Port O’Call is a charming and quiet oasis in the middle of several thousands of acres of conservation land within walking distance of the beach. Madequecham is on the southeastern end of the island, facing the Atlantic Ocean, where visitors may experience breathtaking sunsets and starry skies.
We purchased this 1600 sq/ft “upside down” house in the fall of 2013 and are now undertaking an extensive renovation to add the amenities that will truly make it the perfect island get away. Port O’Call is located on a quiet street, and is three quarters of a mile on a sandy dirt road from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Madequecham beach. The sandy dirt roads that wind through the conservation land around the house are ideal for bike riding, running and walking. The bike path to Siasconset is easily accessible and you are only a few minutes by car to Nantucket Town.
Port O’Call has been newly renovated this year. It now has beautiful south and west facing decks to maximize views of the water and the beautiful sunsets, a cathedral ceiling with a gourmet kitchen including high end appliances, a beautiful quartzite island countertop and custom cabinetry, all new windows and doors, a gas fire-place, a wrap around porch downstairs with access through French doors from the bedrooms, all new expanded bathrooms, totally redesigned downstairs living to open the house to more natural light and to expand the entry way. The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 bathrooms, which are outfitted with plush towels and high-end linens. The house has central air conditioning and is equipped with satellite television and WiFi Internet. We have also stocked the house with several board games for “off-line” entertainment. The kitchen contains all standard cooking equipment, and includes a Nespresso maker for coffee lovers. For sunny Nantucket days, a barbeque and newly purchased deck furniture provide a comfortable environment to unwind outside.
