Fully renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. Chef's gourmet kitchen complete with gas fireplace and built in flat screen TV. Huge back back deck and yard with a hot tub, fire pit, & lounge chairs.

Master bedroom has a king bed and large walk in glass shower.

2nd downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and adjacent bathroom (additional access to bathroom off of living room) with large tub/shower combo.

Upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a couch that pulls out to full size bed.

Down sleeper sofa in living room, allows home to sleep at least 9 in beds.

2 brand new Beach Cruisers available for short trips to the beach and around Santa Monica. The beach is 8 blocks away.

Walking distance to the great restaurants and shops on Main Street in Santa Monica (6 blocks) and on Abbot Kinney in Venice (about 15-20 min walk - less then a mile away).

Local parks, tennis courts and Penmar golf course are blocks away, within the neighborhood.

Less than 2 miles to downtown Santa Monica Promenade and Pier. Can walk via the beach to the Pier in about 30 minutes.

There are two parking spots in the driveway. There is additional non-permit street parking always available out front.

So beautiful, the house alone could be the destination

We drove from Texas to California with two young children in a small station wagon. When I walked in through the front door of this home, I almost bent down and kissed the floor...the sparkling clean wood floor. The pictures on the website are beautiful, but in person, this place is heavenly. Very tastefully decorated, but not so overdone you feel like you're living in a furniture showroom. It felt like home.

The layout made it perfect for our group which ranged in age from 3 to 70. Grandparents had their own space in the master bedroom with a private entrance to the deck. Little kids had their area on the second floor where they would play on their own...for long periods of time. (My favorite amenity.) The fenced in backyard was also a great play area for two "high-energy" boys.

The house is in a fabulous location. Whole Foods is an easy five-minute walk away. The beach, Santa Monica pier, 3rd Street Promenade, and Abbot-Kinney shops are all a 5-minute drive away. It's very close to a lot of attractions, but located in a neighborhood so you have a relaxing place to come back to. The grandparents loved the house so much, they spent almost the entire time on the property, enjoying coffee on the deck, lounging in the backyard with a book, or hanging out on the couch with the windows open.

I believe the house feels so comfortable and welcoming because of Melissa, the owner. She was very accessible and helpful, but not at all intrusive. You can tell she puts a lot of care into the house and thinks about all the details to make sure your stay is fun, enjoyable and relaxing. We are already looking forward to going again!

Great location and many amenities.

Pleased with property, especially the deck, patio, hot tub area. And of course the kitchen was fabulous. Bedrooms and baths very nice also. Only complaint was sleeper sofa not functional as a bed, broken mattress hooks. But that didn't prevent a wonderful memorable stay. The pod parked in front of the house across the street made driveway backing extremely difficult but that wasn't owners fault. Would highly recommend.

Perfect!

Could not have asked for a better place for my family (4 adults, 3 small children) to stay while visiting from the east coast! This is a GREAT house. It had everything we needed, plenty of space indoor & outdoor - backyard was perfect for kids to play & adults to relax & whole house was spotlessly clean on arrival! Melissa, the home owner, was super easy to deal with, quick to respond to any questions, left us some great restaurant recommendations & made the entire process a piece of cake! Excellent location - close proximity to endless activities- Restaurants on Rose Ave, Venice Beach, Golds Gym, 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica Place, Montana Ave, Ocean Ave. And walkable to all the essentials - grocery stores, coffee shops, CVS. My family was sad to go, would stay here 100 more times!

a disappointment

We were first disappointed with this home two days before our visit was scheduled to begin. The owner told us that the home had no air conditioning.

Upon arriving, we were happy to see that the house was clean, though it would have been easier to unpack if the owner had removed her belonging from more than a couple of drawers.

The third sleeping area was actually not a real bedroom. Instead it appeared to be attic space with a bed, fan, sofa and a clothes rod.

Perhaps the most challenging aspect of this rental was the noise at night. The sound of traffic on the busy road next to the house made sleeping difficult. Police sirens woke us up on more than one night. And given that the house has no air conditioning, opening the windows to cool off the rooms made the house even noisier. Contrary to the description on the VRBO website, this home's location is anything but quiet.

We wound up leaving the home one night early due to these problems. We wish our stay here had been more comfortable and were disappointed with the home given the amount of money we paid per night.

Owner's Response: I am sorry this guest had a disappointing stay. I encourage travelers considering my home to read the 6 other all 5 Star reviews and the 15 all 5 star reviews on the other travel site air bnb number 2101899. I believe the disappoint came from the guest not reading the listing or even reviewing the rental agreement they accepted when they booked. The rental agreement clearly states the check in time (if needs to be adjusted, happy to do our best to accommodate on advance notice so we can arrange cleaning, etc). However, from the start, this guest arrived hours before the agreed upon check in time, violating someone in the home who was in the shower. The listing also clearly does not list the home has air-conditioning. It is EXTREMELY rare for homes in Santa Monica (or the west side of Los Angeles in general) to have air-conditioning. Average temperatures in Santa Monica are highs of 66 F and lows of 56 F, even in the summer the average high is only 76 F. There are fans in every room. In the listing details, air-conditioning is not listed. The house does have central heat, which is listed. Also, the 3rd bedroom is a bedroom and not an attic. There was never an attic in the home. The 3rd bedroom is exactly as the picture depicts, the slanted ceilings are part of the home’s architecture as it was designed to be a bedroom. I’m sorry it was not to the guest's liking, but it was never an attic and exactly as pictured. As far as space to unpack, yes half of the very large dresser does have the owner's belongings. The other half (2 drawers in each downstairs bedroom) are completely open. There is also an entire empty wall of closets and cabinets in the master bedroom with hangers for guests’ use. The closets downstairs also have a private area of 8 shelves, to unpack & a whole other set of empty closets to hang a very large amount of clothing. The 3rd bedroom upstairs also contains an empty dresser to unpack and two closet hanging bars behind the white curtains as depicted exactly in the photo. As far as noise, again I encourage you to read the other 20+ reviews that never mention this. In fact others even refer to the street as being quiet b/c it is a dead end street which allows for no through traffic from local residents. Otherwise, yes you are coming to Los Angeles, and in general cities have street noise that are much louder than rural areas. Great care is taken to make sure guests have a wonderful stay and are comfortable.

Family reunion

This is an absolutely fabulous house, we had 10 people spread over 3 generations ranging from 7 months old to 60 years young, the house had everything we needed.

On arrival after a week in Cabo it was a delight to walk into such a beautiful, welcoming, spotless, bright house it felt so homely not like a rental at all. It was great to relax in the back garden with grandchildren, also a terrific location for all our tourist needs across all the ages.

I had a truly fantastic 10 days in this beautiful house with all my family from the UK and NZ this was partly due to Melissa the owner, she was so easy to deal with, nothing was a problem, responded to all our questions promptly, the guide for the house and surrounding areas was really helpful within a couple of days we were getting around like locals.

I would happily recommend this house to my friends and family we all had a great time there.
