The Apartment

A beautiful Victorian home originally built at the turn of the last century and architecturally transformed into newly renovated vacation rentals. The comforts of the new and charm of the old! You will feel completely at home with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The kitchen has been remodeled with new cabinets, granite counters and stainless steel appliances. It is well supplied with pots and pans etc should you have an interest in cooking meals. There are many peaceful and relaxing corners. Family and friends can relax at the end of the day either in the living area or dining nook. This is a very comfortable unit with cable TV, flat screen 3D HDTV. Towels and linens are provided, new large washer and dryer. Air conditioning except in the bedrooms. The beautiful high ceilings and large windows offer an abundance of space and natural light to enjoy.

We are located in Portland’s historic Nob Hill/Alphabet district west of the I-405. It is a central location with a mix of vintage, independent and higher end shops 1-3 blocks away. Couch Park is a lovely green space and less than 2 blocks away.

Working in Portland? Bring your laptop, we have a scanner-printer, high-speed Internet with wireless throughout the apartment. Staying here, you will probably never have to use a car to get around town. Parking is limited. This neighborhood has one of the best walking scores in all of Portland.

Parking: We have a street parking permit that guests are welcome to use.

The Location

This home is located in a prime location a few blocks from popular NW 21st & 23rd venues, 3 blocks from the Pearl district and 10 blocks to downtown Portland. There are lots of boutiques, home design shops both local and well-known stores and antique shops. Portland has hiking & biking trails, parks, galleries, fabulous restaurants whether for happy hour or fine dining, European bakeries, local micro breweries and pubs, coffee shops. Just about everything for an enjoyable visit. It is very close to the street car. There is the convenience of a great health conscience urban grocery stores nearby for everyday necessities. Close to public transit… makes this a great place to stay.

Cultural attractions include performing arts, Portland Art Museum and countless art galleries in the Pearl and Nob Hill. Major league soccer (Portland Timbers) is within walking distance. Scenic day trips range from Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood, the Columbia Gorge, Oregon wine country within 60 miles. The Oregon coast is 70 miles. Minutes from boutique shopping, restaurants in the Pearl and on 21st and 23rd, 4 blocks from streetcar, bus, 2 miles from downtown, 6 blocks from Good Sam Hospital, 15 minutes or less from Oregon Zoo, Rose Quarter, Providence Park Soccer Arena, OHSU, PSU, St. Vincent and Providence Medical Centers.

Just three blocks to the Street Car (local mass transit) which allows easy access to all of Portland.

Some notes

There is a stair case leading to the front door at the 2nd level as well as a set of stairs that leads to the upstairs living area. All bedrooms are located on the first level. The master bedroom has a king and a full bathroom attached. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and the third bedroom as two singles. There is a second full bathroom on the first level as well.

The upstairs has a fully remodeled kitchen, a dining island, a dining nook, a half bathroom and living room.

Incredible Home

My four college friends and I (57 year old women) stayed at the Perch. It was beyond fantastic. The location, in the Alphabet District couldn't be better. So preferred it to the Pearl. Lots of little cafes, parks, restaurants, and grocery stores within walking distance. Close to everything. Only a 9 minute walk to the MAX light rail system. So you actually don't even need a car. We rented one though to drive out along the Colombia River Valley to the many waterfalls and hiking trail. The owners have thought of EVERYTHING and have incredible taste. Lovely decor and really comfortable beds and pillows. We cooked in a few meals with no problem. The hosts have provided everything you'll need. It is also immaculate and very clean. There are many sets of stairs (four) so wouldn't be great if you had recent ACL or hip replacement, unless your PT wanted you to exercise a bit! The street, this home and other homes in the area are absolutely gorgeous. We felt VERY safe during our stay. Easy access to major highways. 24 minute drive to the airport. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Finding this for my group made me their hero.

6 people with different travel experiences , some extensive and others not so much,were impressed by Debra and Robbies home. It offered everything that one could need, location, decor, cleanliness and just about every item one would expect to find in their own home. The layout for entertaining was fabulous the bedrooms on the 2nd floor with the kitchen and living room on the third made it easy for early to bed and late nighters to co-exist. You cannot go wrong with this rental. Debbie was a pleasure to deal with and we could not have been happier.

Excellent location / very nice accommodations

We enjoyed our "girls" get away at The Perch. The location was excellent for walking to shops and restaurants. The home is very clean and nicely decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable. Deb was excellent to work with as well, the coffee grinder was not working and although I told her not to worry about it she delivered one to us the same day I contacted her. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location, we only used our car twice

Well kept property plenty of space for all 6 of us. The location put us within walking distance of everything, and the streetcar filled in the rest. We would absolutely stay here again.Portland was a great place to spend a long weekend Jet Set!
