About Vicki Atkins
We purchased our 'little bit of paradise' after marrying on the island and returning for our tenth anniversary. It is important to us that your stay be everything you imagine! We are happy to help you with suggestions/recommendations and are only a phone call away!
Vicki Atkins purchased this Condo in 1995
Why Vicki Atkins chose Poipu
Poipu Beach speaks for itself, world-famous with white beaches, and convenient to restaurants, equipment rentals/sales. Kahala Resort is ideally situated, close to the beach (world reknown for snorkeling and whale watching), pools, tennis courts, golf courses. Paradise truly awaits you!

it was a great relaxoing stay in amazingly lush atmosphere
We had an excellent state at Vicki's Kauai vacation home. It has been beautifully re-done and was very comfortable for both my wife and myself. It's in a nice location near Poipu Beach and is only half an hour from the airport. We made good use of the excellent tennis facilities at the resort and enjoyed the amenities such as the barbecue and the two pools that we used every day.
Thanks Vicki for letting us stay in your beautiful home!
#532 Kaha resort
A very nice place and setting. Well stocked with kitchen stuff. Some things need maintenance. A very loud fan in the bathroom. Only two of three BBQ's working. Some blinds don't work well. These should be fixed to complete your happy time here.
The unit was exactly what we needed.
Loved the location, ocean view, and the unit itself. The lanai was a lovely setting for meals. We purchased a beach chair and left it for future residents. The only issue we had was we found the walk to the beach was longer than the 200 steps. But we’d stay here again. Loved our stay!
Nice property. Lots of amenities. Like having your own home right on the beach!
It was OK. One problem happened that Vicki Atkins sent details about
entrance 2 moths in advance and I lost this mail. When we arrived,
according address in Poipu we were not able find reception that was 2 blocks. Vicki was not recheable by e-mail or phone.
It could be nice if she (he) can repeat mail with contact info phone address of reception in Poipu etc., in several days before departure.
in several days
I make every effort to send all the necessary info at the time of booking. Unfortunately when I learned the information had been misplaced it was too late to help with checking in ( all of which was contained in initial info packet) as I was 12 hours behind island time.
Property was manicured and clean
Our condo was clean and comfortable
Aloha and welcome to the garden island of Kauai. Our 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo was been completely renovated and includes everything you would want in your own home. Located in Kahala, our complex is beautifully manicured, includes a grassy play area, barbeques, a hot tub and two fantastic swimming pools. One of the pools is more family oriented and includes a hot tub. The other pool is much more secluded, includes a grill and barbeque seating that is covered and quite private. Shhh....keep it a secret!
Tennis anyone? The Poipu Tennis Club is located in our development and offers clay and grass courts for a small fee. Kahala is home to the world famous Poipu Kai Tennis Complex which includes grass courts in addition to standard courts.
A walker's paradise, the beach is merely 200 steps along a beautifully landscaped greenbelt. The first beach you will encounter is the multi-faceted Brennecke's Beach is a haven for boogie boarders and body surfers. The main part of this beach includes a green grassy area, shade trees, picnic shelters, restrooms and showers. Brennecke's offers a calm-water swimming area perfect for children first experiencing the ocean or those who want to explore with their masks and snorkels or on their boogie boards. A few (promise) more steps and you are at world-famous Poipu Beach which offers snorkeling, surfing and paddle boarding. Restaurants located across from the beach offer frozen ices, cold drinks and awesome sandwiches. The Brennecke's restaurants upstairs offers sit-down dining and a bar featuring island delights and fabulous food. There is also a restaurant located adjacent to the main swimming pool. Poipu Beach has been voted Best Beach in America multiple times and its reputation is well deserved.
Two shopping centers are located in the Poipu area, one within walking distance that has restaurants ranging from Roy's to Tropical Burger. The other is located just past the Sheraton and is a lovely new gathering place with restaurants including Bubba's (a must for meat eaters), to the new Tortilla Grill with a fresh new approach to Mexican cuisine, to spots offering full-scale dining to those serving tapas (small plates which are perfect in allowing you to sample all the island delights). Shops offer clothing, island art, equipment sale and rental and everything one needs for the beach! Or follow the manicured walking path to The Marriott or The Grand Hyatt which are located on either sides of our condo. The Marriott offers a beach bar/restaurant while the Hyatt offers a beach/bar restaurant, an incredible happy hour with live music, upscale Italian dining as well as one of our favorites, Tide Pools which is located directly over expansive koi pools for the special occasions. Another favorite to be mentioned is The Beach House; if not for dinner, at least go for happy hour (try the Lime Kafir Martini)...but not matter when you go, take your camera for breathtaking sunset views...a perfect location for those photographs which will remind you of your wonderful holiday on the most beautiful of the American islands!
Activities abound including everything you can imagine for the outdoor enthusiast or beach lover. Whale watching and dinner cruises offer opportunities for viewing dolphins, sea turtles, shark as well, if you prefer being on top of the water. Learn to wind surf on the North Side of the island (which is definitely a day trip and one you will never forget). Hiking the Napali Coast provides access to one of the most photographed cliff-side oceanic views. Paddle boarding, snorkeling, surf sailing and surfing awaits you. Instruction, snorkeling and board rentals are all available at Nukomoi's which is next to Brennecke's Restaurant about a hundred more steps down the beach. We have watched these local surfers grow from young entrepreneurs to successful family men....we've known these teachers since our son began surfing with them at the age of three which is why we are comfortable with this recommendation.
Horse-back riding, zip line tours, four-wheeling, mountain biking ... there really is something for everyone on the island of Kauai. Three miles up the road is Spouting Horn, a natural rock formation that collects the surging surf and shoots it into the sky and is home to vendors featuring jewelry, island arts and crafts.
