About Elizabeth Fodaski
I have been living in New York and summering in Wellfleet my entire life. My mother owns the house next door, and my sister and I and our husbands were lucky enough to buy this house last summer.
Elizabeth Fodaski purchased this House in 2013
Why Elizabeth Fodaski chose Wellfleet
This property belonged to our beloved neighbor, who lived in the house from 1976 to 2010. When my sister and I were children, we went to visit our neighbor daily, picking strawberries from her garden, and doing projects with her in her artist's studio downstairs. Her work has been exhibited in Wellfleet for decades, and she and her husband maintained a year-round presence in the Wellfleet community until their deaths. When she died at 97, our family bought the house we had always loved and spent time in as children.
What makes this House unique
The screened-in porch off the living room is a really special place to spend time in the summer. Having a candlelit dinner with friends outdoors in the summertime is one of the best ways we know to pass an evening, and this spot, on the edge of the marsh, without another house in that direction, just green and more green, is an idyll.

At Home in the Wellfleet Woods
My extended family and I spent a week in Elizabeth's home in July 2017. If you have been captivated by the home's uniqueness, modern architecture and location, you won't be disappointed. It's truly original and feels as if it's wedged into the forest. Though the weather wasn't perfect during our Wellfleet stay, we felt like we had lots time to enjoy simple pleasures at home... reading, catching up on the screened-in porch, making meals in the well-appointed kitchen, or taking naps in the cozy bedrooms with amazing forest views. Town is just a short drive or bike ride away, and has much to offer: from a general store, and crafts shops, to quaint restaurants on the water and a wonderful produce/fish store. Elizabeth is a welcoming host who warmly shares her family's retreat with all of us. Find your way to Marsh End, relax and enjoy. Gratefully, Linda K.
great mid century modern house
This house was comfortably furnished and well-equipped. The common spaces were nice, altho the bathrooms were dark and a bit musty, The screened-in porch was wonderful, with a lovely view of the woods and was very private.
We had a lovely time there.
Great house in a quiet location!
Beautiful, modern home in a great location close to town, but far away enough from both town and Route 6 to be really quiet. Nice sized bedrooms, good kitchen and lots of outdoor space. The owner was really friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!
The only thing to be aware of is that there is a spiral staircase to the downstairs bedrooms that would be tough for little kids. There is a gate there though.
JUDY AND MAI JACOBS
We had a lovely stay in this quiet, secluded woodland home.
We spent a lot of time on the large screen in porch overlooking the Marsh.
The upstairs bedroom bed faces the Marsh. We had a great view.
The house is ample for 6 adults or two small families with younger children, since the beds are single.
The basketball hoop was a welcome bonus!
We would definitely return.
4 bedroom in the woods
A new rental that was very comfortable. Best asset is the screened-in porch off the living room for cocktails and group lobster dinners.
Because it is a new rental it is missing some minor essentials. Like enough hooks for wet towels and a decent big screen TV. But other than that, we enjoyed the house and would rent again.
We appreciate your comments.
Since your stay, we have taken care of the wet towel problem with the addition of a clothesline outside as well as in the laundry area downstairs.
We have plans to upgrade the entertainment system in the future with the addition of a larger flat screen television in the living room.
