Kamloops' West End is the most historically significant and, in our opinion, beautiful part of the city. We love the history and culture of the area, and want to be a part of Kamloops' city revival. We are tired of the big box experience happening up the hill, in the city core, family businesses thrive on Victoria street and people are out walking and living where they work. We promote the urban densification of the beautiful Kamloops core. We support local business and entertainment. Nightly through the summer there is live entertainment in Riverside park, in the winter months you can walk to enjoy Blazer's games or catch live music at one of the city bars, all are within an easy walk from the property.
35 West Seymour blends into the historic, classic neighbourhood. Our favourite building is the old cigar factory, several doors down, which now houses Venture Kamloops, two doors down is the Kamloops Museum, a beautiful brick building with lovely gardens and outdoor seating for your enjoyment. A short walk around the property and you will see the lovingly restored homes and various small businesses which make this location in Kamloops our 'personal' favourite.
We have had the pleasure of using this accommodation several times throughout this past summer, with excellent results. The owners were extremely attentive and accommodating with special requests and changing schedules. Nicely furnished with two bedrooms, full kitchen & bath in a central location - with parking, we found it to be ideal for visiting professionals and a great vantage point to explore the city of Kamloops and the surrounding area.
We stayed here for a week (2adults and 2 kids). We were in town for a sporting event, and the suite is a quick easy drive to the tournament center. The suite itself is newly renovated and looks very nice. The beds were comfortable and we made full use of the kitchen and washer and dryer. There are shops very close by and the owner was very helpful and easy to contact.
The suite was missing a few things- hooks on doors, drawers to put clothing in, cutting board (which the owner did provide right away), iron/ironing board, hair dryer, and has fairly basic kitchen supplies. Oddly, there was only enough seating for 2 people at the breakfast bar, and no kitchen table in a suite that can sleep up to 5. I am assuming some of these deficiencies are simply because the place is new.
Although the suite is pet free, there was a dog staying in the suite directly above ours, which barked a lot. As another reviewer pointed out, parking is tricky here but could be improved by grading and levelling the front parking area. Also, I didn't think the upkeep of the outside of the building reflected the inside very well (weeds, cigarette butts etc) and the main lobby has a very unpleasant odour and wasn't very clean.
Overall, I think this suite is a good alternative to a hotel if you are looking for something more like home in kamloops. The owner was lovely and the small deficiencies inside and outside of the apartment easily fixed.
My wife and I stayed in the two bedroom apartment for three months and loved the locations, layout, furnishings and amenities. We were a short walk away from Music in the Park, Victoria Street shops/restaurants and the Thompson River. The apartment was recently renovated with modern design and furnishings.
We were looking forward to staying in Kamloops but were very disappointed with the suite. It has been recently renovated but was not clean. It looked as though the cleaners had started cleaning but had not finished. There was a pile of collected dirt under the swifter in a closet, there was about 2 weeks of dust under the beds, one bed had crumbs on the cover and the sheets as well as a dead fly and pen in the sheets, the towels were still in the drier, the better sheets were still in the washing machine, and the floor had not been washed. While the owner had said we could call her, we expected the place to be clean when we arrived and it was not. We cleaned it ourselves as best we could.
There are closets to hang clothes but no chest of drawers so you are mainly living out of a suitcase. There is supposed to be parking but it is very limited and difficult.
We suggested to the owner that we should have a reduction in the cost but this was not accepted.
We would not stay here again.
My husband and I live and work in Kamloops. Our house flooded and we were required to move out while the restoration took place. There are very few fully furnished short-term rentals in Kamloops, and in the past, the ones that were available were beyond depressing. What a relief to find this condo! We rented the suite on the very first day it was offered, and I believe we were the first people to move into the newly renovated building. We stayed for a month, and couldn't have been happier. The owners were friendly and wonderfully accommodating. The place was well stocked with everything we needed, and they made sure to rush the internet and cable connection so that it was ready when we moved in. I'm at a loss to explain the prior reviewer's comments: our place was just fantastic, and the owners were completely responsive to any and all requests. She even checked in periodically via text or email, just to ensure that we had everything we needed, and that all was going well. The suites are beautifully renovated, with an urban heritage feel. It's situated close to everything, and we were able to walk to work, grocery stores, dinner and entertainment venues. I will definitely be recommending these suites to my clients, friends and family.
We needed a place to stay while we were on a short term contract in Kamloops. It was difficult to find a furnished rental in the city of Kamloops where we wouldn't be stuck out in the burbs in a basement suite. The suite is new and modern. My wife was on her own most of the time and she could easily walk everywhere in the city, with a bus stop within the block. This feels like a bigger city condo in a small city. We love smaller apartment buildings - this one has 6 suites, easy to get in and out of the condo and out into the world. Highly recommend!

Fantastic, convenient city location - minutes to Riverside Park where nightly summer concerts play, River activities, walking/running trails, numerous dining and shopping options, farmer's market - easy walking through the city, walk to Blazer's hockey games at the Interior Savings Centre
