I am a long-time resident of Tucson and lived in this home for over 18 years. I have other property in Tucson and have recently begun spending a lot of time in Montana. I am a very active hiker, backpacker and cyclist and can help you figure out which trails are perfect for you. I also love art, live music and dancing and can recommend great places to visit.
This comfortable haven is wonderfully located as a 'jumping off' place to explore Southern Arizona. Close to major arterials, you can be where you want to be in just a few beautiful minutes.
Sunrise Presidio Townhomes has long been a subdivision attractive to second home owners and winter visitors. It is friendly and established. The Craycroft Wash, right behind this townhome, is a beautiful and natural walkway for neighborhood residents and abounds in seasonal birds and other fauna.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Home is clean, updated and very comfortable. Location was perfect to downtown and Ventanna Canyon. Pool near and very clean. Walking paths abundant& beautiful. Would stay again if available when visiting Tucson!
I stayed Dec and January with beautiful desert views and an unending parade of varied wildlife in the wash below the patio. It's location provided a morning hike in the Catalinas and back in time for lunch at the nearby restaurants. All within 10 minutes. Mary Beth is a very considerate and helpful owner and does her best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Wonderful location with lots of great hikes nearby. Convenient to grocery stores , Starbucks & restaurants. Quiet neighborhood. Photos don't do the patio justice; very private, beautiful views, shade and sun (faces east so no hot late afternoon sun). Beth was warm, welcoming, and went out of her way to help us make the most of our stay. Comfy living space and master bed. 2nd bed not suitable for adults (futon). Kitchen and bathrooms have not been updated but were clean and adequate.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at this lovely townhouse. We had everything we needed and spent every possible sunny moment out on the great patio. We were very comfortable here and quickly felt at home. We loved the convenience of wonderful restaurants, hikes, and shopping. We wish we could have booked it again for next February but were too slow to move on it. But we were able to rent another place just down the road so we're still in the neighborhood! Thanks to the very helpful and hospitable owner for all her tips on biking. We thoroughly enjoyed the "Loop"! Thank you again for a great vacation! Jill and Tom
We had never been to Tucson and of course the property was also new to us. On departure to Arizona it wasn't clear what we find on arrival. We were pleasantly surprised on both accounts. The VRBO description and photos are accurate. It is a quiet townhome (we never heard the neighbors through the walls) and very quite neighborhood. It's clear that the owners in the townhome development are meticulous about keeping things maintained and clean. The couple things that did need attention were addressed promptly by the owner.
We never tired of the daily walks through the neighborhood both day and night (it's very safe). Absolutely stunnings views of the surrounding mountain ranges due to their proximity and even of the city night lights along the very accessible ridge. If you want to walk through an incredible, mature botanical garden of aloe verge, and mesquite trees, cactus, and other succulents, this neighborhood is it. As a big bonus, there's a wash adjacent to the back of the townhome full of less manicured but every bit as magnificent Tuscon flora and fauna. We walked this on a couple occasions. It was like a large nature preserve in the middle of the city. In there and even from the patio we saw all manner of wildlife (javelina, rabbits, roadrunners, gila woodpeckers, house finches, lesser goldfinches, various hummingbirds types, morning doves, phainopepla, gamble quail).
There is good shopping to be had a few minutes drive in several directions from the townhome. Not more than 10 minutes drive there are at least three world-class canyon hikes (Sabino Canyon, Ventana Canyon, and Pima Canyon). And the further out you go, literally a lifetime of adventures to be found (just too many to list). The owner was very helpful to point out a number of things to do that you might not find through a web search.
A wonderful home and hostess! The home was clean with everything in working order. It is a townhome located in a beautiful residential area near Sabino Canyon. Beth was such a gracious hostess, and made sure we had everything we needed including things for our 2 kids (2 and 5yrs). She brought out her son's old toddler books, made sure the sleeping arrangements were safe for the little ones and had plenty of games (twister was a hit!) for the kids to play. Behind the house is a wash where we took early morning walks with the kids. It was beautiful. Beth also was very happy to share her knowledge on local hikes as well as good spots for biking and running. The residential complex has a pool that was an easy walk away. It was all very relaxed and comfortable.
The Catalina Foothills offers wonderful bicycling opportunities, access to The Loop (multi-mile multi-use linear park with a paved path along Tucson waterways), and miles of hiking in Sabino Canyon Recreation Area and the trails of the Catalina Mountains. Additionally, our community offers tennis/pickle ball courts, a pool and Jacuzzi and neighborhood walking/hiking paths. Superb dining is just minutes away, ranging from Vito and Shomo's deli to the Four Diamond Janos restaurant at La Paloma Resort. The gourmet cook will find plenty of fresh supplies at the St Phillips Sunday Farmer's Market which features organic and locally grown produce and range-fed beef, pork and poultry as well as AJ's Fine Foods and Whole Foods markets. Nearby, one can find abundant opportunities for outdoor activities with hundreds of miles of hiking opportunities in the surrounding 'sky island' mountains of Southern Arizona. South of Tucson. fishing or boating enthusiasts will find several stocked lakes. Tucson offers art museums and galleries, great dining and world-class entertainment. Tucson is also the home of many great musicians and offers many, many choices for music from country to classical. Southern Arizona hosts several National Parks and Recreation areas with great wild-life viewing, including Saguaro National Park East and West, Chiricahua National Monument, and Organ Pipe National Monument. The history buff can poke around in area ghost towns and Southern Arizona's many history museums and historical sites. For the kids or grandkids, Tucson offers many parks, abundant bicycling, a Children's Museum and a two world-class zoos, including the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum which houses creatures of all types indigenous to the Sonoran Desert. Tucson's average temperatures for January and February (mid to hi 60s), March (mid 70s) and April (low 80s) and generous sunshine make any activity fun and doable. There's a reason so many bird species migrate to the Sonoran Desert for the winter. And you should, too.
