About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4 Has Catalina Mtn Views from Deck.

Charming Casita! This is a Romantic get-a-way. Mexican tile thru-out, Pine ceilings, new appliances, walk-in tiled shower. Cherry and Walnut cabinets. (the owner is a retired cabinetmaker).

We have a queen bed in the bedroom with plenty of closet space and doors with mirrors for that open feeling. Also a La-z-boy couch that pulls out to a queen bed as well. Very comfortable.

Imagine yourselves with a drink in your hand under the covered patio looking out onto the Catalina Mtns.

We also have fast speed internet for business or pleasure.

Please take time and look at the reviews and pictures as I think you will be hard pressed to find a more unique and cozy getaway.

About Kelley Rivers

Kelley and Nancy are from NORTH POLE ALASKA! (No kidding). We love to travel, and also have a passion for remodeling, Classic Cars, Magic and other Circus Skills.

Kelley grew up in Southern California surfing and sailing. In 1970 Kelley sailed a 38 ft. Ketch to Hawaii and has been traveling ever since.

Nancy my wife was a Dog Musher is Alaska for many, many years and once had as many as 50 dogs in her kennel. Nancy is now retired from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks and I still own a Specialty lumberyard in North Pole. (That is why we have a Ponderosa Pine Tongue and Groove ceiling in the Casita!) (I love the warmth and coziness it provides).

Kelley Rivers purchased this cottage in 2011

Why Kelley Rivers chose Catalina Foothills

This Casita been totally remodeled and now everything is new and up to date. This property is close to everything including SABINO CANYON for those who love the outdoors and hiking. Also within 1 mile of Tucson Medical Facilities for those in need of those services. Fine Dining is a 5 minute walk, as is Vera Amore Italian Food and live music outside sometimes,(Both places TOP RATED!) and fresh FRENCH pastries also a 5 minute walk. The British car club meets at the Starbucks on Grant and Swan on tuesday mornings at 8 A. M.

What makes this cottage unique

Spectacular Mexican tiled kitchen, with all new appliances for that Romantic get-a-way! This place is small but you will be in a World all your own when you walk in. Very comfy and cozy. Close to EVERYTHING! You'll love the warmth of the 1 x 6 T&G Pine ceiling. Everything in this home is the finest tile we could find.

Great for Gem Show participants and plenty of parking off street in a quiet, slow paced neighborhood. Although, just a block from Grant and Swan cross-street. Lots of room for additional vehicles. Also room to park small vehicles inside a garage which is hard to find in Tucson. Situated on a large lot so you have room to move and sit on the patio and look at the Catalina Mtns. Starbucks just one block away as well for that morning coffee! :-)

We do have a small dog run in the backyard for your cherished pets. The complete yard has a 4 foot block fence, but no gate on the driveway.

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

This is a unique small house featuring beautiful Mexican tile work in the kitchen and bathroom, nice custom kitchen cabinets, dishwasher, large garage, and thoughtfully landscaped yard. For my wife and I, it was the perfect size and location, giving us good access to nearby relatives and familiar places. The washer and dryer in the garage were a nice plus. The neighborhood was quiet and I enjoyed meeting a next door neighbor who was working on his yard. A great home away from home, and an excellent alternative to some sterile hotel room. Thoughtful and attentive hosts.

The BEST deal on VRBO!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I needed a place to stay while visiting our daughter who was about to give birth. We found this beautiful Casita just a few miles from her and it turned out to be a wonderful month for us. Much care and thought from Kelly and Nancy went into the design of this home. It has all the modern conveniences you would expect in a new home with a southwest flair. The full size 2 car garage and laundry room were a big plus. Being July and August are a tad bit on the warm side, the Casita in my opinion, has the quietest air conditioner on the market. It stayed very pleasant inside and made for comfortable sleep at night. The bed was comfy and our dog Charlie enjoyed the cool tile floor and dog run out back. We met the very friendly neighbors and were invited out with them to enjoy a live band one evening that was walking distance from the Casita. The location is ideal for everything. Food shopping, dining, entertainment is all within blocks. We feel like we stumbled onto a rare find with this place. We enjoyed Tucson so much that we ended up buying a home here. We would rather keep this place our little secret but that wouldn't be fair to others. We highly recommend this place! Trevor & Marilyn.

Easily the nicest VRBO property we have rented

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I travel all over the world and use VRBO frequently. Although we have always had good experiences, this has easily been the best property we have rented.

We stayed at the Casita for over a month as we waited to move into our new home. When we arrived, we could not believe how nice this little house is. I have never seen such a clean and tidy house. Every detail is well thought out. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. The house is furnished very well and is so easy to clean and maintain. The yard is beautifully landscaped - my dog loved it.

Kelley is incredibly nice and responsive. Had a random garage door malfunction. Kelley had a repairman at the house the next day. No fuss, no problems.

Would highly recommend the Casita to any person or couple visiting Tucson.

The care and creativity that went into putting this little cottage together was done with an artist's eye. My friends used the bedroom and I was on an air mattress on the pull out couch. It worked. The living room doesn't exist but we worked it all out. Since we didn't spend much time in the cottage, we were able to cook and eat comfortably and converse in the space there was around the couch. The TV gets few channels and they pixelate frequently. The laundry room is spacious and easy to work in.

It is a quiet neighborhood and close to major sightseeing locations.

I recommend this location for couples.

Very fine 2nd stay!!

  • 5 of 5

Kelley and Nancy's little casita is truly a labor of love for them. The casita and property are meticulously maintained. In 2016 I stayed at their casita for the 2nd time. I plan to return for several weeks in 2017. I enjoy everything about the casita; the décor is very pleasing SW style, the large garage & workshop are great for cycle repair stand. The mid-town location is convenient to my favorite recreation areas; Sabino Canyon, Saguaro National Park East Rincon District, Mount Lemmon. I enjoy evening walks in the quiet neighborhood. Excellent shopping is close. I couldn't ask for more when it comes to spending several late winter weeks in Tucson.

Just like home without the snow!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely stay in a very clean, safe and comfortable casita in a very convenient part of town with gorgeous view of the Catalinas mountains.

The House and garden provide a sense of comfort, everything is clean and in good taste. The kitchen is very well equipped and we had many meals home. On days you don't feel like cooking there are tons of restaurants and grocery stores near by.

The bed has a very good mattress and we slept really well in the very quiet neighborhood, awoken by birds songs in the morning. I did a couple of laundry loads in the very convenient laundry room and we enjoyed the garage too . In all it felt very much like our home away from home and we would love to do it again next year.

The owner and his lovely wife stopped by and we were treated to a full magic show that blew us away! What a treat it was.

This is a Romantic spot and if you love nice Kitchens you will be delighted. I am a retired Cabinetmaker and there are hand carved cabinets from Nogalas Mexico from late 60's in Casita.
