About Lisa and J.D. Gordman
We are a couple who reside in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington DC.
Lisa and J.D. Gordman purchased this Bungalow in 2011
Why Lisa and J.D. Gordman chose Downtown
We chose our Sarasota,FL property for it's 'walkability' to everything: Within 5 -10 minutes you can walk to all of the Main Street shops and restaurants, the Farmer's Market, the Bay Front, Selby Gardens, the Theatre/Opera, and Historic Burns Square. The famous Siesta Key Beach is just a short 10 minute drive! Rated #1 BEACH in the United States! The sand is PURE white and the water is CRYSTAL CLEAR!
What makes this Bungalow unique

This cottage is perfection! They've thought of all the details which made our stay stress free and enjoyable. Impeccably clean and very charming. The location was convenient to all the downtown attractions: however, we never wanted to leave the back patio!
Third Time is the Charm (again, and predictably)
Over the last three years, my wife and I have stayed at Three Palms Bungalow three times, for two weeks each. The online photos show the charm that a photo can show, but I can tell you that the charm is more than skin deep. We continue to love just about everything: accurate information, good management of the property, all the equipment working, and walking access to more than we can do each visit. The location close to Main Street and closer to Burns Court and Towle Court is ideal.
You probably won’t believe how thoughtfully the bath and kitchen are set up until you actually arrive and start smiling. Good knives, for example. Herbs and olive oil, enough good coffee to get you going the first couple mornings; I could go on. Do open the port-hole-like bathroom cabinet and note all the considered little miniatures you might have forgotten. It’s just typical of the personal touches and care you will find here. The patio and like-new gas grill are a special lagniappe.
Although we have a car when we stay, it often sits idle several days at a time in the driveway. As the property description says, there are dozens of interesting places to visit within walking distance. The owners are helpful in listing suggestions for restaurants and attractions. Selby Garden is a very few blocks; Owen’s Fish Camp and Burns Court (art) Cinema is about two blocks. When the whim strikes you, check out Burn Court Café for music a couple nights each week -- or the back yard at Owen’s (somewhat avoiding the lines for the main dining area). But if you are planning to attend ticketed events, such as Florida Studio Theater, do your research and make those reservations months ahead.
I suppose we have become regulars at Three Palms Bungalow. We have experienced the charm, and the deeper magic that doesn’t show in the photos. We look forward to our next stay, and the one after that.
Thank you, Jonathan and Lisa, for such a wonderful experience at Three Palms.
I rented this lovely home for just after Christmas through the New Year. I am local, but my guest house is under remodel.
And, I wanted my out of town guest to have his own space, if need be. I have another local friend that is on strict dog duty with an elderly Pekingese who needs his medications regularly. So, we picked this house for proximity to our own homes, our responsibilities and downtown.
First, I would like to say that the photos do not do it justice. While my home was also built in 1924, whoever did your renovation deserves Five Stars. It is impeccable.
Future guests will love the covered front porch as this is a friendly neighborhood where people say hello as they walk by. It reminds me of years past. The backyard is very comfortable with an awesome grill.
And, much to our surprise, there was a trash fairy! While it was the holidays and trash pickup was questionable per the local news, the garbage and recycle was always at the street.
The beds and linens were reported to me as scrumptious. Fabulous shower. The kitchen was beyond belief with anything thing you could possibly need for cooking. I made osso bucco the first day and needed nothing, except, of course, for my own groceries. And I had Instacart deliver all we needed.
The surprise to me and my friend was the magnet on the refrigerator with the number to the iRide service to downtown. While Main Street is in walking distance, our out of town friend was suffering a terminal illness and a short walk was difficult. What a gift it was to be able to call a number, provided by the owners, and be able to take our friend to enjoy Sarasota's downtown and all its wonder!
The house is exquisite, comfortable, elegant and practical. How does anyone do that? Thank you again for such a wonderful holiday experience.
Small but perfectly formed!
This is just such a wonderful house; it's not huge but it has everything from ironing board through big fridge freezer to comfortable patio chairs. The beds are ace; I am a stickler for a comfy mattress and I slept brilliantly during my stay. The pictures of the house really don't do it justice; it is in no way cramped - the rooms are a good size and allow you enough space to be a bit private if that's what you are after with several seating areas inside and out. In addition it was spotlessly clean when we arrived and I hope we left it in the same state on our departure. In terms of location it is ideal for Sarasota; a short walk from the Marie Selby botanical gardens, in a quiet peaceful street and another short walk from good cafes and the town centre. We were there for a friend's wedding and had picked the house for its nearness to their apartment so were even more delighted that other facilities including the sea, were also nearby. Donna had flown in from Western Australia and was incredibly jet lagged, but recovered very quickly in this lovely location; I am from London and appreciate comfort and convenience, living in a central part of the city, so this was a perfect stay for us both.
Wonderful place at a great location!
We had a lovely stay at this Sarasota Fl, Downtown Bungalow. Close to everything great restaurants and mall and beautiful beaches.
Modern updates, old charm, all the amenities and great location!
We loved staying here for almost 3 weeks in July 2017! It's newly updated with all of the modern amenities and decor...but holds true to the character and charm of an old bungalow. We loved being a short walk to delicious restaurants in the city and minutes from the beaches. The owners were reachable and in touch the entire stay, and the home was fully stocked with everything we could have needed -- from beach towels and chairs to olive oil and laundry detergent. We will definitely stay here again when we're back in Sarasota!
Located in the Laurel Park neighborhood, within a 5 minute walk of Main Street/Downtown, the Sarasota Bayfront, restaurants, shopping, museums, theaters, galleries, spas, and more.
